    Everything I could ask for

A beautiful campground located right next to the Missouri River. Live music, amazing Thai food, general store with snacks, beer, ice cream and merchandise. A bathroom (in addition to portapotties) as well as indoor shower. Very kind people all around

Prettiest sunset on the Missouri River

Super friendly people. They had gotten flooded out two weeks before I got there so there were a few things being rebuilt. They still offered everything they could to me including an indoor shower and bathrooms. A perfect spot if you want to escape road noise and light pollution and be lulled to sleep by the noise of the river not but eight feet away.

    Lakeview Park - Mexico

    Quiet RV/City Park

We camped in a 32' Class C for 7 days during the Miss Missouri Pageant. It's a quite little park with maybe 15-20 sites with electric only. There is potable water and sewer dump on site. So W of the sites could be considered pull through depending if you have a neighbor or not. Some of the camp sites are arranged like a standard parking lot where you back in or pull in nose to nose or bumper to bumper depending on your type of rig. There is a fair amount of shade. The RV park is also the city park so there is a fair amount of traffic in and out during the day but not too bad. There is a playground area, bicycle /walking path as well as public flush toilets and a pavilion. It worked perfectly for our needs.

    Pleasant surprise

This was a nice short notice trip we took. Only downside is it’s near MU, so throughout the day, you get a lot of kids hanging out until the “quiet hours” set in. Next time we’ll bring bikes and hop on the trail.

Also, we caught an AMAZING sunset from our site!

    Mostly Scenery.

I do Not like that the fire pits nearest to the river are 30 inches from a 30ft drop off!  Only 2 people can enjoy the campfire because of that.

Secondly, they do Not provide tables for the campers.  Kinda expensive to Not have tables.

Not a good fishing place because it's a treacherous walk down.

    The evening band was awesome!

Will Not be back because of the above.

MO River & Katy trail fun

See beautiful scenery on the MO River & Katy Trail. You may get to see a paddleboat cruising the river. Cooper’s has spectacular sunsets, a boat ramp, dock, trails, bonfires, live music, and a very friendly atmosphere.

The Katy trail runs through the edge of the property, offering quick access to trail walking, hiking, and bicycling.

The general store has many options including a wide variety of food and drinks. It also has a small bicycle repair area set up outside.

I highly recommend the delicious Thai food restaurant on site.

    Prices are very reasonable.

    Hanson Hills Campground

    Fun night!

Very relaxed place. Kinda drive in and park anywhere you see a firepit. We had a rooftop tent on the truck and a tent. We camped near the smaller pond. The spot was fine and there wasn’t a ton of tent campers so we had the place to ourselves. The portapotties were gnarly but the toilets/showers behind the office were clean and had hot water. Staff was friendly when we checked in and we bought an armfull of fire wood and they even dropped it off where we parked in their sidebyside but it was damp so we had to scavage some smaller sticks to get the fire hot enough to self sustain. There was a lot of burned cans and some trash in our fire pit when we showed up so we threw it all away before we started our fire. Would stay again but it definitely isn’t a 5 star clean place. Think Ruth from Ozark show.

    Cooper’s Landing Campgrounds and Marina

    Loved it here

Leaving this magical place today. For anyone wanting to stay be aware they have live music Thursday through Sunday. They wrap everything up by 10pm and it’s very quiet late night. This weekend they had special events everyday related to the Katy trail right next to it. You will have water and electric but no sewer and no dump station on site. Plan your length of stay accordingly. In addition to the live music, food trucks come in and there is a cash bar/store with drinks, snacks, firewood and ice. It’s a very small campground and you are not walled off from the general public. If this is your style of camping you will really enjoy this place. Built in the 70’s on the banks of the Missouri River I had an amazing time. It was like being on vacation from my full time vacation lifestyle. I didn’t grocery shop the whole time.

Guide to Rocheport

Cooper's Landing Campgrounds and Marina provides glamping close to Rocheport, Missouri, on the banks of the Missouri River. Located approximately 7 miles south of Rocheport, the property sits at the confluence point where Perche Creek meets the Missouri River. The campground operates on relatively flat terrain with tent sites positioned on a bluff about 30 feet above the river, while RV sites offer more level access near the water.

What to do

Biking the Katy Trail: The trail runs directly through Hanson Hills Campground, offering a convenient access point for cyclists. "Very relaxed place. Kinda drive in and park anywhere you see a firepit," reports Blake M., who found the location ideal for trail access.

Fishing opportunities: Multiple stocked ponds at Cooper's Landing Campgrounds and Marina provide fishing access without needing to navigate the swift Missouri River current. "The river is wide and deep here. Current and undertows make it definitely not suitable for swimming. You can see the water swirling and churning," warns Brenda P. about river conditions.

Local exploration: Within 10 miles of Rocheport, visitors can access multiple wineries and historic sites. "We set up our tent and enos for the night on the way to Colorado. Even had phone service. Everything we could have asked for!" notes Rebecca M. about using Cooper's Landing as a base for local adventures.

What campers like

Riverside camping layout: Waterfront sites at Cooper's Landing provide unobstructed views. "Spots are tight and the party is next door, but looking to trying again when the music starts up. We were in a small trailer, fit the spot perfectly," explains Jim K.

Food options: Several campgrounds near Rocheport partner with local vendors. "Great food and views! I suggest trying the Thai food, but if you aren't into that they also have BBQ. This is a very relaxing spot and I recommend checking it out," suggests Charlotte B. at Lakeview Park.

Music and entertainment: Weekend entertainment creates a community atmosphere. "This weekend they had special events everyday related to the Katy trail right next to it. You will have water and electric but no sewer and no dump station on site. Plan your length of stay accordingly," advises Candy H.

What you should know

Hookup limitations: Most glamping close to Rocheport, Missouri offers partial hookups only. "You will have water and electric but no sewer and no dump station on site. Plan your length of stay accordingly," notes Candy H., highlighting the need to manage holding tanks for longer stays.

Seasonal considerations: Peak season runs April through October with highest demand during summer weekends. "This was a nice short notice trip we took. Only downside is it's near MU, so throughout the day, you get a lot of kids hanging out until the 'quiet hours' set in," reports Miles H. about university-related traffic patterns.

Site specifications: Cooper's Landing campsites vary significantly in size and layout. "I do Not like that the fire pits nearest to the river are 30 inches from a 30ft drop off! Only 2 people can enjoy the campfire because of that," cautions Jeanne K., noting site limitations.

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Campgrounds with dedicated children's areas provide entertainment options. "This was the best campground. We stayed over the labor day weekend and the campground was full of activities for the kids. There was a live band and karaoke. The pool was clean and the grounds were very clean and nice," shares Misty F. about her experience at Hanson Hills Campground.

Evening activities: Many campgrounds offer regular events through summer weekends. "It was a nice 5 day stay posts of room for your tent and parking. Play ground was very clean and pavilion had lots of outlets and picnic tables," notes Misty F. about facilities at Lakeview Park.

Kid-friendly fishing: Dedicated fishing ponds provide safer alternatives to river fishing. "The pond was a great place to relax and watch the kids reel in fish after fish. Everybody was respectful and quiet come night and morning," according to Misty F.

Tips from RVers

Navigating access roads: Some campgrounds near Rocheport have challenging approach roads. "Arrived late, be aware this is a good 5-10 minutes down a dirt road (after a rainy night it was not pretty pulling my trailer back to the highway). Hook ups where good, considering the remote location," cautions Olaf I.

Campsite positioning: RV sites at Cooper's Landing can be tight for larger units. "We camped in a 32' Class C for 7 days during the Miss Missouri Pageant. It's a quite little park with maybe 15-20 sites with electric only. There is potable water and sewer dump on site," explains Bert R. about the setup at Lakeview Park.

Reservation recommendations: For glamping accommodations near Rocheport, book at least 4-6 weeks in advance during peak seasons. "We had a great set up right on the river," notes one camper about securing prime locations through advance planning.
