    Buckhorn Dam Campground

    Ghost Town

The map for this campground isn’t quite accurate. Also, the price is $24 p/ night not $14. Not quite what we were looking for.

    Wave!

Spent 2 nights in July at Kentucky Splash Park Campground. Only reason it didn’t get a 5 star is first needs more shade (there are new trees growing ) and the cut through road is busy in the evening from local traffic. Nice size sites with cement or gravel parking. Cement pads with picnic tables and strangely deep fire pits.

The showerhouse is in well maintained shape. Plenty of room and hooks to hang your stuff from. Hot water and large shower heads.

Small playground and pavilion to use.

Easy walk across the parking lot to the water park. Price not included in site cost. If you get a wrist ban you can get back in for the day.

    Cherokee Lake Campground

    Great deal for the money!

Overall was impressed with the grounds! Well kept, and huge park. Only reason for 4 stars, is no sewer hookup on site. Several Dump stations on grounds, though they are free for guests. Very friendly Park Rangers at the check-in station. 30 amp hookups. Water hookup. Several Lake front spots. Shower and bathroom buildings on site. Several pavilions. Dumpsters, Lots of walking trails. As well as a boat ramp. For $25 a night, with my 28ft pull behind, I was very pleased with my stay! Will come back again!

    Cumberland Falls State Resort Park

    Small but Nice!

Easy to find, well marked. It’s has many (12) trails and many falls. Would definitely recommend shopping before camping, it’s several miles, and mountains, to get to stores. There are several lodging options…cottages, The Lodge, (which is beautiful) tent and RV camping. There are 2 small campgrounds ~ 1) Ridgeline which accommodates RVs up to 26”, water and 10/30/50 amp hook ups. Sites have a fire ring and picnic table. WiFi is available, and there is a dump station. A small playground, office/campstore, and a bathhouse and laundry next to it. 3 sites are walk-in. Big rigs would have to stay elsewhere. 2) Clifty Campground is tent camping only 7 sites offer electric and water. WiFi is also offered. There is a bathhouse and a playground, and these CG’s are pet friendly. (Falls Creek is a few miles up the road…they have pull through and back ins. For bigger Rvs. They also have tents, wagons, cabin rentals, and primitive sites) We had no T-Mobile service, or satellite service in our vehicle. The trails and Cumberland falls were awesome. The horse rides looked amazing, and the Pool was big, with a diving board, and a small fee for campers to use it.

Ride Royal Blue ATV Resort and Campground Pioneer, TN

    RV Heaven for ATV/OHV/SxS Camping!

Approximately 4 miles off of exit 144, from I~75. Easy to locate, and a well maintained RV campground! Website has all the info on the different types of sites, cabins and ATV’s. Resources for permits, pricing, and other requirements are also listed. The trails are accessible from the CG. FHUs on Back in and Pull-throughs,bathhouses, on site fishing pond, playground, and Ohhh yes….the ATV wash station! General store is on the right from the entrance, which is awesome! They sell firewood and ice, as well as extreme OHV sporting equipment/gear, snacks, souvenirs….to list a few. Rental cabins are available nearby, for larger families or groups. I believe they thought of almost everything! I would love to come camp here in the fall, as I can imagine that the views are spectacular! They provide WiFi, but my T-Mobile reception was good, at 3 bars.

    Amazing RV/ATV Park Campground

Located off I-75, exit 144. Approximately 2.7 miles on Stinking Creek Road, on the Right. Campground is Clearly marked and the office/store, is to the right, after going over a bridge. Sites are gravel, back in and pull through, FHU. They also have cabin and home rentals. There is a bathhouse, dog park, and trail access. A picnic table and fire ring are also at each site. There is an ATV washing bay. I had good reception with my T-Mobile, but they offer WiFi.

The Ridges At Royal Blue Campground

    RV park for ATV lovers

Easy to find off of I~75, exit 144. Approx. 2 miles down Stinking Creek Road, on the right. The entrance sign is easy to see. Go a short way down the gravel road. The bathhouse is on the right side, RV sites are straight ahead, and on the left. They are level, gravel sites, and 2 are pull through. There is a small playground, and there is ample spacing between each site. They are full hook ups, and appears that there are a few, with just water and electric. The views are just beautiful! The trails are accessible from the RV park. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The mother RV park, Ride Royal Blue, is up the road, approximately 2 miles on the right. The general store and office are located there. You can also buy firewood, ice, propane, and general necessities. There is also a diner, directly across the street. As well as an ATV service shop. My T-mobile service was three bars while I visited the RV park. There are no frills, but ATVers aren’t looking for that at this RV Campground.

    Big Creek Gap RV Park

    LaFollette, TN~RV Park~ATV access

Visited this RV Park conveniently located off of Hwy 25W, on a Wednesday afternoon, on the way into LaFollette. Minutes from shopping and restaurants. It has 12 Back-In sites, level gravel, with FHU. 30/50 amps Cost is $40 plus tax, per night. When you arrive a picnic table and fire ring will be set up at your assigned site. The sites are easy in and out, and long enough to accommodate your vehicle and your RV (and also an ATV, if you’re traveling with one) Access to The Cumberland Trail, ATV, and Tank Springs entrance, is literally across the street from the RV lot. You must call to make reservations Tuesday-Friday 8a-4p and on Sunday 11a-4p. I Had good T-Mobile reception with 3 bars.

    Eagle Rock Resort & Campground

    Amazing Area

Eagle Rock Resort & Campground is amazing. If you are looking for a place to ride trails and relax, this is the place. You could seriously come here multiple times a year and still not see all of the different trails. The site manager, Jeff, and his staff was extremely nice and helpful. Always there to please and help make your experience one to remember. I am not the camping type so the condos they have for rent was perfect for my group. Spacious and clean with everything you need. We even had very comfortable king size bunk beds, never seen anything like it before. Cannot say enough great things about this experience. Definitely worth a stay!!!

    Patrick’s Point River Camp

    A great little getaway spot!

We will absolutely be back! I’ll be honest, as a visibly queer person with rainbow hair I was a bit nervous about the Bible verses and Christian flag due to past experiences, but Patrick and Angelica were welcoming and friendly the entire time!

The RV spot with shade was great! It’s right next to the bathroom but everyone is spread out enough it wasn’t an issue at all.

Strong WiFi, pet friendly, and a beautiful, peaceful spot with very friendly owners!

    Palmers Junction Dispersed Camping

Not too shabby for the south

Lots of lil cozy pull offs on an easy gravel road. Lots of longer term people staying it seemed like (or just really full send camping friends lol). Many fire rings and spots by the lake. Unfortunately the other reviews are right - A decent amount of trash. There are trash cans and porta potties. I’ve seen worse porta potties at festivals but there were a few stinky ones.

West Campground — Norris Dam State Park

    Site #2

We stayed at site #2 which was nice but had soft ground from prior rain (when other sites had already dried up well). There were a lot of headlights on us from traffic entering the campground, even up til MIDNIGHT on Saturday. I would stay here again but would choose a site more towards the backside of the loop for less traffic going by your site

    Wilderness Road State Park Campground

    Very mixed bag

This campground had some good features: hookups and bathhouse were good, location is very pretty, staff clearly take good care of things. Mostly older folks mid week so pretty quiet.

But for some reason there is a path that goes through several campsites. We booked one of these sites without knowing (B12), which meant we had strangers walking through our campsite all the time. Our dogs hated it and so did we! Also sites are close together, most aren’t level, and some are in clear disrepair. They also do a good job cleaning the bathhouses, but they do it from 8-9am which is also when many people are trying to use them.

    Mammoth Ridge RV Park

Half-hearted operation on a shoestring budget

The sites are small, the gravel is thin, and they are muddy. This campground  is a hodgepodge of half executed thoughts and rework, on a shoestring budget. Wifi is horrible, and cell service is worse. The "lake" is a pond. There is a pig roaming around getting into garbage, and rubbing mud all over your stuff. There is pig crap everywhere. Owner seems not to care, but if your dog leaves a pile, they will threaten to charge you to clean it up... Apparent sewer issues, as the alarms were constantly sounding off during our stay. The cops were there multiple times for domestic violence issues. Dogs bark all night. The owner appeared to be intoxicated most all the time.

    Volunteer Park Family Campground

    A quick stay

The tent sites can be decent or real bad. T9 and T14 were horrible sites at the bottom of a hill where all rainwater runs through. T7 and T8 are ok sites. They are fairly flat.

Cove View Campground — Natural Tunnel State Park

    Primitive Heaven.

A “secret spot” that holds a special place in my heart.

I spend on average 10 days at a time camping in the primitive grounds (April/May, Aug/Sep & end of October 2023 ) all five spaces are nicely kept and a large communal fire pit is wonderful. Even when all sites are full. There’s plenty of space. Porter Johns on site as well (and nicely maintained for what that’s worth! )

By far - the best camp ground I’ve visited in terms of Hosts, rangers, amenities if needed, scenery and solitude.

Take bear and coyote warnings SERIOUSLY my friends. I’ve seen plenty out there but never had a problem taking proper precautions. Also the crows - smarter than normal haha they WILL wake you up earlier than the other birds demanding you make breakfast and leave so they can then hop around your camp.

Your cell service will be spotty / non existent on trails around the area… even when you see a road running parallel to your hike .. plan accordingly. (And bear spray people. Please. Just take it)

Plenty of wood split ($4 a bundle. Ice $2 a bag) and hosts will graciously bring wood to your camp site <3

The “trail” off the primitive site doesn’t seem to be on a map - and I heard many different variations of where it went. So I hiked the whole thing just for y’all! It’s an in and out(maybe a mile give or take total) that dead ends to PRIVATE property. (So obviously don’t proceed past gate) Lots of beautiful growth, cool in the summer with shade - nice quiet trail for dogs - half way is definitely less of a beaten path. Use caution.

HIGHLY recommend getting in before last light. Especially if you’re towing anything, roads are steep and winding getting to and from camp/cabins. And lotssss of deer / rabbits at dawn and dusk jumping around.

In a nutshell - this park gets a 10/10 from a solo female camper. Everyone is mindful of one another’s space and solitude - however in true Appalachian fashion everyone also looks out for you and always ready to lend a helping hand.

    Leeman Field Park

    Quiet little campground.

Great experience, the lady who took my booking was super helpful and friendly. Campground is quiet and feels very safe. Nestled nicely in the hills in the Pennington gap . Lots to do within easy driving distance. Overall a great experience

    Kentucky Splash Waterpark & Campground

Perfect Quiet Spot In The Middle Of Town

Super breezy to pull through, we went during the week so we were the only people in the park. We bought firewood and it was well priced but hard to burn. Sites are spacious and hookups worked well. Close to walmart and alcohol stores if thats your thing. The park on site is well kept and fun for the kids.

    Palmers Junction Dispersed Camping

    Better than I expected

So we weren't sure what we would end up finding here. I will say that there are a lot of places to camp, many many many options away from the porta potties. If you get within about 20-30 feet of those they are a bit stinky. The one camp site we chose was a great place, tons of space and well manicured. A lot of options for pull up to your campsite or park and walk to campsite spots.

My only complaints are about the campers that stay there. The litter isn't horrible, but it's not great. It is a leave no trace place. Apparently some people have difficulty with throwing away their trash.

When we stayed last night there was a person that kept peeling out up and down the gravel road (3/4 times) in a diesel truck at 10:00 at night. Not very courteous to all of us at the campground.

And I was awakened at 2:00 a.m. by our camping neighbors when they were playing loud music. Also not cool, thankfully they stopped shortly after

Overall we were very pleased with this campground, beautiful views, it was hard choosing one spot. We will be coming back, and hopefully we won't have loud campers next time.
