Even Better if You Like Stock Car Races

Very nice and spacious sites with lots of trees and shade. Good hiking and views of the falls. Unless you’re a fan of oval dirt track racing, most Friday and Saturday nights in the summer and fall are pretty loud until after 11:00 at night.

great place to stay off highway 412

Stayed here while we went to Strawberry Festival in Stilwell. Very convenient to highway 412 and Siloam Springs. Hosts very friendly and helpful. New park, nothing fancy but a work in progress reasonably priced. Met our needs. Great location next to Illinois River if you want to kayak. Lots of open area to tent camp. Very secluded. Loved watching fireflies over the hayfield.

      Beware Racetrack Noise

This was a really nice campground with easy walks to some beautiful scenery! Flat pads with nice tables/grills/fire pits. Sites 3/4/11-14 have a lot more room so we’d probably pick one of those next time. There is a racetrack near by that was so loud we couldn’t hear each other talking from 6-11pm on Friday night which made it difficult to put our baby to bed. We’d love to go back but will definitely pick a weekend without a race next time.

      Gorgeous place

I go here with my friends every summer we hike almost all the trails , it’s gorgeous last time I went there (summer of 23) we saw a wild river otter swimming there is so much wildlife out there and it’s just gorgeous absolutely stunning and worth visiting, family friends and dog / pet friendly if you want to take your dogs on a hike this is the place , has stairs and is not very handicapped accessible if you want to go to the bottom of the falls but it is completely accessible for a wheelchair if you just want to view the falls from the top and there are multiple handicapped accessible paved paths !

      Great for families!

I only gave this a 4 star because the site we stayed at was not taken care of and NOT level. But we needed the shade and it was quiet. We enjoyed our selves. The campground has a LOT of loops, beach areas, fishing, marina, and CLEAN showers and restrooms. Very close to Rogers for entertainment and food but remote enough to be quiet and relaxing. Would come back here but we would opt for another site.

      Beautiful Area, Poor Management

The nature at this park is beautiful, however it is managed by the U.S. Army Corp Engineers who are very stingy. They give out citations like they’re candy. Any rule broken even if on unknowingly, accidentally or with justification they are quick to give you a citation which goes on your federal record. We accidentally parked in the wrong campsite and immediately corrected it once we were informed it was the wrong site, however were still given a citation. After having a poor experience with a ranger and his supervisor I will be avoiding land managed by the U.S. Amy Corps. On top of the extremity, the facilities and sites were poorly maintained and the crowd at this campground made us feel unsafe. I do not recommend this campground.

      Beautiful lake views

Worth the twenty minute drive from Grove. The remote location is great when you want to get away and feel like you are actually camping. The park is in the woods so almost all the spaces are shaded by beautiful old growth trees. We prefer this to the glorified parking lots that so many newer rv parks have become. The kids enjoy the outdoor pool and the lake views from the north side of the property are second to none at Grand Lake. Finally, the staff have been extremely friendly and helpful when we've stayed here and rates are great, especially for members.

      Overpriced/Bad customer service/uniformed staff

I hate this place and will never go back. I did primitive tent camping for 2 nights with my 5 kids and a 5 mile float in a raft. It was over $500. The raft, by design, took on several inches of water so we couldn’t keep anything dry. Then, they didn’t have a pick up bus. We had to walk down the highway back to the office after floating for 6 hours and then waiting for an hour and even calling twice. The kids behind the counter don’t have a clue what is going on and are completely unapologetic when they mess everything up (our reservations, the float instructions, the pick up bus…). They made zero effort to make anything right and the counter girl even laughed at me for being upset. When I got mad and asked to speak to someone who knows how a business is supposed to operate she called security to throw my son and I out. We left early, ate the money and paid a different campsite down the street where the staff are friendly and helpful.

      Thanks Charles

We stayed here for a quick weekend getaway trip and it was fantastic. All the sites are gravel so when we had a few rain showers it did not cause a muddy mess for our campfire evenings. The owner was super nice and very communicative ensuring we had everything we needed. He delivered firewood we purchased to our tent while we were at the park and, he even stayed up past midnight to see us in as we drove up from Oklahoma. New camp store, nice clean bathrooms, new showers, and a quiet stay with amazing star gazing. Lastly the campground is 5 minutes to the river to fish. Would highly recommend.

      Close to lake, little shade

This is a great RV resort close to the water but with very little shade. It is right across the street from Tera Miranda that has a cool restaurant on the water though. There are park models and group houses as well as RV pads. Nice central location on Monkey Island.

      Natural Falls State Park

Beautiful, clean, quiet campground. Truly a gem!

We camped May 5 through the 7th, feeling fortunate to have grabbed the last camping spot available:  space #9. First let me say that there are no bad spots in this beautiful park. All 26 spots with electric and water, and only about 6 of those had sewer...ours did not. There's also additional tent camping just on the north end of the park. Other amenities include comfort stations with showers, volleyball, horseshoes, and disk golf. No swimming, but that was not an issue for us. Lovely playgrounds for kids and lots of beautiful hiking trails. The campsite was patrolled routinely and kept neat as a pin. In the ranger station, you can get wood, ice, and keepsakes. This park has moved to the top of our favorites list!

      Lovely little spot

First time here. Beautiful campgrounds. Five different hiking trails, nice playgrounds, and frisbee golf. Really enjoyed staying here. Comfort Rooms by the tent area was nice and clean (and warm too). Site #8 was on the back of the camp circle at the start of a trailhead.

Downsides - bathroom stalls don’t offer much privacy- huge gaps in the door frame. Tent area is small and close together. And the campground lights were on all night (which would be fine if the lights weren’t a bright white color).

      Cool hang out area

This isn’t my typical style of campground because this is more of a parking lot style camping. However, they have a really cool hang out area, a clear creek to play in, and a waterfall area to explore. I’d you are passing through, this is a great place to stop and rest for the night!

This is NOT a 5 star resort

The most important thing I can tell you is the bathrooms smell like sewage and are dirty. I came to stay because I read how amazing it was. It is not. It’s kind of like staying in a giant parking lot. One side has trees the other a road. It was easy to get to the greenway and ride. However there is so much construction that it is better to create your own ride. So if you don’t mind a gross bathroom or you have an RV with one then it’s worth it. The people were very nice and helpful.

Very steep and off camber site

It was hard to find the correct area (but I did arrive at dusk so that made it harder.) My site, only one of a few remaining when I booked weeks ago, is down a steep drive that ends on a cambered slope. The paved area of the driveway has a substantial 4-5" dropoff on one side so be careful of your tires. You'd certainly be worse off with a bigger camper than my van, but it really is unacceptable. There aren't good places for a tent (but I don't need one.) Verizon seems fine. No wifi. Most campsites are only feet from the camp road and very close together. The area is well shaded. There is 30A electric, but there is no way I'd plug into it. It looks to have been installed decades ago and not touched since then. (Some of the electric boxes look updated.) Ditto on the bathhouses...not clean, not modern. Yikes!

      Nice little park

As a tent camper, I prefer dark nights. Lots of lights here, but I slept well anyway. Very little road noise. Open, breezy setting, nice for summer. Various amounts of shade. Nice “comfort station” with showers. (Haven’t yet seen the falls, got in late.)

      Prairie Creek (AR)

      4 nights at Prairie Creek

We had a great extended weekend (Wed-Sun) at Prairie Creek. Our little loop was nice and secluded while being close to the shower house and park. Traffic was minimal in the camping areas but the entrance point to the park could get busy with a lot of boat traffic. Luckily, there is a separate road to the marina and it was only congested at the entrance.

We used the 30A and water hookups and both worked seamlessly. Water tasted fine, not bad, not great. We only used it for washing dishes and brushing teeth. Showered at the shower house which had room temperature water.

Our site (27) was relatively level. Took 1 leveling block on the passenger side and we were set. We have a relatively long pop-up and still had ample room at the back of our site for bikes and space or the truck up front. There was a noticeable dip from the road to the site but it was manageable. Some other sites were much worse. The paved areas for our site were level-ish but anything away from the picnic table area and parking had a significant slope.

Docked 1 star due to the conditions I saw other spaces in and the dated shower house could use a refresh (or just some fans to move air during the hot days)

Photo below was taken while sitting at the picnic table.
