Lake San Antonio - South Shore

At Lake Nacimiento, there are seven unique campgrounds to choose from. Whether you plan on truly “roughing it” or want to bring along your fully outfitted RV, you will find a campground that pleasantly accommodates your vacation. 

EAGLES RIDGE
This is the fifth campground from the entry gate, turn right off the main road and continue to the campground. Many people consider this the very best overflow campground you could ask for. Others make it their first choice. Many of the spaces are walk in and have fantastic views of the lake and resort. There are chemical toilets, trash service and fresh water provided. All the spaces are first come first serve and many require a significant change of elevation to access. If you are looking to get away from it all and don’t mind a drive or hike to the nearest showers, Eagles Ridge might just be the place for you.

OAK KNOLL 
*Reservations Only

This very peaceful campground is the first campground after Entry Gate on the right with 40 Full Hook-up single sites. Most sites have picnic tables, barbecues, and fire rings. The campground has flush toilets and free showers conveniently located a short walk from all the sites. Boat trailer spaces are provided on a first come first served basis. Overflow parking is provided in the Day Use lot located near the General Store.If you are looking for peace and quiet it can usually be found at Oak Knoll.

PINE KNOLL 
*Reservations Only

If you are seeking water access and close proximity to the store, marina and restaurant Pine Knoll is probably where you want to be. Many campers choose this over any other location and tell us it is their favorite getaway in California. With over 90 campsites, two flush restrooms and free showers this is where it is at. When camping in Pine Knoll you can leave your car at your camp and walk to the pool, shoreline and seasonal movie theatre. Water is provided close to most spaces. The flat areas have lots of shade and are the closest to the lake. The upper campsites have sweeping views and can take advantage of the cool evening breezes. Pine Knoll is by reservation only and fills quickly on the busy weekends.

QUAILS ROOST 
*Reservations Only

First campground through Entry Gate on your left as you enter. This campground provides campers with a choice of 60 single regular sites. Most sites have some shade and back up on open space. There are convenient flush restrooms and free showers located in the center of the campground, an easy walk to all the sites. Water is located throughout the campground and most sites have fire rings and barbeques. Picnic tables are provided on most spaces. This campground is not recommended for large RVs and vehicles with trailers due to the narrow roads. Quails Roost is a reservation campground. If you are looking for a place to take the family and friends, try out Quails Roost for an experience you wont forget.

ROCKY CANYON 
This canyon based campground is the second campground on the right after Entry Gate. No Large RVs or large vehicles towing boats allowed to enter this campground due to the narrow roads and parking areas. For use by tent camping groups only. This is a first come, first serve campground with 14 sites ranging from single vehicles up to seven vehicle group sites. Sites have picnic tables and barbeques, some have fire rings. The campground has flush toilets and free showers conveniently located in the campground. Built on the ridge above the lake, Rocky Canyon affords many of the sites magnificent views and access to the evening breezes. Shade is provided in many of these campsites by a mix of pine and oak trees. Bring your friends and family and enjoy one of these mini group sites.

SANDY POINT
*Reservations Only

Fourth campground after Entry Gate, turn right twice. Sandy Point has 12 single and group sites. Reservation and site assignment by Office prior to use required in this very popular campground. Advance reservations are highly recommended but limited space may be available on a first serve basis, check at the entry gate before going to Sandy Point. No hook-ups, water is available close to many of the spaces. Flush toilets and free showers are located centrally in the campground. Narrow roads, use caution, not suggested for vehicles towing boats and trailers. Sandy Point boasts a large day use area available for registered Sandy Point campers and that famous sandy beach at the campground is named for. If you want the very best camping experience that Nacimiento has to offer, most people agree that is found at Sandy Point.

Lake Nacimiento Resort

Monterey County Lake San Antonio South Shore

Peaceful and private RV/Tent camping under the oaks with picnic table, fire pit and Adirondack chairs. We currently have two sites on our property both with water and 30-amp electric hook-ups. The two sites are about 300 feet apart and not easily visible from each other. We have a shared 50amp NEMA 14-50 available for EV charging. Property is fully fenced; both sites are next to an open field under the oaks with vineyard, olive orchard and mountain views. We do not offer restrooms so tent campers please bring your own camp toilet. This property is 30 miles from Paso Robles and almost perfectly centered between Missions San Antonio and San Miguel. Lakes San Antonio and Nacimiento are close by. Coastal towns of Cayucos and Morro Bay are about an hour scenic drive, passing many wineries along the way. There is space for multiple RVs or additional tents sharing your party's RV restroom facilities. Site one will accommodate sixteen people and multiple vehicles. Site two will accommodate eight people and two vehicles. For larger groups we ask that that you book both sites. We have hosted many family reunions and the feedback has been 100% positive. Please feel free to message us with questions.



Road's End, Lockwood

The San Simeon Creek Campground offers 115 campsites for tent camping or recreational vehicles. The maximum length for an RV is 35 feet. Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table. There are currently flush toilets and shower facilities in place. Chemical toilets are available. A dump station and pay phone are available. Firewood is for sale from the campground host.

Recreational activities include camping, picnicking, hiking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, bird watching and whale watching. The Junior Ranger Program is a regularly scheduled interpretive program for children. Interpretive walks of the San Simeon Trail may also be available.

San Simeon Creek Campground

This primitive campground is approximately 1 mile inland from the beach on a plateau overlooking the Santa Lucia mountains as well as the Pacific Ocean. Washburn campground can be accessed from the San Simeon Creek Campground entrance station. Facilities here include a fire ring and picnic table at each campsite. In addition, shower facilities are available to registered campers. This campground has an additional 68 sites.

Washburn Campground

This wilderness was established in 1992 by the Los Padres Condor Range and River Protection Act. On December 19, 2002 the Big Sur Wilderness and Conservation Act of 2002 added 17,055 acres to the existing wilderness for a total of 31,555 acres. Dramatic scenery, steep terrain, coastal redwood groves. The Silver Peak Wilderness is located in the southwestern portion of the Monterey Ranger District and along the famous Big Sur coastline. Hiking is available on moderate to strenuous trails, wildlife is present in more remote areas Photographic opportunities abound. Access to parts of the backcountry is by dirt roads and is open subject to weather conditions.

San Carporforo Creek Backcountry Primitive Campground

Cerro Alto Campground is a well-known hiking and mountain biking paradise. It is located a short distance from the sandy beaches of Morro Bay, where visitors enjoy surfing, fishing, kayaking, sailing, scuba diving and more. While the campground offers a serene, relaxed environment, both Morro Bay and the nearby town of Atascadero offer numerous dining opportunities, shopping, museums and other activities. Natural Features: The campground is situated in a mixed oak, pine and sycamore forest at an elevation of about 1,000 feet. It lies in a verdant canyon pass along a semiannual mountain creek. The roads are paved, but narrow, winding and single lane with turnouts to each site. Recreation: Visitors enjoy ample hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding opportunities, along with a 360-degree view of the Central California coast and inland valleys. The 4-mile Cerro Alto Trail, which leads to the peak, begins within the campground. Morro Bay beaches are less than 10 miles from the campground, offering wide sandy stretches and swimming, surfing, fishing, kayaking, sailing, scuba diving and more. An 18-hole championship golf course is located in the oceanside town. Facilities: The campground offers single-family sites for tent or RV camping. Each site is equipped with a table and campfire ring and grill. Accessible vault toilets and drinking water are provided, but no hookups are available. Trash collection bins are scattered throughout the campground. Nearby Attractions: Paso Robles, which is quickly becoming known as a premier spot for Central Coast wines, is located 20 miles from the campground. Wine tasting tours are offered daily, or visitors can select individualized tours of numerous wineries located in the area. The campground makes a great base camp for motorcyclists or day-trippers to visit the quaint, neighboring towns of San Luis Obispo, Cayucos, Harmony and Cambria, all of which are within 35 miles of the campground. Tours of historic Hearst Castle are also available. Visitors can spend time relaxing at the many available day spas located at nearby Avila or Grover beaches. Off-road vehicle trails are available on famous Pismo Beach.

CURRENTLY - Because of major road repair - this land is ONLY ACCESSIBLE FROM THE SOUTH - THROUGH CAMBRIA - in San luis Obispo County. Highway 1 is completely impassable to the north in between Limekiln and Lucia. The only way to exit is also to return south.

\-ONLY booking within 2 weeks or less - NOT accepting reservations more than 14 days out. Arrive Before Dark to find your site.

Find a place to set up your own tent, pads and bedding near the creek or on the hill. Most sites require walking away from your car. There are some flat spots to sleep in a vehicle.

A homestead at the bottom of a canyon where the creek meets the ocean. It is off-the-grid with no Wi-Fi, cell service or electricity.

A great place for families and children to experience nature. A Young child and baby live here, as well as three dogs, a cat and chickens/ducks. Dogs are welcome off-leash, unless they attack chickens/ducks, cats or other dogs. Please bury/cover dog poop.

This is a remote area with beautiful beaches, creeks and hiking trails throughout. Some areas can be very dangerous with steep cliffs and loose rocks. Be aware that things like spiders, snakes, raccoons, mice, poison oak, etc.. exist in natural areas like this.

Structures on the land are very rustic, A small communal guest kitchen is available with a two-burner stove and sink. Fresh water is available for drinking. There is a shower/bath and composting barrel poopers.

In the Fall of 2020 a huge fire burned the entire canyon followed a few months later by a massive flood that brought down gigantic redwood trees and boulders smashing through everything in it's path including the main living quarters and farm animals. The rains of 23’ also had a significant impact. The land is in the process of restoration and many areas are being worked on.

Alcohol is discouraged. It is not intended as a place to party or get drunk. A casual drink is okay. No stereos or electronic music devices. Acoustic instruments are fine. Fires can be made in designated pits near the creek only. Please do not bring excessive waste into the forest and Pack it Out. There are garbage and recycling cans if necessary.

Because there is no Wi-Fi on the land - the internet may only be checked once daily - unless we are in town. Responses will come from Gene or Elle. It is advisable to check the weather before booking, especially in the winter - as there may be unsafe road conditions.
