The owners were constantly driving around and correcting people. Rules are okay but they were over the top. They would even stop and just stare at our site while we sat outside.. it was very odd. Also not kept up at all. The playground was old and my 30 lb dog slipped out from under the “dog park”…

Nice open field camping

At the moment they have 50 or 20 amp power, so you will need a 15 or 50 adapter to use 30 amp service. No water at camp sites, but they have a water fill station. Nice quiet and relaxing right on the lake.a small playground for the kids. Any size rv will fit. Shows require tokens if you wish to use…

The sites were kept very well. Lots of wildlife scurrying about. The water was clean and a gorgeous sunset.

Great place to stop

Nice people. Some sites are electric only, some include water. Not busy and quiet. Did not use bathhouse.

Primitive State Forest CG right on the Boardman River

I like the location; very secluded in the State Forest but only a half hour from downtown Traverse City. This facility meets the recreation need of a diverse cross section of Michigan residents. It’s a great home base or overnight camp for canoeists and kayakers (my particular interest). The camp…

About Average

Not very secluded + close to the road. Clean and well kept, and friendly DNR staff. Easy access to the lake, and not far from restaurants and gas stations-hence the road, lol. If you’re after middle-of-nowhere peace and quiet, keep looking. But if clean, comfortable and easy access to town/supplies…

Love Mack Lake

Great campground with great campground hosts. Large sites some with water views. Beach area. Clean pit toilets and water. Campground hosts had wood available when we were there.

Higgins Lake is home for me! Now that I have moved away, my high school friends and I reconnect at this campground. We are all from the area and had the pleasure of growing up right next to this beautiful lake! It is Crystal clear and walk out for a long ways before it drops off. The campground is…

Passable, but Buggy

The spots were quite close together and the name does not quite match the place. While I understand it is near the woods, it was extremely buggy and wish we visited the national park across the street instead. I liked that you could text with the site operator but caution the mannerism is very much…

Quiet and Clean!

This KOA was well kept and clean. Great bathrooms and showers, pool, playground. the only thing keeping from 5 stars in my opinion is the lack of grass, but I also love all the trees so it’s a toss up.

Nice Large Private Site #21

Bathroom was clean, site was large surrounded by tall pine trees. Picnic table was HC accessible. Fire pit ring. I'm a motocamper and suited my needs. No trash, so take what you brought in plus some.

Our last resort! But not a bad one.

Being that most of the camping spots up here are first come first serve our first two options were already taken. We fell back to this being our final option and it was not a bad one. Albeit there was a huge Gypsy moth spawn happening so the worms were literally everywhere but it wasn't too much of…
