Most RV parks in the region operate year-round, though amenities vary significantly between locations. For example, the water hookups are half way between the sites to be shared, and my 50ft hose just barely could reach." Grocery stores and fuel stations are accessible in nearby towns, with Walmart locations in Pine Bluff and Forrest City providing supplies for extended stays.

    H&G RV campground

    We really liked it!

An overnight stop on our route. Gary was great, most helpful and it was a pleasure talking with him. This is a rather small campsite and I recommend advanced reservations. Two pull through sites that do not have sewer hookups but there is a dump station if needed. Electrical hookups are 50 amp so have an adapter if you need 30 amp service. I’d certainly recommend it.

    Pendleton Bend

    Nice people, basic facilities

I stopped here for one night with a travel trailer and was in site B-01 for $16. The sites are spacious. For example, the water hookups are half way between the sites to be shared, and my 50ft hose just barely could reach. It is pet friendly and we had fun sitting on a dock and watching the cargo boats. There is absolutely no cell phone signal and no WiFi, so have physical directions on you. The park is only a couple miles from Arkansas Post National Memorial which was very beautiful and worth a visit.

    Delta Ridge RV Park

Great Location When Passing through Eastern Arkansas

    We stayed in Site# 2  💦🔌💩

Amazing campground for a pass through campground(the lack of laundry/bathhouse held us back from 5)

WiFi-✔️▫️Streaming- from phone Cell Service AT&T Verizon- both had good service

    Accessibility- Easy to get to

Sites- Pull Thru and Back In available, gravel sites, fairly level, small, no table, no grill, no fire ring

    Amenities- None

👍🏻This RV Park was conveniently located off I40, easy to get into, very clean, super friendly owners, we felt safe, very laid back atmosphere with minimal paperwork(no signing your life a way😉), and a perfect stop to spend the night on your journey.

👎🏻There are no amenities, no bathhouse, no laundry, sites are a little tight, no picnic table, fire ring, or grill. While this RV Park is lacking all the“extras” it is perfect for stopping through to spend the night or even as a place to stay while in town for work. There were several restaurants, gas stations and some grocery stores, including a Walmart, nearby. Going into this park with the appropriate expectations(just a quick stop to sleep) is key.

    Cane Creek State Park Campground

Our first camping trip was a great success. We camped 2.5 days at Cane Creek State Park in Star City, Arkansas.

Our Review: The camp sites were very nice, all had either 30 amp or 50 amp electric hook ups and water. The electricity was super convenient with having the space heater in the tent. Most of the sites have nice views of the water too! It was a little too cold to fish but from what we’ve gathered from the visitor’s center they have some decent fishing and lots of other activities! Cane Creek offers several options like fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, etc. There was a boat dock specific for campers closer to the campsites. We were very pleased with the bath house which was really clean and fairly central to all campsites. We will definitely be back when it warms up to test out the fishing!

Guide to St. Charles

RV camping near St. Charles, Arkansas sits in the heart of the Arkansas Delta region, characterized by flat terrain and proximity to key waterways including the White River and Arkansas River. Most campgrounds in this area maintain elevations near 200 feet above sea level with seasonal fluctuations in water levels affecting river access points. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 90°F with high humidity, while winter nights can drop below freezing.

What to do

Wildlife watching at riverside sites: Rising Star offers prime locations for observing river wildlife, particularly along the Arkansas River. "Plenty of wildlife to be seen! We will be back! Boat ramp $5, pavilion $60. Nice day use area and playground but watch for snakes," notes one visitor to Rising Star.

River access for boating: Multiple campgrounds provide boat ramps for river access. "Wonderful small campground on the river. Spacious spots. Spots in the woods and on the river. Playground and boat ramp," reports a camper at Rising Star.

Birding opportunities: The area hosts diverse bird species, particularly along river corridors. At Delta Ridge RV Park, one visitor observed unique bird activity: "There were lots of frantic birds at dusk everyday I was there."

What campers like

Spacious waterfront sites: Many campgrounds feature sites with river views. At H&G RV Campground, campers appreciate the quiet setting: "It's quiet, safe, and Gary is so nice. It's in the country and close to 40 but you don't get the traffic noise."

Helpful camp hosts: Personal attention from staff enhances the camping experience. "Gary met me as I arrived in the park, guided me to my spot and even helped connect the water while I hooked up electric and waste," reports a visitor to H&G RV Campground.

Clean facilities: Well-maintained bathrooms receive praise at several locations. A camper at Rising Star emphasized: "I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CLEANER BATHROOM!!! BATHROOM/SHOWER COMBO FOR 1 PERSON OR FAMILY!!!"

What you should know

Year-round availability varies: Some campgrounds close seasonally. A visitor to Ste Marie Park noted: "Went by 1/17/2021 gate locked closed for winter opens up March 1st."

Cell service considerations: Signal strength varies by carrier and location. At Delta Ridge RV Park, visitors reported: "Great WiFi for free. Walmart within walking distance."

Insect management: Fire ants can be problematic in some locations. One tent camper warned: "Arrived and began to survey the site which is pretty basic only to realize it has a severe ant infestation!!"

Playground access: Some campgrounds offer designated play areas. "Nice day use area and playground but watch for snakes," cautions a visitor to Rising Star.

Wildlife viewing opportunities: The river environment provides educational experiences. A camper at Saracen Trace RV Park shared: "It is a lovely, well-kept park. Lots of wildlife-squirrels everywhere."

Safety considerations: Monitor children near water and watch for wildlife. "Occasionally a barge would go by. The Arkansas River is part of the McClellan-Kerr navigation system," notes one camper describing river traffic.

Bathroom facilities: Not all parks offer full facilities. "There is no bathroom or bathhouse, however. It's located at the back of Regional Park," explains a camper at Saracen Trace RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Level sites: Many RV parks feature well-designed pads. At Pat Kelley RV Park, a visitor found: "Full hookups on drive through concrete pads. Nice and level. $20.00 cash."

Hookup accessibility: Site layouts affect hookup ease. One RVer at Delta Ridge noted: "No frills, nice pull through sight for our 43' 5th wheel. No cable, picnic table or bath house. However very easy hookups, free WiFi, low price and nice grass for our dog."

Shopping proximity: Several parks offer convenient access to supplies. "There is a fully stocked grocery store next to the park as well. Great deal for $42-47 bucks," mentions a visitor at Delta Ridge RV Park.

Overnight vs. extended stays: Some parks cater specifically to travelers passing through. "The campground caters to those looking for a single overnight stay so there are no amenities," explains an RVer who stayed at Delta Ridge.
