Best Cabin Camping near Hot Springs, MT

Furnished cabins near Hot Springs, Montana range from rustic to modern accommodations at several campgrounds including Wild Horse Hot Springs and Nugget RV Resort. Most cabins feature electricity, heating systems, and basic furniture with varying sleeping arrangements from single beds to queen-sized options. "The cabin could've slept four and was equipped with a mini fridge, fan, heater, and microwave," noted one visitor about the Grinnell Cabin at Rocky Mountain Hi Campground. Bathroom facilities differ significantly between properties, with some cabins offering private bathrooms while others require guests to use communal restroom facilities. Several locations provide picnic tables outside cabins and fire rings for outdoor cooking and gathering.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. KOA properties in the region, including Whitefish-Kalispell North KOA and Polson-Flathead Lake KOA, offer standardized cabin accommodations with predictable amenities. Pet policies vary by property, with many allowing dogs for an additional fee. Reservations are strongly recommended during summer months when Flathead Lake attracts visitors. A camper wrote, "This cabin is so lovely, my dogs had a blast playing in the stream. I was happy to have a big real bed!" Most cabins remain open from May through September, though some properties like Wild Horse Hot Springs operate year-round with their hot springs as the main attraction.

Most cabins include beds but require visitors to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. Kitchen facilities range from fully equipped kitchenettes to simple microwaves or mini-refrigerators. Rollins RV Park and Eagle Nest RV Resort both feature on-site restaurants, reducing the need for extensive meal preparation. Firewood is available for purchase at many locations, though fire restrictions may apply during dry summer months. General stores at larger campgrounds stock basic provisions, while the towns of Polson and Whitefish offer full grocery shopping approximately 20-30 minutes from most cabin locations. Visitors staying multiple nights should plan to bring food supplies, as on-site options are typically limited to essentials.

Big Arm State Unit — Flathead Lake State Park

    Lakeside Camping on Flathead

The campground offers many lakeside campsites complete with picnic table and fire rings. There were 3 yurts for those interested. all vehicles, including camping vehicles, park alongside road; there are few, if any, pull-in sites. There is room for a tent or two in the sIte. Most of the lakeside sites also have a small amount of slope.

The camp hosts were absolutely fantastic! There is firewood and ice for sale at the park. Polson is about 20-30 mInutes away and has grocery stores, etc. If you go to Polson, check out The Cove Deli for some really great ice-cream.

The showers were really awkward, but did the job. They take $ coins (available from host if needed) and quarters.

If you aren’t bringing your own boat, Boat Rentals and Rides is only 2 miles down the road. We rented 2 glass bottom kayaks. Warning: lake conditions change suddenly and we saw the waves blow in 2 dIfferent directions durIng the 2 days we were there. There were no bear boxes at the sites, only one by the bathroom.

    The Sanctuary Campground

    BEST VIEWS AND HOT SHOWERS!

The have lots of campsites, group sites, small cabins, and big cabins!  We rented a big cabin for the 6 of us!

They have restrooms with hot showers! There were lots hiking trails and ATV riding trails!

The views looking at the Rocky Mountains were breath taking!  There was a community area where we could hang out and have a bonfire!

And the price was so reasonable!

    Whitefish-Kalispell North KOA

    Family friendly, not really “camping”

If you’re looking for family friendly, this is your spot. Lots of kids activities. Free breakfast. Washrooms, showers and laundry facility available. Scenically, it’s not very pretty. Sites are very close together with little privacy. Our spot was so small we couldn’t fit our tent, picnic table and fire pit in it. We had to park somewhere else, and move the picnic table our. If you prefer exploring nature and quiet, this isn’t the park for you.

Finley Point Unit — Flathead Lake State Park

A little taste of Lake Tahoe

We loved this place ! This is a peaceful, very well taken care of CG . It’s about 3 miles of the main road around Flathead lake , nestled in a beautiful lakeside neighborhood. The road to the CG is well paved & dotted with lovely lake homes , orchards & a few fresh produce stands if the season is right. Everyone’s yards were chocked FULL of deer!! They were everywhere! I never get sick of seeing deer & this was no exception. They were thick as thieves & a fun sight to see! Nothing like a ton of deer to welcome you on your travels . Once at the CG we were greeted by a friendly ranger , given some nifty area maps / info & kindly guided to our site. Our site was fantastic. Site 5 in an upper loop. It was up on an overlook & had a fantastic view of the lake thru a few beautiful pines. The site was paved, level & super easy to back into with a travel trailer. We sprung for an electric site. There’s a picnic table & fire ring too. There aren’t many trees between sites but they are well spaced & situated so that you aren’t staring into your neighbors site full on. Once we got settled in we took a stroll & followed a little path leading from the upper sites down to the water front sites & boat slips & beach. There’s a designated beach area where there are rv sites & tent sites available. While I wanted to be lakeside, these sites are a little bit busier & bustling due to the beach area & boaters. It’s to be expected at a CG with such a big boat launch area. It got a little busy during the day but it completely tolerable, & we cherish our peace & quiet ! If you just walk down a small strip of shoreline from the designated beach area, there is an area of small shore that’s quieter & less populated. The tent sites in this area looked very cool. Overall we found this CG to be lovely. It was actually pretty quiet despite some minor boat activity & beach noise. Somehow it all just blended into the background buzz. Everyone seemed to be respectful of the area & just wanted to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The grounds are well kept & the hosts are hard at work staying on top of things . And all the hosts were very nice . This park is also very pet friendly! There are cute little statins set up , fully stocked with poops bags & Flathead Lake personalized leaves . Such a thoughtful touch! We loved this place so much , we stayed two days , left for a night , then ended up coming back for another 2 days !

    Rollins RV Park

    Clean and well maintained

Our first time to Flathead lake. Spots were booking up quick around the lake. Found this gem, got a spot reserved for Labor Day weekend. The park is very clean and well maintained. They will pick up your trash daily. Very quiet. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because they told us there is excellent WIFI throughout the park but the site we were in (spot #14) was too far away from The repeater. So I had to walk over to the park to send a work email. But do we really need WIFI camping?? You can’t have a fire in your own spot but they have several community fire pits stocked with wood that you can use. Nice park for the kids to play. The restaurant had amazing food. The spot across the highway for the lake was also well maintained. Incredibly clear and gorgeous water. We rented a pontoon boat from the rv oark and explored the lake. The boat rental for a whole day is equivalent to a 4 hour rental near Spokane. Great prices. Will be going back yearly.

    Polson-Flathead Lake KOA

    Beautiful campground

Beautiful spot with great views of Flathead Lake. The RV sites were nice and spacious and level with their own patio and chairs. They also offer cabins and tent sites. Some tent sites have water and electric. I was car camping and I had a strange campsite by the cabins for a tent but I couldn't park at the site. There was a small lot close by so that was fine but it also seemed pretty far from the bathrooms. The bathroom was very clean and I loved the private showers. The laundry area was spacious and clean. They also had several brochures on local activities. The wifi didn't seem to reach the tent sites though.

Finley Point Unit — Flathead Lake State Park

    Fast Track Finley

Ahhhh. Finley point. 3rd trip here. I haven’t been here in 9 years and expected it to be the same. Sadly I was mistaken. BIg changes here. It’s not the quiet place It used to be. We arrived around 4pm only to find our parking space taken by day users. Disappointed that at a reserved site this was allowed. It was pure chaos boaters everywhere, people all over and very noisy. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing spot, don’t come here! The view is as nice as ever and tent area by the water is nice. Vault toilets wIth hand sanitIzer, dont see this often, and no showers. Pet friendly with stations for doggie clean up bags.

Guide to Hot Springs

Cabin rentals near Hot Springs, Montana provide convenient access to the region's natural springs, mountain views, and recreation areas. Located in a northwestern Montana valley with elevations around 2,700 feet, the area experiences warm summers and cold winters. Most cabin facilities remain accessible by paved roads year-round, though specific cabin availability varies seasonally.

What to do

Lake access activities: At Big Arm State Unit, cabins and yurts place you minutes from water recreation. "My daughter and I spent 2 nights in this campground in August 2017. Our site was right on the lake. We enjoyed a very lazy day hanging out, reading and swimming," notes Stephanie S. Boat rentals available at several locations for exploring Flathead Lake.

Hot springs soaking: Wild Horse Hot Springs offers multiple mineral pools for guests. "They have a huge variety of separate pools to choose from. $35 for tent spot and $14 per person to soak in their hot spring pools," writes Melita B. Many visitors combine cabin stays with day passes to the springs.

Hiking trails: Most cabin locations provide access to nearby trails. "There are showers but overall a nice simple campground. There are some hiking trails here, great wildlife, but boating is the main attraction," explains Justin S. about Big Arm State Park. Trail maps available at most cabin rental offices.

What campers like

Private accommodations: Cabins at Nugget RV Resort provide more privacy than tent camping. "Great for family reunions. So many amenities. When we pulled in my husband called it 'bougie'," reports Kallie N. Most cabins include basic furnishings and separate sleeping areas.

Waterfront views: Campers frequently mention lakeside locations as highlights. "Most of the sites are along the water, and there's a boat launch and hiking trails too. Staff is very friendly and the views of the lake and Wild Horse Island are incredible!" writes Juliana H. about Big Arm State Park. Morning views particularly noted in reviews.

Year-round options: Unlike tent camping, cabin rentals extend the camping season. "Spots were booking up quick around the lake. Found this gem, got a spot reserved for Labor Day weekend," Brett T. explains about Rollins RV Park. Reservations recommended 3-6 months in advance for summer stays.

What you should know

Reservation requirements: Summer cabins book quickly, especially at popular locations. "Views were great, staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the stop if they have a spot open," notes Haley S. about Big Arm State Park. Winter availability more flexible at year-round facilities.

Variable amenities: Cabin facilities range widely between properties. "Grinnell Cabin is set on the eastern edge of the campground and on the edge of a beautiful meadow. The full moon rose over the meadow and the sunrise was magical the next morning," describes Tucker B. about Rocky Mountain Hi Campground.

Noise considerations: Some locations experience periodic noise from nearby roads or trains. "This whole place has a swanky feel. It's off a busy road - that's pretty much the main drawback," Bjorn S. mentions about Rollins RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Several cabin locations provide play areas for children. "We were unaware that the city of Kalispell had a no overnight parking ordinance and got kicked out of our Walmart spot. It was a good thing though because if not we would have missed this gorgeous park. Our kids took advantage of the large playground," shares Kelsey B. about Rocky Mountain Hi Campground.

Swimming options: Look for cabins with swimming access during summer months. "Had a great time here in May despite the water still being cold it didn't stop my kids from plunging in. The reservable sites have lake access and views," explains Jed D. about Big Arm State Park.

Entertainment facilities: Whitefish-Kalispell North KOA offers extensive family activities. "This campground has it all. Lots of fun for the kids with mini golf, bikes, paddle boats, and arcade games. Free breakfast in the morning was a great touch," notes Chad L.

Tips from RVers

Parking considerations: Some cabin areas have limited parking for additional vehicles. "The only thing we didn't love was the parking situation for guests or extra vehicles, but since it's a small place, we understand that it can be limited," shares Brian C. about Rollins RV Park.

Cell service: Coverage varies between cabin locations. "Nice campground, a bit tight if you are a bigger rig but doable in the right spot, 2-3 bars of AT&T 5g, good enough to work, and quite all night," reports Hailey M. about Big Arm State Park.

Dump stations: Many cabin guests traveling with RVs appreciate on-site dump facilities. "Full hookup sites, big rig friendly, and great location. Office staff is friendly and helpful. Good nightly rate for the area," writes Joseph H. about Rocky Mountain Hi Campground.
