Great last minute find!

We were traveling through the area with no specific places planned for the night. We came across this campsite and it was perfect for a quick stop. We stayed on a Wednesday night so about half the sites were still open. The bathrooms were clean and you are right next to the river. The only complaint would be that it’s so near the road but we were looking for something easy to get into so it worked well for our one night stay.

Best of the upper campsites

I took a look at Aspen Glen and Sleeping Elephant up the road and this had the perfect balance of next to the river and shade. Also, reliable water, which the others apparently don't have. I stayed at site 6 which is right next to the river and gets afternoon shade. #9 or #7 might be even better. It was full by late afternoon Friday and most people stayed over Saturday but only a couple other people Sunday night.

Nice, quiet little campground

We camped here with our three year old grandson.  This was perfect.  He had his Strider bike and could ride around the campground on the road.  A real confidence booster as there was little traffic.  The river was behind our campsite some distance, so we could explore the water but not be on the bank when we were at our site.

Road noise from the highway was not noticeable.

Would definitely go back for a low key getaway.
