If you find a spot grab it

With the exception of the view of your neighbors the ocean is beautiful. There are so many things to find at the city campground. Toilets are open seasonally. 34 campsites, day use area, and a gazebo to rent. They are always looking toward improvements. This is a great place to camp and spend the day beach combing or enjoying all the shops and wonders of this little town on the water.

Can’t be a hillside view

If you have kids. This is the place to be. You can walk or drive here and hang out under the picnic pavilion while the kids get their energy out.

If your traveling with littles this is the place.

5 campgrounds

There are 5 campgrounds in the State recreation site. They include Coho, Silverking, Slidehole, Steelhead, and Halibut.

If you are looking for camping closer to the beach try spots at Halibut campground. There are plenty of amenities in Anchor Point including store and Post office. Plus pizza which is good after driving all day and not wanting to cook for the family.

The farther you walk down the beach the farther for people you get.

Love State Parks

What can I say about the views. If you are wondering those are three volcanoes you can see, Augistine, Iliamna, and Redoubt. There is no fishing here and if you can find your way down to the beach there is a whole other world. Except traffic for local residents there are usually few people and worth it to find a way down.

I love this part of Alaska.

camping and dipnetting

Great for RV camping. Tent camping can be done, it’s all paved area so bring padding to sleep on. Very family environment, kids playing games and enjoying the outdoors. Very packed during dipnetting season.

Amazingly beautiful

Was amazed with the beauty and trails in this area. The campsite for tents have to be hiked in to get to. The RV sites can accommodate tent camping, with smaller tents. So many options to do, you easily forget you don’t have cell service. There are trails, lakes, site seeing and enjoying the peace. We saw black bears,  mamma and cubs. Very curious cubs got very close, momma didn’t seem to mind or get aggressive. Still be prepared for an encounter for your safety. There were lots of smaller critters we saw/heard and signs of moose. We have plans to visit other lakes, trails and camp sites along this route.

Bring a kayak

This hidden gem is first come first serve and worth it if you can grab a spot. The lake is perfect for a quiet kayak just waiting at the waters edge to see wildlife. There are normal amenities here with pit toilets. But the view is wow.

Awesome place to park the rig for a few days lovely people in the area definitely worth a trip

Whiskey point cabin

Awesome time to relax and just get away from the hustle and bustle
