O'Neill Regional Park offers equestrian camping experiences near Corona del Mar, California. The campground is situated in Trabuco Canyon, approximately 23 miles northeast of Corona del Mar at an elevation of 600 feet. Located within a 4,500-acre wilderness park, the equestrian camping area provides designated spaces for horse owners with direct access to over 23 miles of riding trails.

Explore nearby waterways: At Lake Perris State Recreational Area Campground, campers can enjoy fishing in the clear lake. "The water was clear, and my kids loved it. There is a cool museum where the amazing staff provided us with interesting history about the lake and Indian tribes," notes Lauren R.
Visit historic sites: Take a short drive from Rancho Jurupa RV Park to explore the historic district. "We drove over to the Mission Inn (8 min drive) enjoyed lunch. Their is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer's market plus lots of restaurants," shares Jody R.

"The campground is located next to Oneil Park, which is huge and great for bike and running. There are many hiking trails nearby in all directions. "Very well maintained campgrounds with quality facilities located throughout. $20 a night, they have water spigots shared between campsites. Self pump out (free) and good rubbish collection points throughout," James notes about the park.
Natural surroundings: Despite proximity to urban areas, the parks maintain a wilderness feel. "Once in the park you feel like you're far out in the wilderness. It makes for a great weekend great away. The park is well maintained and has 78 sites to choose from," writes Berton M.
What you should know
Reservation requirements: Plan ahead for equestrian camping spaces, especially on weekends. "Weekends fill up fast since it's a small drive from the hustle and bustle of Orange county life," reports Brandice S.
Noise considerations: Some campgrounds experience traffic noise. "Campsites are located on a relatively busy road, so you can hear road traffic but nothing that bothered us," explains James.
Fishing permits: Some parks require additional permits for fishing. At Lake Skinner Recreation Area, "The fishing costs an extra fee per day on top of your California State License, so it's a bit pricy," warns Andy H.
Water restrictions: During droughts, water access may be limited. "I had electric hookup but no water because of the drought," notes SmallRVLifestyle V. about Caspers Wilderness Park.

"Very well maintained campground with kids, great flat biking for kids, large dirt area used for parking during the Balloon and Wine festival that kids can play on and ride bikes in. Educational trails: Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park offers family-friendly activities. "Great campground for families. Lots of activities for the kids to do, like smores by the fire, art, splash pad, and play ground," notes Jeff E.
Story trails: Some parks feature special trails for children. "Great and fun 'Story Trail' hike for children. The hike features a new book every month, each page is mounted to a placard along the trail," explains Johnny G.

Leveling considerations: Be prepared for uneven sites at some campgrounds. "The sites were all uneven. Every camper we saw had to do major leveling efforts," reports Brian C.
Hookup availability: Check for specific hookup types before booking. "We had site 126 in the fields, corner site and lake view. This campground has a pool, splash pad, park, dog park and access to the lake," says Marcella D. about Launch Pointe.
Internet access: Seabreeze At Seal Beach offers a secure environment but requires military ID. "The security is tight, as it should be, which made me feel safe and secure during my stay. The campground itself is very nice, well-kept, and has large spaces for RVs," explains Brian C.
