Best RV Parks & Resorts near Martinsdale, MT

Several RV parks provide overnight and extended-stay options near Martinsdale, Montana. Conestoga Campground & RV Park in White Sulphur Springs offers full hookups with electric, sewer, and water connections and operates from May through October. Chief Joseph City Park in Harlowton features pull-through sites with 50-amp electric service on asphalt pads that accommodate larger RVs. "A very nice small town campground east of Montana's front range. Several level pull-through RV sites with electricity," noted one camper about Chief Joseph. Spring Creek Campground along the Boulder River provides some sites with 50-amp service and water hookups, while others offer electric only, with gravel pads that can handle RVs up to 32 feet in length.

Between Bozeman and Martinsdale, RV camping options require different levels of preparation. Cell service varies considerably throughout the region, with Spring Creek receiving 3 bars on Verizon while more remote locations have limited connectivity. Dump stations are scarce, with Conestoga being one of the few parks offering this service. Martinsdale Reservoir Montana FWP accommodates RVs but lacks hookups or drinking water, making it suitable for self-contained units only. Pet policies differ across campgrounds—Chief Joseph and Conestoga welcome pets, while some fishing access sites have restrictions. For travelers with larger motorhomes, advance planning is essential as mountain access roads can be challenging, especially during shoulder seasons when weather conditions may change rapidly.

Spring Creek Campground & Trout Ranch

    Nice park

Nice park. Sites are okay. Ours was one of the better ones. Spacious and level gravel pad with large grassy area on patio side. Our site was 50 amp full hookups. Many weren’t. Couple of small fishing ponds. Campground is situated on Boulder River. Office staff was friendly. Laundry facility was clean but dated. (Harvest gold dryers from the 70’s dated). Great proximity to downtown big timber, MT. One grocery store (IGA). 30 min from Livingston.

Great park to get some rest!!

Great small town RV park. $20.00 per night with electric. No sewer or dump station. Water on site but not to RV pads. Level, asphalt pads are all pull-through and long enough for my truck and 32 foot 5th wheel. 50/30 amp hook ups. Park is attached to a rodeo grounds so you might check availability on the weekends. We were only going to stay one night but the park is so nice that we stayed another two nights.

Deadman’s Basin Montana FWP Campground 10/24 Stopover for one night in 10/24. The reservoir along which this cg lies is low this time of year. Reservoir must be prettier in the spring and early summer when the water level is higher. (Scale 1- bad, 5-Very good

Spring Creek Campground & Trout Ranch

Love the Sound of the River

We followed our RV GPS right to the campground (CG), which is a favorite of ours for a two-night stay. Check-in was quick and easy. We proceeded to Deluxe River site 18 with 30 AMP and water. You can angle the rig in as you want to get set up on the wide pad area. The utilities were in the middle of the gravel pad, and we could park where our 9’ patio could come out to enjoy the gorgeous view of the river. They have free WiFi, but it was not very fast, and we used our Starlink. There are mature trees here, but we got a clear shot north for Starlink. We got 3 bars on Verizon. The water pressure was okay. Talking to our next-door neighbors, who have stayed here over the years, this CG is under new management by a couple who also owned a KOA in Billings. There are already changes, such as getting rid of the cabins and putting in some new FHU sites. There may be plans for new cabins in the future. We also noticed that from staying here in September 2019, the ponds are now state-stocked, and you need a Montana fishing license following regular fishing regulations versus no-license pay for the trout you catch. They also have a military and senior discount, but this wasn't mentioned/given when we made our reservations online. We mentioned it to the lady who checked us in, but she didn't offer to refund us the discount like other CG's have done in the past. There is no dog park, but there’s plenty of area to walk your dog. Someday we are going to plan a longer than two-day stay so we can further explore the area and fly fish the river.

    Many Pines Campground

    Really get away

This campground is in the mountains. No phone service so you can really get away from everyday life. It is in the lewis and clark national forest so help isn't too far away. There should also be onsite caretakers. You will find running water and outhouses. The creek is nearby as well as great hiking spots. It is just below showdown ski resort. It is a favorite of ours.

    Cottonwood Reservoir Dispersed Camping

Overnight at a lake with mountain view

A few sites, close toe Hyw 89 through a Texas gate. We camped for a night and it's a beautiful space with stunning views and a reservoir right at the spots. No fire rings a little bit a rough road 4x4 and higher clearance recommended. Better no enter with big rigs or trailer. But a beautiful place to spend time.

    Skidway

Camping in the colors of Fall

The fall colors are out today.  The ground vegetation was in reds and yellows, the aspen trees ran from summer green to fall yellow and then all the mature green firs trees made for a pretty site in the campground.  This campground had been closed for a few years for tree removal, but that had little affect on the forest at the campground, only a few sites were really impacted by tree removal as plenty of trees remain.  Each site has a picnic table and metal fire rings.  long parking areas are helpful as several sites had limited flat ground available for tents outside of the parking area and picnic table location.  Several very long pull through sites are available as well.  One vault toilet for the campground and the water pump just across the camp road from it.  No trash service.  Cost is $15 per night.  Campground also has the Skidway X-C Ski trail trailhead.

    Chief Joseph City Park

    Nice City Park and Campground

This is a large park for a small town.  The campground mostly caters to the RV set with 20 pull through sites with hook ups.  Their are two tent camping sites with tables and fire pits, but room for more if you don't want a table and fire ring.  Tent camping is just $12.  Two other possible campsite at the opposite side of the park.  Very nice new and large playground area plus picnic shelter.  Site has a dumpster just for campers and a small log cabin has firewood available.  Campground and park are right along the river so be sure to bring that fishing pole.  Water is available.

    Chief Joseph City Park

    A delightful refuge.

A very nice small town town campground east of Montana’s front range. Several level pull-through RV sites with electricity. Dumpster and water hydrant near by in the campground. Large new community playground adjacent to the RV sites. Sparsely used in October/November. 14 day limit. We look forward to staying here again.
