Lake Claiborne State Park Campground offers pet-friendly tent, RV, and cabin camping with maintained trails and lakefront sites. All dogs must remain leashed throughout the park, including on the disc golf courses and along the King of the Mountain Trail with its wooden bridge and small waterfall. The bathhouse facilities are clean, climate-controlled, and well-maintained, making extended stays with pets more comfortable. Campers consistently report abundant wildlife viewing opportunities including whitetail deer, owls, and various waterfowl that can be observed while walking dogs around the grounds. Pet waste stations are positioned throughout the camping areas.

Beaver Dam Campground on Caney Lake permits pets at all 30 large, level sites with electric and water hookups. The spacious camping areas provide good separation between neighbors, allowing privacy while exercising pets. Dogs should remain closely supervised near the lake due to alligator presence, as campers have reported sightings of alligators up to ten feet long in the water. The Sugar Cane National Recreation Trail loops around the lake, providing excellent pet exercise opportunities, though dogs must remain leashed on all trails. Several lakefront sites offer direct water access where pets can cool off in designated areas away from boat traffic. Clean showers and restrooms are available, and camp hosts maintain the grounds daily, ensuring a pleasant environment for both pets and their owners.

      Cypress Black Bayou Recreation Area

      Great Park

This is a parish ran park that is very well maintained. Security measures are excellent. The park is shaded and all sites are either lake side or almost. There are back-in and pull-through sites. Not all of the park is FHU but they have three pull through dumps. There is a new bathhouse that is very clean and requires a code to be entered on a keypad for entry. There is a small wildlife sanctuary (zoo but no petting) and free roaming peacocks. Good fishing from the docks or by boat. The park is close to shopping, casinos, and restaurants. Love this park.

Huckleberry Hideaway Cabins & RV Resort – Primitive Tent Camping & RV Sites in Minden, LA

      Peaceful Retreat

Huckleberry hide is a little piece of heaven. You feel relaxed, your own private space, staff that are very friendly, you have trails to roam with your dog. They’re not long, but they’re really good. There’s restrooms and laundry room if needed near the front. They have a little dog park where your dog’s able to run off leash. If your dog is in training or sport training, they have a little thing up there set up as well. They got a little market when I accidentally forgot to get diced tomatoes when I was making spaghetti. That was a lifesaver. We have stayed at a cabin, which was nice and spacious. I had to get my mattress pad out for the bed, but overall it was a great cabin. Kristie has a little basket of snacks, a hairdryer, shaving cream, a razor, and a few other things underneath the cabinet in the bathroom in the cabin, just in case you forgot anything. This place has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a tea, kettle coffee maker, like a little coffee bar. My husband loved that part. She had the trash bags and little odd in things that you wouldn’t think about there just in case you needed it. They thought so far ahead. Even salt, pepper, and some spices that are a lifesaver as well when you don’t have everything you need from home. They have really went above and beyond. There’s a hot tub here. And 6 miles away at their private home you can schedule a two hour swim. You have to pay a little fee for it. You also can get a longer time again pay a little fee for it. I have not done that yet, but I am hoping to very soon. They have electric, sewer, water hook ups for an RV set up for you here. By the pond has to be 30 foot long so it can fit as well as park car. Long length available in the front area. If you haven’t tried this place before you really need to put it on the list. You won’t regret it. It is a little expensive for a week. It’s amazing. The Wi-Fi is not that great. So if you’re just needing a little time out from your phone and from life, it would be perfect for you. If you need to work, bring a little Wi-Fi booster and you’ll be perfectly fine. Great place in my books!

      Lake Bistineau State Park Campground

      Classic southern cypress setting

A taste of the swamps in north Louisiana. Spanish moss clad Bald Cypress trees in a stereotypical Louisiana lake. Two great boat ramps, cabins and picnic tables. Keep your small dogs on a leash or you may feed the gators. Mosquitoes big enough to land at Barksdale AFB.

      Lincoln Parish Park

      Beautiful convienent

Easy $25 for one night while traveling through west coast to east coast to relocate. We were doing hotel camping every other and this is one we decided on with its convenience to Walmart and many other food places. Ruston is also an adorable little downtown areas to explore and has that heart of Louisiana fill. It’s also close to west Monroe where Duck dynasty hometown so that was a fun plus to visit! We did stay in winter season with rain and cold. We have been tenting and enjoy being endured of all nature has so offer this has beautiful fishing hiking and a friendly camp host who was accommodating. They have wood for sale if needed. Water hookup ,electric hookup, showers bathrooms. Which we chose site 43 right next to the restroom house. I would love to come back when weather is better and we aren’t travel driving lagged to enjoy all it had to offer! You do receive a gate code when in person check in so if you book online see if you have received that too!

Lake D'Arbonne State Park — New Lake D'arbonne State Park

      Such a lovely place

Lake Darbonne is our first experience with camping. I really didn’t know what to expect but we really loved it : the staff is really helpful, the campsite is really cosy (and not crowded during week days), the view on the lake is beautiful, etc.

We already planned to go back there on our way home to Louisiana.

      Cinnamon Creek RV Park

Basic parking with full hook ups

On a highway in a very impoverished small town. Road noise constant. Clean. Gravel parking area pull throughs with full hook ups. Mostly filled with residents. Office was closed. No gate, no security. Called number to check in and seemed to ruin older woman's day by calling. "Grass" to walk dogs was solid stickers. Broken fence leading into a Mexican restaurant next door featured many loud drinkers wandering their parking area. Felt unwelcome, not very safe, and won't return. Left at sunrise.

      Lake Claiborne State Park Campground

      Stunning Views with Great Amenities

We tent camp here in early Spring in the camping area #2 and comeback weekend after weekend. Many wonderfully marked hiking trails, two of the best frisbe golf courses in Louisiana. There's a nice little beach where the kids can play and a playground area as well. The bathrooms are clean and warm (welcome in the winter and spring). The pavement is well kept and great for kids to ride bikes or scooters. The King of the Moutain Trail is my favorite becaues of it's wooden bridge and tiny waterfall.

Water and electric hookups: Most dog friendly campgrounds near Homer offer partial hookups. At Beaver Dam Campground, "Sites are large and level with electric and water hookups" though most lack sewer connections at individual sites.

Campsite selection: Arrive early for better sites. At Lake Bistineau State Park, "They do have a wooden platform (almost like a deck) at most sites that is pretty cool" but "It would take a little work to get level in most of the sites from what I can see."
