Buffalo Point campground permits pets in both tent sites and cabins with convenient river access. The campground provides water hookups, fire pits, picnic tables, and trash service while maintaining well-marked trails suitable for dog walking. Sites accommodate RVs with electric hookups available, though some campers note the close spacing between sites limits privacy. White Buffalo Resort and Blue Heron Campground also welcome pets in their cabin accommodations, offering additional options for travelers with dogs who prefer more substantial shelter.

Buffalo National River's pet-friendly trails connect directly to many campsites, making morning dog walks convenient. Most campgrounds require pets to remain leashed in public areas, with specific designated swimming spots suitable for dogs along the river's sandy beaches. The camping areas feature gravel paths leading to the water where dogs can swim during warmer months. During peak summer season, the river access points can become crowded, making early morning or weekday visits preferable for dog owners. The bathrooms and shower facilities are clean and maintained regularly, though pets are not permitted inside these buildings. Some campgrounds provide designated pet waste disposal stations to maintain cleanliness throughout the camping areas.

      RARE FIND - Beautiful Park

RARE FIND Such a BEAUTIFUL place! I love all the oak trees and the sounds of nature are so relaxing. They offer a spacious dog park, which the dogs are currently playing at while I relax and take in nature. If you are looking for a small piece of nature where you can get way from it all but still be close to town, this place is it. Everyone here is friendly and the shared spaces are always very clean.

They offer great rates and a Military Discount too!!

      Enjoy your stay!

Denton Ferry RV Park & Cabin Rental

      Hot in summer

This is probably an excellent site in spring or fall. However summertime is hot at the site because of the lack of shade trees. Site 15 is by the water and has a large area for dogs or family. There is a staircase down to the water next to site 8. The fishing is good. It’s a pet friendly site however if your dogs bark neighbors will complain. The manager is friendly. They do not have trash pick up service; you just take your trash to a dumpster at the end of the camp, which is not a big deal. No grill available but has picnic tables and fire ring. WI-FI aid very good.

      Blue Heron Campground

      Some nice amenities, some lacking.

My wife and I camped here for four nights. Overall it was nice, but there were some things that I wish we knew. The location is great in the sense that it’s easy to get to and it’s laid out well. Unfortunately, it’s directly under an overpass and it is loud- loud enough that I used ear plugs at night.

It’s located on the White river and has a very nice gravel boat ramp, which is a big positive. It also has fishing access during low water.

The WiFi is excellent and the staff are super helpful and friendly.

The biggest plus for us is the bathrooms were among the best that we have found. They’re clean and fairly new.

There is plenty of property to walk and they were very pet friendly. It looks like many of the guests are long term residents.

      Haw Creek Falls Camping

      Free camp, moderately popular

For actual camping there was maybe 2 other campers in the area but during the day LOTS of people coming to swim ( and leaving trash 🤮 ) The water was beautiful, eating dinner by the falls has become one of my new favorite camping memories in arkansas. Lots of snakes and saw a feral cat but so pretty, and the bathroomS were absolutely disgusting and full of trash

      Sylamore Creek Camp

      Great site!

We love this campground. We love having direct access to creek. It is kayak, family, pet friendly. The only thing it is lacking is internet connection, which for us is a plus for disconnecting. All sites are reasonably level. Site F is the premium and most secluded full hook up site. They have all levels of sites: primitive, water and electric, or full. Their small store has firewood and many other convenient items for sale. We take our own kayaks, but they do have rentals. They have public showers and restrooms, but the restrooms are currently closed due to renovations. It’s really one of our favorite local sites to camp.

    Guide to Cozahome

Camping near Cozahome, Arkansas offers access to the Buffalo National River watershed with elevations ranging from 800 to 2,200 feet. The region experiences mild springs and falls with summer temperatures often exceeding 90°F. During summer months, river levels can fluctuate dramatically based on rainfall patterns, affecting both swimming areas and boat launches at local campsites.

    What to do

Fishing excursions: Norfork Dam - Quarry campground provides excellent trout fishing access with clear water. "Beautiful waterfront camping! The water is clear and freezing cold, and the breeze off the water feels amazing! The sounds from the dam releasing water is so peaceful!" notes Donna M.

Cave exploration: Blanchard Springs Recreation Area offers remarkable cave tours beyond the standard camping experience. "Beautiful caverns with lots of hiking and water activities and a no-frills campground among rolling hills. Lots to do outside the park too," shares Lynn G., who adds "the standard cave tour is great, plus there is a more extreme tour where you can crawl and squeeze through trails in the caves!"

River floating: Buffalo Point connects campers to several floating outfitters. "There are floating outfitters in the area that will drive you up river to float back down toward the campground," explains Cody S. The most popular routes operate from March through October depending on water levels.

    What campers like

Spacious campsites: Blanchard Springs campground features well-designed sites with room to spread out. "I love the nice big, spread out campsites!" says Jess K., while Leah H. notes, "The camp sites were very roomy! Clean bathrooms. Hikers' paradise!"

Clear water access: White Buffalo Resort sits at the convergence of two major waterways. "This is an incredible place to camp. Your camp is where the White River and Buffalo rivers merge. If you enjoy fishing this has some of the best trout and bass fishing in the area," explains Bill M.

Disconnecting from technology: Buffalo Point offers a true escape from connectivity. "We enjoyed a nice walk along the water, views of the sunset from a small cliff, and a peaceful night without cell service! Highly recommended for those who are looking to get away from reality!" shares Kaylee W.

    What you should know

Weather impacts: Flash flooding can quickly change river conditions. At Tyler Bend Campground, water levels can rise dramatically. A ranger at the park noted a 13-foot rise in water level overnight after heavy rainfall, making river access dangerous.

Seasonal crowds: Summer weekends draw large numbers of visitors. "This campground had the potential to be amazing... But the camp hosts and rangers don't enforce any sort of quiet time or people capacity rules," warns Amanda W. about Buffalo Point during peak season.

Limited amenities: Tyler Bend Campground offers basic facilities only. "Pretty basic campground, kind of just a bunch of spots in a field. About half are first come first serve... Not great for big rigs, a lot of the sites are too small," explains Lucy P., adding "our only issues were lack of hookups, bad weather, and some people who decided to crowd us and run a loud generator."
