    Greenbo Lake State Resort Park

    It’s pretty nice

A lot of their sites have full hook up but not all of them. Read the details of the sites when booking. Some of the sites have really steep grades and aren’t big rig friendly.

Check in was a breeze had out car tags on our post.

They do have a full-time camp host on site.

I didn’t use the shower 🚿 house but they do have a couple on the grounds.

They have a putt putt course but bring your own putter and ball.

There is Verizon service but it’s spotty.

They do have WiFi but it’s very slow and not secure.

Place is very pet friendly. The people we have met here are great.

Sites are wide but really close together.

    Hocking Hills KOA Holiday

    Great first time KOA experience

We have never stayed at a KOA before and were very happy with this campground. The staff were friendly and professional, the sites were clean, and there were a wide variety of sites to choose from. From primitive tent sites tucked back in the woods to large RV sites with water/sewer/electric/cable hookups. We are first-time owners of a 29 ft Fifth Wheel and got a pull-through site. It offered little in the way of privacy, which was the only negative about the whole experience. Our site included a fire ring and a picnic table, along with all the hook ups. The night we arrived we were too tired to cook so ordered a pizza from the front office and they delivered it to our site. They also deliver wood directly to you. They escort you directly to your site so you don't get lost or go down a one-way road the wrong way. There was a nice little pool, but it wasn't open for the season yet. The shower houses were immaculate. The front office includes a little gift shop, ice cream, and pizza. This campground was also located close (within a few miles) to all the main hiking trails, and about 12 miles from Logan. The little road going up to the campground is VERY bumpy. It's not the campground road, it belongs to the Township, so its completely out of their ability to make improvements. This was only our second time out in our fifth wheel camper so it was a little scary, but we just drove slow and our truck handled it just fine. We will definitely be back to this wonderful campground as we love Hocking Hills.

    Hocking Hills State Park Campground

    Great Ohio State Park Campground

Amazing trails walkable right from the campground. Old mans cave, upper & lower falls. Bathroom was clean. Showers were ok. My site 108 was not deep, but was wide. Great for my 5X9 travel trailer, but probably not good for a big rig. Shaded & right near the shower house was a plus.

One-Night Adventure: Our Shakedown Trip in the New Travel Trailer

Campsite Review for Site 6 – Gateway to Wayne National Forest

Our recent camping trip at this campground was an excellent way to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of Wayne National Forest. The serene forest setting provided a perfect backdrop for a relaxing outdoor adventure, with the campground offering all the basics needed for a comfortable stay.

We stayed at Site 6 in our travel trailer, enjoying the ease of a pull-through site. Although the water and electric hookups are on the opposite side unless you drive through the loop the wrong way, this setup has an unexpected benefit—it faces directly toward the woods. This orientation allowed us to savor the tranquility of the forest, adding a layer of privacy and a more intimate connection with nature.

While the sites are decently sized, they are closely positioned with minimal separation, which might limit privacy in other areas. However, the majestic surroundings of Wayne National Forest more than make up for this. The proximity to hiking trails, wildlife sightings, and the peaceful ambiance of the trees create an immersive experience that’s hard to beat.

All in all, this campground is a fantastic base for exploring Wayne National Forest. The combination of basic amenities, convenient access, and the enchanting forest environment makes it a great spot for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

    Carthage Gap

A real slice of American camping

This is a fantastic camp ground, the owners Chris and Teresa are fantastic people and the grounds are just majestic. Sitting above two fishing lakes, one you can swim in during the summer the campground is peaceful and tranquil and next to some amazing woodland.

The camping ground caters all campers and rv’s and has full sewer hook up and water. Wash houses with showers, toilets and washing machine and dryer is available. You can have firewood delivered daily, you propane refilled and Chris and Teresa are always there to help you. this is on top of the events pavilion where something is always on. A basket ball court and two playgrounds make this ideal for family’s. On season event calendar includes archery clinics and annual hog roast and more.

the grounds are 30 minutes away from the Wayne national forest and Athens and parkersburg. The beautiful Marietta and hocking valley hills sit an hour away. Simply breathtaking

Lake View Campground — Beech Fork State Park

    Beautiful and secluded

We visited in the end of October 2021. The colors and the views were spectacular. The drive into the park was very curvy mountain back roads. The site included a fire pit with grill and a picnic table. There was a fair amount of space between sites. Approximately 50-75 feet apart. The bath house was nice but could use a little refreshening. There are many activities including a shooting range, frisbee golf course, swimming pool, playground just to name a few. With Verizon as our service provider no cell signal was available at the park. Overall, we give 3 stars. Minus one star for no cell service and minus another star due to maintenance. Overall, very nice park.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Oasis Point RV Resort features catch-and-release fishing on a stocked pond. According to one visitor, "There is a good size lake for swimming, they have stand up paddle boards and kayaks. There is a smaller pond for fishing, I'm pretty sure it's catch and release" (Dustin M.).

Water activities: Oasis Point RV Resort & Adventure Lake offers various water recreation options beyond traditional camping. A camper noted, "On the other side of the lake there is a large water slide and a zip line that both end in the water" (Dustin M.).

Explore local aviation: Robert Newlon Airpark RV Park provides a unique camping experience near an active airfield. One visitor shared, "This is one of the more unique campgrounds we have stayed. The park is located on a local airstrip with parachutists, apparently jumping on Sundays" (Jason G.).

Hiking trails: Iron Ridge at Lake Vesuvius offers extensive hiking networks. A camper remarked, "Great hiking and Lake Vesuvius is small but beautiful. Also, there's a hidden gem of a cave/overhang along one of the hiking trails" (Corey M.).

What campers like

Privacy levels: Iron Ridge - Lake Vesuvius provides more secluded sites than many area campgrounds. According to a review, "Nice, quiet campground. Not a ton of privacy, but much better than an RV park. More shade and privacy here than the nearby Oak Hill campground on the other side of the lake" (Corey M.).

Natural settings: Unlike some developed RV parks, certain campgrounds maintain wooded environments. A camper at Iron Ridge noted, "I LOVE camping here, unlike a lot of camp grounds they're actually within the woods so you feel like you're actually part of the forest and the nature" (Jackson B.).

Site spacing: Valley Breeze RV Campground maintains clean facilities with adequate site separation. A visitor observed, "The folks that run this RV park are very nice and obviously have a lot of pride in their place. Valley Breezy is very well kept and clean" (Tahnee M.).

Unique amenities: Farver Acres provides exceptional privacy compared to typical RV campgrounds near Patriot, Ohio. One camper shared, "With three spacious gravel sites nestled in a quiet, serene setting, it truly felt like our own private escape from the world. We didn't see another person for four full days" (Hannah).

What you should know

Site availability limitations: Saint Albans Roadside Park offers limited camping spots. A visitor noted, "It has 3 spots for RV's. No tent camping spots but right beside a park for kids and right on the river" (Teresa Q.).

Noise considerations: Train noise affects multiple RV parks in the region. At Robert Newlon Airpark, a camper observed, "The trains are close and do blow their whistle for crossing by the office" (Cheryl T.).

Booking policies: Krodel Park Campground has specific payment procedures. A camper explained, "They only accept cash or check and you pay when you get there. I wasn't assigned a reservation number but the owner said assured me I had a spot booked and it's just her and her husband that work there" (Karen).

Water pressure variations: Some campgrounds have unusually high water pressure. A camper at Iron Ridge warned, "Beautiful place to camp. Some sites are more difficult for parking a camper than others. We stayed at site 6 which wasn't too difficult to park but the water pressure was extremely high" (Wendi L.).

Connectivity options: Some campgrounds offer unexpected internet access. A Farver Acres visitor noted, "We were pleasantly surprised by the fast campsite internet" (Hannah).

Tips from RVers

Utility hookup quality: Various RV campgrounds Patriot, Ohio region offer different quality levels for hookups. At Oasis Point, a camper observed, "Quiet spot next to an industrial area. Nice view of man-made lake with a number of fishing huts for catch-and-release fishing. Helpful owner who escorted us to our campsite with full service hookups" (Jacqueline H.).

Weather considerations: Robert Newlon Airpark can have drainage issues. A visitor cautioned, "The sites did hold a bit of water after a strong rain, be prepared if bad weather is expected" (Jason G.).

Parking challenges: Some campgrounds have difficult access for larger rigs. At Krodel Park, one RVer noted, "Pulled in late at night around 9pm, map was slightly confusing and our site number was facing the opposite direction of what you would think. The sites are very tight and hard to pull into" (Luna L.).

Site leveling: Look for campgrounds with level pads to simplify setup. A Valley Breeze visitor reported issues with stay duration policies: "I was going to be in the area for 5 days. I went to the office, asked for 4 nights, I have a 2021 travel trailer. He said 'overnight only'" (Jerry S.).
