ScoutWe have been coming here for years, many years. We love the staff and most of the neighboring campers. The lots are huge. Some years are better than others with upkeep of the grounds and bath house.

Not many people and half the sites are first come first served (easy to get a site in the middle of the week). Some road noise so we picked a site further back away from the road. Would stay again
GuideWe stayed here 1 night in July. It was convenient, the caretaker was helpful, we were close to the bathrooms and water, the bathrooms were clean, the showers were spacious, and we were right next to the wildlife sanctuary. We stayed in a site close to the caretaker’s residence. The downsides were that we were right on a bike path so people biked and walked by a lot and we were close to the road so there was road noise. There are quieter sites further back but they are far from the bathroom and water.

TravelerI have been staying here since I was a child. Twenty plus years later; this is still my choice of campgrounds in Michigan. The park is always clean. The Park Rangers are nice and helpful. The lot sizes are quite large. Each one has a firepit and a picnic table. The restrooms are close and always cleaned promptly. The lake and beach are also the best here; sandy and not full of rocks like other campgrounds. It's safe too. I have no problem with the kids going to the playground or riding their bikes and skateboards around the park. It really is a nice place to relax and get away from screens and the city life. 🌈😎

Pulling into the campground you notice a warm and welcoming couple greeting you, as if your were long lost cousins. The campsites are nicely laid out with comfortable amenities. With a soothing creek whispering in the background of our campsite, we set our camper up for a two week adventure in this northwestern part of Michigan. Just minutes away from Tawas, the atmosphere is relaxing and the birds add a melody to the air. During our stay we met several other campers will call this place there second home. Enjoying the area and the camp owners friend and helpful manner prompted us to schedule another trip this coming year. What a great place to spend a relaxing vacation.
ScoutWe stayed here on a Tuesday and Wednesday night. We were at site 96 right on the water. It was gorgeous and clean and there were lots of spaces. The bathroom wasn’t bad but the water was cold. The showers were nice and have a private toilet in them as well. The fire pits are nice and every site comes with an electric hookup. Tons and tons of paved hiking trails. Pet friendly. Best part was checkout was at 1pm instead of 10am. Felt like it was more a family campground though so probably won’t be revisiting myself. $30/night for a tent site and wood is available on site for $7/bundle. Wood comes from a “vending machine” so it’s always dry and ready to burn which came in handy durning the rain. I did also see an area for water and sewer dumping as well.
ScoutWe found it by accident in 2024 in June. Stayed on the lakeside electric only site and loved it so much we ha d our last camp of the year there as well. Park is well kept and staff are very friendly and helpful. Starting our 1st spring camp trip here in 2025.
