Finley Point Unit's spacious waterfront sites accommodate tent and RV camping with pets, offering direct access to Flathead Lake for dogs that enjoy swimming. Diamond S RV Park and Eagle Nest RV Resort also welcome pets with designated pet walking areas and waste stations. Full hookup sites at these campgrounds provide convenient amenities for campers traveling with dogs. The pet-friendly areas remain clean and well-maintained, with several campgrounds providing grassy spaces ideal for dog exercise. Sites at Finley Point feature picnic tables and fire rings where pets can relax alongside their owners while maintaining leash requirements. Extremely clean facilities and friendly staff make these campgrounds particularly welcoming for guests with three-legged or special needs pets.
Hiking trails surrounding Flathead Lake offer excellent opportunities for on-leash dog walks with scenic views. During summer months, early morning or evening walks help prevent pet paw burns on hot surfaces while providing cooler temperatures for active dogs. Mere's Magic Trout Pond features tent camping with canoe access and potable well water, creating a quiet getaway for campers with pets seeking a more rustic experience. Wildlife encounters require keeping pets securely leashed, particularly in areas frequented by deer. Big Arm State Unit accepts a variety of accommodation types including tents, RVs, cabins, and yurts—all pet-friendly with designated areas for dog relief. Most campgrounds maintain quiet hours after 10 PM to prevent excessive barking disruptions, with day use areas occasionally creating higher traffic periods campers with noise-sensitive pets should consider when planning.

This is one if the prettiest and cleanest campground we have ever stayed at. The sites are gravel, mostly level and most sites have shad. The pull through sites on the outer edge do not but others inside do. The laundry and bathhouse was very nice and clean. $2.00 per load to wash. There is flowers everywhere and they have a sprinkler system to keep everything pretty so you can’t leave anything out overnight that you don’t want to get wet. They mow each Thursday and are constantly doing upkeep on the grounds. FHU was a plus and made our stay enjoyable. There is a small dog park but it’s mostly in the sun so we chose to enjoy walks. The only downside (if I had to find one) was the train close by that was very squeaky as it went by. But I never heard it during the night.
This is a very well cared for campground. Beautiful flowers, trees, landscaping throughout the park. Very clean and loved. Store has a bit of everything you need. Fenced in dog park. Clean bathrooms and laundry facilities. Very enjoyable stay!
This hike into the lakes is not for the faint of heart, but the most breath taking views of Montana at its finest. There are plenty of Brook trout and huckleberries to eat at each trail and lake. There is also a lot of wild life, including mountain goats, moose, deer, and elk. Please make sure when bringing pets that they know not to chase these animals and always look at fire reports before heading into this area.
I was a bit apprehensive when the sign read, “RV park, casino” (restaurant, motel).....but! This place is nice. Sites are close, so prepare to be friendly. Highway is close by as well, so you will hear some traffic noise. A train occasionally runs slowly across the river. Campground nicley maintained. But, the lawnmower is out there everyday!!! Loud and unneeded. Shower and Laundry available. Nice quiet road to walk pets. And beautiful view of river and mountainside.
Te lake is beautiful and the sites are really close to the lake. Better privacy than is typical. Pets allowed and the store is close.
Private campground. Level sites, stayed in #6 right by office. Sites fairly close together. Nice pet walk area. Showers clean. Full hookups. Solid, clean, well kept place to stay.
This place is amazing and Steve the host was extremely kind and helpful. We brought our short RV and camped next to a horse corral. Our two kids had a great time petting and feeding the two horses and riding bikes around the property. It's clear that Steve takes great pride in this property and everything is well taken care of. This site almost deserves to be the lead photo on thedyrt.com website because it is exactly the off-the-beaten-path that many of us are looking for. We definitely plan to visit again if we're in the area.
Stayed in a cabin for a couple nights and had a great stay! You can hear a bit of road noise due to being in town and near the main road, but everything else was great: clean, showers, laundry facilities, near groceries/restaurants, pet-friendly, etc.
