Good spot to camp, bad Verizon service

We stayed one nite at site 5 in our 24ft Mercedez Sprinter. It’s not super level but decent space to maneuver to find your favorite orientation. Our problem was that we operate with Verizon and TMobile. Unfortunately neither carrier had a good enough signal here for us to spend the week we planned. Perhaps other sites might have better luck, but for working remote we had to change plans. The road in wasn’t too bad for us, but I could see it being challenging with a sedan or a camper.

Nice and wild

Nice forested area in Prescott Forest. Few level sites for my rig and lots of nails on the ground from pallet wood.

Interesting

For free camping there aren’t very high expectations but this would be really difficult to get back too if you are in a big rig or don’t have a lot of clearance. The road isn’t well maintained. There was garbage and stuff left everywhere. There was a fire ring and Prescott was really close.

16 sites is really less than 10 sites. Around ~25% Availability

Trittle Mountain Road advertises 16 campsites BUT most of them are clustered in groups of 2 or 3 and we found that a lot of the people occupying them would intentionally take up all of the spots for 1 RV/group. Even IF they hadn't spread themselves all over the 2 or 3 designated spots they share entrances and you'd be really close to your neighbors. A lot of the spaces were uneven or had rough washes/entrances. About half the spaces are in more pine tree settings and the other half are more of a "high desert". We were able to turn our pop up camper around about 1/4 mile past campsite 16.
