Delmont area campsites provide seasonal variety with most locations operating from April through October, though Mountain Top Campground offers year-round access. The region features terrain variations ranging from riverside spots to hilltop camping with elevation changes requiring careful navigation on approach roads. Most campgrounds provide electric hookups from 30-50 amp service, with varying dump station availability.
What to do

Nearby attractions: Benner's Meadow Run RV Campground serves as a convenient base for cultural excursions. "We stayed for 2 nights while we visited Fallingwater and the Flight 93 Memorial. We should have stayed another night so we could visit Fort Necessity NP just down the road but ran out of time," reports Tim & Nancy C.
Water recreation: Pine Cove Beach Club RV Resort features a swimming pool with concession stand that receives high marks from visitors. "Great: The pool & concession stand, beautifully maintained lawns and gravel campsites," writes Heath T., who also appreciated the "modern hookups, good shower/laundry facilities, nice fire rings with built in grills."
What campers like
Level sites: The Blue Canoe RV Resort (formerly Uniontown KOA) receives mixed reviews about site conditions. "Some river sites were small and very un level but was doable," notes Fred R., while another camper appreciates "multiple pools, playsets, cabins and river sites" and the quiet atmosphere "cept for the occasional train pass by across the river."
Clean facilities: Mountain Top Campground earns praise for cleanliness and maintenance. "This park is very clean and well maintained," writes Corey L., who stayed for a month. The "central bathroom, pay shower, and laundry room had ac, a couch and were quite clean," according to another camper.
Family atmosphere: Benner's Meadow Run RV Campground offers structured activities for children. "Got a nice secluded spot to camp in the wooded area that had amazing mountain views and the star gazing platform. Kids had a great time and lots of activities for them to do!" says Tom C. Another visitor describes it as a "Great place for kids! Family friendly atmosphere, cordial staff, well run campground."
What you should know
Site configurations: Seasonal sites at Madison-Pittsburgh S.E. KOA occupy much of the campground. "There are a lot of full timers here," reports one visitor. Another notes difficulty with site placement: "a few steep ones but they all have gravel and a patch of grass with a table and fire pit."
Navigation challenges: Getting to rv sites near Delmont, Pennsylvania can require advance planning. Mountain Top Campground requires careful navigation on approach roads. "The hardest part is finding it. The roads get narrow so if in an RV call them for the easiest route in," advises Corey L.
Hookup variations: Mirror Lake RV Camping & Fishing provides 30-amp service and waterfront access. A visitor who stayed in a cabin with friends in campers found the "cabin was great, very clean and cozy" and enjoyed amenities like "a pool as well as a community building and camp store." Groups with children had "a blast playing on the playground, floating down the creek, swimming in the pool, riding bicycles etc."
Tips for camping with families
Playground access: Fox Den Acres Campground features recreational areas for children. "It's your typical campground... a nice playground and green space. Reservations are required," notes Kassie F. Another camper highlights the family-friendly elements: "This is a large campground with play grounds, well maintained pool and grounds, fishing, party pavilions, and store."
Activity schedules: Madison-Pittsburgh S.E. KOA organizes themed events weekly. "Every week they organize different themes for bingo, and other games. They also have Sunday pancake days," reports one visitor. Another notes, "Activities have always been cheap and bare bones" and suggests visitors "don't spend a week here with kids they'll get bored."
Campground layout: Bush Recreation Area has sites arranged in circular patterns. "We rented space 16 late August 2020 and our friends (and their kids) rented #17 on the inner circle, right next to us with the playground right behind us. Great spots! Our kids were within easy eye and earshot of the playground," explains Tim J.
Tips from RVers
Seasonal access: Pioneer Lakes RV Park offers RV camping with varying seasonal maintenance. "The roads around the camp ground could use some maintenance, especially on the hill side by the pool," notes Rachel D., though she found it "a wonderful place to take your family camping!"
Leveling challenges: Many RV sites near Delmont require attention to leveling equipment. A visitor to Pioneer Lakes mentions, "The spot was so unlevel there were 19 inches between my bottom step and the ground. This site was the same price as level ones closer to activities."
Grey water solutions: Mountain Top Campground provides a unique grey water disposal system suited for its location. "Since they sit atop the mountain, the grey water hookup is a long hose that has an adapter which hooks up to your black and grey tank outlet and it runs down the hillside of the mountain into the grassy area," explains Dave, noting this allows campers to use showers and faucets as if connected to a full hook-up site.
