    Bear Den RV Resort

    Well maintained , friendly staff

Campground is located a mile outside of town. Friendly staff and nicely maintained campground. There are a few small trees but mostly in the sun. Sites are close together. Big rig friendly and mostly pull through sites.

    McKay's Bend Recreation Site

So good you’ll want to stay longer

DIRECTIONS: 18 miles east of Lewiston, Idaho at mile post 18.6 on U.S. Highway 12

Flat, quiet, clean, and cheap. 15 RV sites and 3 tent sites. Full hookup, clean and large shower rooms and restrooms.

Camp hosts are great caretakers and quick to greet new guests.

Plenty of trees for shade, easy drivable path down to the river, nice local neighborhood to stroll through. BBQ stands at each site and two large community fire pits. Paved site for RV (any size), concrete pad with table. 2 bars cell signal.

Check the pics for accepted passes that drop the prices by 1/2.

At 18 dollars I was skeptical before l arrived. Getting everything for 9 dollars is unbelievable but true.

    Hells Canyon Resort

    Right on the river

Campground right on the river and surrounded by businesses but no noise issues.

Pull through site was paved and level. You do need a water pressure regulator. Office does suggest the route to take for easier pull in. Some of the long term campers have multiple cars and large add-ons, so was tricky getting out.

Showers were nice and plenty of room. Sign on indoor pool stated it was closed.

Check in was easy, they do offer food items for sale but the beverage coolers were pretty sparse.

Premier RV Resort at Granite Lake

    Nice Weekend Stay

Very friendly staff that keeps the facilities clean. Full hookups with lots of pull through spaces if needed. We fully utilized the bike path along the river each day for nice long rides into Idaho and back to Washington. Would stay again.

Premier RV Resort at Granite Lake

Quiet, Clean, well maintained RV Campground

This is an all paved rv campground on the Snake River and bordering Lewiston, ID. It has all the amenities of the Premier RV Resort affiliation. It has all the hook-ups and all sites are well manicured. A lot of the sites have longer term rv's from seasonal workers and such, it is not like a long term trailer park though. The management works to make sure your needs are taken care of. There is a paved walking trail alongside the park that follows the river with pet statiions located at intervals and is maitained by the municipality. There are Snake river boat tours nearby and plenty of shopping close and throughout the community. Fishing is a big activity on the rivers.

    City of Bovill RV Park

Looking for a all season RV Park? This is your spot! Bring the marshmallows too!

This is an all season RV Park. There’s a nice patch of grass in the center during warm months.

Sometimes we have a hard time finding all season parks.

They do allow pets! They have all the amenities you hope a RV Park has. We came up here to gem hunt. But I know other forms of hunting are also popular here 😉.

You also don’t loose the camping feels here. How? Fire rings.

Camping is just not the same without the ability to have a fire. Even when camping in an RV for local attractions over the “camping experience” it’s always a HUGE plus (to me anyways) to be able to watch flames for a few hours while having a few drinks.

Also visit the Pie Safe! You won’t regret it.

    Fields Spring State Park Campground

    Small, quiet state park

We dreaded dealing with crowds over the 4th of July weekend and back in March, this was one of the few state parks where I could get reservations in this area. Keep in mind that "this area" is about 40 minutes from Clarkston, the nearest town so make sure you stock up and don't count on cell service (except for the top of Puffer Butte!) The campground is small - only 20 sites but even on July 3, there were still a handful of empty sites. It was very quiet. Some sites are pull through and some are larger than others (mostly the ones on the outside of the loop) Site 16 was large and could accommodate several vehicles and tents. One restroom that was very clean with my three necessities: soap, hand dryers, and garbage. Coin-operated shower but make sure you have quarters because there is not always a staff person to give you change. Firewood is on the honor system at $5 per bundle. There is an actual spring that the park is named for but it was still turned off (didn't know you could turn a spring on/off?) There are teepees, cabins, and shelters and it appears to be a popular place in the winter for cross country skiing and tubing. The 2+ mile roundtrip hike to the Puffer Butte is a must as the three state view (WA, ID, OR) is sweeping and gorgeous. Other than that, we enjoyed a quiet two nights at this state park

    Winchester Lake State Park Campground

    Great Park, Great Fishing

We pulled our 40ft RV up here and had a great time! Not full hookups but lots of fishing we caught: blue gill, trout, bass, crappie, perch, cat fish and had a small Tiger Muskie on the line but lost it. We were there for two weeks and they did have electricity and water hookups just no dump so we showered and used the bathroom facilities which were very well kept! So we didn’t mind. There is a dump station just in town at the gas station there. Overall great experience and nice to be off the grid for a bit!

Premier RV Resort at Granite Lake

Clean, well-run RV place in a small city

This “RV resort” is within the city of Clarkston and a stone’s throw from a Costco, a WalMart and an Albertson’s. It’s highly manicured and very clean. Staff members are on top of every little thing, friendly and respectful. The waterfront sites overlook Granite Lake, a reservoir on the Snake River. There’s not a whole heck of a lot to do in Clarkston and environs, but it’s a super friendly city and the RV resort is pretty pleasant, featuring a dog park, lots of well-tended lawns, shared propane fire pits and grills and sparkling restrooms.

There's a dog park, lots of well-tended lawns, shared propane fire pits and grills and sparkling restrooms."

Well-maintained facilities: Campers frequently mention clean amenities as a highlight. At Hillview RV Park, Gregory B. shared: "The team was there were amazing. Kind, helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended." This park operates year-round with spacious pull-through sites.

What you should know

Limited tent camping options: Most rv sites near Lapwai prioritize motorhome accommodations with few tent-specific areas. At Pines RV Park, one camper observed: "It's important to note that even though it says it's an RV Park there are tent spots offered here. I think the price is high just because it's in touristy location."

Additional fees may apply: Be prepared for possible surcharges beyond the base site fee. "They will charge an additional 3 dollars per head and 5 dollars for an additional car. If you go in a group like we did, that really adds up," reported a Pines RV Park visitor.

Management policies vary significantly: Each park maintains different rules regarding children, pets, and noise. One Hillview RV Park visitor noted: "The manager does NOT allow kids although this is not advertised or posted anywhere!" Always confirm park policies before booking.

Tips for camping with families

Playground availability: Premier RV Resort offers recreational facilities specifically for children. "The owners have fun with the residents... 'Sweet Saturday' with homemade goodies in the office and then Sunday Sundaes for $1 you can have an ice cream sundae with toppings in the office! The kids LOVED it!" shared Jennifer R.

Privacy considerations: Campground management interaction varies widely. At Pines RV Park, one reviewer mentioned: "The park manager was very social. I don't mind but if you want privacy you may want to stay at a different location. My partner likes the privacy camping brings."

Urban vs. remote options: Consider proximity to amenities when traveling with children. For options in Moscow, note that "Latah County Fairgrounds has a nice playground and it's walking distance from Safeway," according to Megan K., making grocery runs convenient.

Tips from RVers

Water pressure variations: Bring pressure regulators to RV sites near Lapwai as water pressure can fluctuate. At Clearwater River Casino RV Park, Jeffrey Y. observed: "All paved parking spots and easy to access! Only downside is having to walk the dogs across the parking lot to go to the bathroom in the grass."

Site layout considerations: At Seubert RV Park & Guesthouse, Brandily praised the "easy to access pull-through sites," noting they are "super clean and well kept" with "Beautiful view, super friendly staff, and very convenient location." Pull-through sites eliminate the need for difficult backing maneuvers.

Urban convenience trade-offs: RVers seeking services should consider parks near commercial areas. At Premier RV Resort, Dean R. explained: "This is an all paved rv campground on the Snake River and bordering Lewiston, ID. It has all the amenities of the Premier RV Resort affiliation. It has all the hook-ups and all sites are well manicured."
