Beautiful setting, lots of amenities, lots of neighbors

This campground is in a beautiful area. The drive up and the scenery is amazing. There are two beautiful lakes you can fish in. There’s a little playground, a little pavilion with cooking area, fish cleaning station, laundry, and a gift shop. The bathrooms, which included showers, were remarkably clean. Aside from the views, I was most impressed with how well kept everything was. They have spots for big trailers, tents, and cabins. The whole are is very OHV friendly.

The negative for us was that the spots were pretty close together. This is not a secluded experience. If you’re looking for solitude this isn’t the place for you. Our spot was right by the lake, which was nice, but also right next to other campers, which was not as nice.

Overall we really enjoyed it and will probably visit again.

Great Views!

Great dispersed camping! Spots were clearly marked and had easy access. The views were fantastic! We would definitely go back. Some of the spots are more exposed and offer less privacy than others. Our spot felt very secluded even though it was right by the road.

One negative was the dust/dirt. The dirt here is very fine and sticks to everything, so be prepared to get dusty/dirty, especially if you have kids.

Nice, but pricey

We spent 1 night at site B32 (bobcat campground). Access in our pop up was easy (a tad bumpy in spots), but I think some of turns and narrow roads might be tricky for bigger trailers. Our site was a nice size and felt private enough despite somewhat close neighbors. Good balance of shady spots and sunny spots. Lots of rock outcroppings and hills to explore (or look at from your chair if that’s more your speed). The bear box was a good size, easy to use, and well located. Restrooms were a short walk away. Our site was easy to get level on but some others looked difficult. Close to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park if that’s your thing (based on the traffic that’s a lot of people’s thing). Overall it was nice and we liked it.

But… it’s pretty expensive for what it is.

Nice Little Campground Near Lake

We stayed at site 147 in the Foxhill loop. It was nice little basic site. Our site didn’t have hookups, but I think others do. Our site was near the vault toilets, which was convenient. They were very basic, but clean.

Short walk to the lake where people were fishing and boating. The kids had fun at the little beach. There aren’t many trees so it feels open and there isn’t much privacy, but our site was far enough away from others that we weren’t bothered. This isn’t the place for a secluded experience.

Easy access, clean, and fairly quiet.
