Very family friendly camping. We stayed on Bridge island. Site 194. Here there is a common parking area and you carry or use the 1 cart they provide to haul all your gear to your site. The island is lacking in trees so there is a shortage of shade. It seems there once was as there are a lot of tree stumps! The picnic benches do have a very nice shell covering though. The swimming area is small and was crowded. The marina is very busy and seems a great place If yII have a boat. The bathroom facilities are nice and a laundry mat is on site. Showers are pay with quarters and there is a change machine in the shower room. Also, there is a very nice camp store if you have forgotten any necessary items. A beautiful place to stay!
Ahhhh. Finley point. 3rd trip here. I haven’t been here in 9 years and expected it to be the same. Sadly I was mistaken. BIg changes here. It’s not the quiet place It used to be. We arrived around 4pm only to find our parking space taken by day users. Disappointed that at a reserved site this was allowed. It was pure chaos boaters everywhere, people all over and very noisy. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing spot, don’t come here! The view is as nice as ever and tent area by the water is nice. Vault toilets wIth hand sanitIzer, dont see this often, and no showers. Pet friendly with stations for doggie clean up bags.
This campground far exceeded our expectations. We arrived a bit earlier on a stoo over than we had planned. That gave us a bIt more tIme to explore the lake and traIils. We tent camped overlooking the lake and it was an amazing view and sunrise. The bathroom was the nicest I have seen yet in a camp. Very clean but the showers are quarters only. There is a change machine just outside though. InsIde the bathroom facilities there is also a laundry mat. It’s a great place to bring your boat and kids as there is a nice playground area as well.
Trees! Beautiful park with a lot of trees and a tropical feel too. Will be going back! Good hiking trails and very attentive camp host.
We camped here in October. It was during turkey roosting time so parts of the park were off limits at certain hours. It was easy to plan around that and have a great time. I would say this park is a hidden gem. shhhhhh!!! The river is fantastic and my son had a great time fly fishing. The lake was great for fishIng too. We rode the bike trails. Great trails for all levels of riders. Deer visited during the early and late hours and a cool stick bug liked our tent. We saw a few turkeys too. Great place!
We have stayed here 2 times and loved it both times. Our time in the park was shorter than we would have liked but we cannot wait to go back and explore more. Love the support for the MS150. The rangers were some of the nicest and extremely helpful.
Great park for wildlife viewing and walking trails. There is always something interesting going on in the swamp! Very hot in the summer! Wonderful for day use and camping.
We really enjoyed the stay here over Memorial Day weekend. The pull through sites were fantastic. There was plenty of room for everyone, even on a busy holiday! Fishing from the shore left a bit to be desired but it looked like thete were better areas if you have a boat. There was plenty to do to keep 4 teenage boys entertained for 3 days.
I stayed for a few days in a yurt. What fun! The park was quiet the weekdays I was there. The bird watching blind is great! Well maintained and lots of bird activity. Very nice clean facilities.
