This is a very quite well maintained park. It has restrooms and showers and even laundry.
Great campground, level, spacious sites, full hook ups. Beautiful park all around. It was very cold when we were there and the restrooms didn't have any heat. Probably don't need it most of the time. Other than no heat, the facilities were nice. Great stay .
$20 a night! With the state parks going up to around $45 a night this is my new favorite campground. Clean. Lots of hiking/ biking trails. Christmas Camping was a hit!
This park is amazing. The views are incredible. Although the heat and humidity were a bit much for this yankee, I couldn't get over the setting. We chose a site (of which there were many) with its own deck overlooking the bayou. It was a view right out of a painting. And the senior 50% discount was made it 200% better!
Drove up, did primitive for $6, electricity, sewer and water hookup was $12 for one night. View of the lake was beautiful. Plenty of open spots in December, also had bathroom with showers that worked and were clean. Would come again. Cash only
This is just the one campsite, but it's quite large and there's a turnaround which could be used for a second campsite if you have a vehicle that can handle it. The one at the top of the slope is better for larger vehicles though.
I'm not sure if my bus would easily be able to handle going down that slope, but someone drove around it very easily in a Jeep with no trailer.
When you enter the area, you'll see a split in the road. Take the right side and that's where this USACE campground is at.
The first thing I saw was the board. I usually check that just to make sure I know what's going on and it says you need a permit in order to stay here and you also need to check in and out every single time you leave the campground which is just stupid. There's no reason for this aside from they just want to track you.
Horrible Customer service !! The older women that is answering phones and questions was beyond rude and short . Tried to book for 4 days bc all of the booking info states that they offer daily fees of 50.00 was told they only do monthly stays now .. had emailed the day before and called the following day when I had not received any response …. ALL AROUND JUST RUDE in her whole tone demeanor and how she spoke to people …
I stayed at site 29 and the site was clean and level enough for my small camper. I went to plug in the power and the box was very old and no 30 amp plug. It only had a 50 amp and 110v plug. I have a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter but for some reason it was not in my box. I did have a 30 amp to 110v adapter so I had to go that route. There is a nice laundry, men and women’s bathroom with showers. On the men’s side of the 4 toilets 2 were out of service. The showers the water trickles out with little pressure but there was hot water. The showers along the walls need cleaning as there was mildew and maybe mold. The rest of the park was clean. The beach area and peers were very nice. There was dozens of people that are clearly living out here in the campground. Lots of them are really junked up. I paid $32 per night. You can tell this campground is minimally maintained given the broken toilets and unclean showers. The folks I met out here were super nice and very friendly. Fishing is really good and the swimming beach seemed very nice. They do have locked gates with security that makes rounds.
