Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Greensboro, GA

Very nice, well kept little campground. The sites are good sized but not a lot of privacy. Sorta like a nice parking lot with grass and trees. We stayed in January so the weather was on the chill side. I did not notice a lot of trees though for shade when the temperature does rise. When you enter there are two nice little ponds that are said to house some fish. At the top of the right side hill there is a pavilion, laundry area and private shower rooms. Very clean, very well maintained. Not a lot of light but if you have your fire pit going and your flashlight you’ll be good. There are some nice short trails and a small dog park with agility equipment. Milledgeville is close by and your campground hosts have compiled at list of nearby places to visit AND a list for emergencies, to include a Veterinarian which I thought was pretty awesome. Nice place.

Fort Yargo is in the Winder Ga area and is close to Helen, Jefferson, Athens and Atlanta. Entering the campground is a nice paved road and leads to tent camping, cabins, yurts and RV sites.

Very clean park and has Historical area, playground, tennis court, bike and hike trails. Not to mention beach and boating area.

Picnics, camping, boating biking and camping or just day use areas. Pet friendly and all around great park.

There is a small general store, but you are so close to everything if you need it, it's there.

Gread for the Georgia Bulldog crowd as its less then 30 minutes!

I recommend this park highly.

1st time for us to Indian Springs. Very clean and well maintained. Site 19 was on a less populated loop and a long stretch of woods on the "driver" side thus no neighbors.  Site was very easy to back into.

We stayed in March, so when the leaves are off the trees, you can see the lake. Kinda doubtful you would during the summer. Gray water dump is very close. Bathhouse was about a 2 minute walk, but didn't use it.

I'd stay on this section again, but maybe across the street. or preferably down by the water.  There's a short drop off behind the fence by the fire ring, that the dog keeps trying to go down and getting stuck - imagine little ones may love that area.

The town of Flovilla is right outside the gates, with  some shops and a nice restaurant. Dollar General is 5 mins away. Dauset Trails Nature Preserve is about 15 minutes away, but note pets aren't allowed. High Falls State park is about 15 minutes away with good hiking trails. Plus boat, and paddle board rentals.

Large, well maintained sites. We stayed on 17 and it was very private. We hiked from the campground to Lake Buncombe and also hiked from Sunset Drive trail to Lake Liberty and the office. Equestrian trails are closed to hiking during the weekend. Equestrian campground has a new stable and bathhouse and a campground that is under construction now. The old equestrian campground and stable are still there. The cabins on Federal Lake just reopened after getting new flooring. All of the rangers were friendly and helpful. We did the A. H. Stephens museum tour and that was very nicely done. We did a day trip to Greensboro and walked the shops and went to Oconee Brewery. Everyone was raving about Yesterday Cafe so on our next visit Lucy May have to stay back at the camper. We will definitely return in warmer weather for canoeing and a trip to Warrenton which is close by.
