Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve offers multiple pet-friendly camping options near Uriah, ranging from full hookup RV sites to tent camping areas. Pets are allowed throughout the campground with standard leash requirements. Campsites feature spacious layouts with gravel pads that accommodate both small and large rigs. The property includes several fishing lakes, creek access, and open areas suitable for pet exercise. Isaac Creek Campground also welcomes pets with well-maintained sites along the Alabama River. Both campgrounds provide water hookups, electric service, and clean restroom facilities for campers with animals. Sites at Magnolia Branch can be quite large with ample space between them, providing room for pets to relax while remaining leashed. Some reviewers note the campground could benefit from better noise control when multiple families with pets visit simultaneously.

Hiking opportunities with dogs exist throughout the campgrounds, with Magnolia Branch offering creek-side paths where pets can cool off during warmer months. The campground's creek is popular for both swimming and tubing, though personal floats aren't permitted and must be rented on-site for $5 per person. Both campgrounds require proper waste disposal and leash control. During summer months, early morning or evening walks are recommended to avoid heat stress on pets. Lake Stone Campground, just across the Florida border in Century, provides another pet-friendly option with waterfront sites where dogs can access the lake under supervision. The closest veterinary services are located in Atmore, approximately 20 minutes from most campgrounds in the area. Visitors should prepare for limited cell service at several campgrounds, particularly at Isaac Creek, which could impact emergency communication for pet-related issues.

      Deer Creek RV Park

Highly Recommend and will stay here again

We stayed at Deer Creek RV Park after returning from Florida headed back out west and this place is awesome. It is very conveniently located off I-65 and the park is very well kept, bathhouses are immaculate and very large. Has a dog park which our dog loved being off leash and owners are very nice, informative and can also recommend great restaurants around. They also have two other RV sites close to Gulf Shores and OWA in Foley. Highly recommend!

      Isaac Creek

      LOVE THIS PLACE!

Sure it’s out in the middle of no where but that’s exactly what we were looking for. We stayed at site 35 on the river & it fit our 70 ft long big rig. The camp host are extremely nice and hospitable! The laundry is currently free! The bugs weren’t to bad. Hot tip- walk over past the dam to the “softball field” and it makes the perfect dog park. We were able to get perfect internet with our Starlink

      Bear Lake Campground

      Wonderful camping

Small campground with limited sites. Sites are close together but waterfront sites have extended area behind the site. Weekends and holidays are busy. Be careful when backing into the site since the exterior sites have significant slope to the parking pad. Electric and water service is 10 feet beyond the pad. Clean bathrooms are a quick walk away. No Verizon cellular service. Family and pet friendly.

      Krul Lake

A nice, shady campground for families looking to swim or hike.

A cool spring fed swimming hole centers 2 camping loops. Be forewarned-locals do not provide a serene experience for those that lack patience with others. While pets are not allowed, don't expect a lower noise level. I've been a dozen times and half of them I'd rather hear dogs barking than loud country music, redneck battle cries, and country parents scolding screaming kids. Not that there's much parenting, just shouting. It's a great place, but it's no vacation for seniors or someone looking for a quiet spot. There's a great hiking trail. The bath houses are clean but very dated like most state facilities.

      Bear Lake Campground

      Awesome Quiet

Bear Lake was quiet, very well kept, bathrooms were very clean they offered a whole room to yourself (sink, toilet, shower all-in one room) . They informed you of gators in lake, they had fishing available for campers and a 2mile hike or 1mile car ride to krul lake for swimming. They offered pull through sites for big rigs which i loved it made things easier. Hosts were very kind. It had a pavilion for events. It was 22.00$ a night w/electric/water. We stayed for nights cost 130.00, they add about 20$ more for all sorts of taxes. We will go back, very nice place. Pets are allowed. My dogs loved it!

The Retreat RV & Campground On Styx River

      Welcoming

The retreat offers several amenities including showers, laundromat, and gas grills. There are even bouncy houses and playgrounds for the kids.

It's located on the river and they have a pet beach separate so even your dogs can enjoy the water.

The camp manager is nice and very helpful. They are definitely a great asset.

Full service hookups are currently limited as they work on an expansion, but they do have plenty of water/power hookups both off and on the river. There's also a cabin, glamping tents, and a tiny house. There are plenty of shaded spots.

There are a few long term residents who are friendly and welcoming.

I definitely recommend this campground for a fun, relaxing stay.

      Hilltop RV Park

      Park going down hill fast

December of 2016 my husband and I decided to stay at HillTop RV Park in Robertsdale, AL, for the cold winter months. Our first and second winters in the park were wonderful. Activities were planned, weekly dinners out as a group, potluck dinners, and weekly games in the clubhouse. The clubhouse when it was unlocked, you could watch TV, play Wii games, and visit others. It was also the place to pick up your mail. If the managers were not around, the clubhouse was locked.

The following year, December of 2017, the park was pretty much the same as in 2016. Volunteers would begin doing the mowing and planning all the activities. Upon leaving in the spring of 2018, we could see changes happening in the park.

In December of 2018, changes started to happen. The managers became distant, rude and very uncomfortable to be around. The maintenance that was happening began to stop. My husband and I would fill the potholes in the road and take care of the ant hills throughout the park. Other people would help as well. The clubhouse was locked 80% of the time therefore having access to your mail was very difficult. Since the clubhouse was being used as the managers’ own personal space, living room and dining room, there was no time for the clubhouse activities as in the past. Furthermore, there was a sign at the clubhouse stating no pets allowed, but apparently that did not pertain to the numerous cats the managers fed. The only time the clubhouse was thoroughly cleaned was when the owner was going to arrive. The cleaning was done by volunteers.

We arrived December of 2019 and could feel a different vibe as soon as we walked in the office. The park managers were even more distant and rude. We decided to get our mail from a post office box since our experience in 2018 was less than good. Since, once again the clubhouse was locked for almost 90% of the time, there was no activities scheduled, no time to watch TV or play games or enjoy visiting with others. Definitely no good time to get mail if it was being delivered to the park. It seemed like the managers were very involved with one family who arrived in March of 2019 and not really anyone else. There were even more cats in the park marking their territory on everything and making it uncomfortable for the rest of the animals in the park. Absolutely No activities were planned the entire winter season(even though it says they are on the website).

We left the end of February of 2020. Our take away from stay this past season is this:

      1. Do not expect any activities or anything else the website says they have.

      2. Do expect to be locked out of the clubhouse. Know that the rules only apply to those who the managers don’t like.

      3. Do expect tension if conversing with the managers.

      4. Do not expect typical maintenance to be completed by the managers.

      Blakeley State Park Campground

      Rich in History and Nature

Blakeley State Park could be described as being "frozen in time". There's a lot of cool Civil War history to witness, as well as a beautiful walking path/deck along the bay. We were not expecting the $5/person charge to enter the park, so be sure to come prepared for that. No sign of trash on the ground anywhere throughout the park, so I at least know the money is actually being used for good. Map/trails are a little confusing. We had a hard time navigating the park, but the accidental detour allowed for us to watch a turtle lay eggs in the ground. We also managed to run into someone's pet rabbit-- which you can see in the picture provided. The only other thing you need to know is that there are yellow flies and they do bite hard (and can cause an allergic reaction in some people.) Definitely bring bug spray and sunscreen!

      Mystic Springs Recreation Area

      Remote Primitive and Wild

Pros: Covered tent sites (we tent camped) portapottys, free for up to a week, boat launch, spaced out sites (pretty private). Has picnic tables, fire pits, and grills. Cons: Sites flood, lots of gaters (if you have small pets this is sketchy), gets a little busy on the weekends with the boaters, it's reaallllly far from the next town but there's a gas station 15mins away. Get gas before you go back to camp. It's beautiful and clean. About 45mins to pcola

    Guide to Uriah

Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve accommodates both tents and RVs with pets welcome at all sites. The campground maintains spacious spots with full hookups, electric/water options, and primitive camping areas across its property. Pets must remain leashed throughout the grounds, including along the creek access points and fishing areas. Restrooms and showers are available for campers, though bathroom cleanliness can vary according to visitor experiences. The reserve closes entry gates early in winter months, typically by 4:00 PM in February, so campers should plan arrivals accordingly. Large sites with ample space between them provide room for pets to relax with their owners without crowding neighboring campsites.

Campers with dogs access multiple water features including Big Escambia Creek for swimming and several small lakes for fishing within the reserve's boundaries. No special Alabama fishing license is required when fishing on property. The campground offers tube rentals for $5 per person to float the creek, though personal flotation devices aren't permitted. Isaac Creek Campground, located about 40 minutes north, provides another pet-friendly option with riverfront sites where each campsite includes its own pier. Both locations have limited cell service, with spotty coverage at Isaac Creek and variable data speeds at Magnolia Branch. Lake Stone Campground in Century, Florida offers an additional nearby pet-friendly option with clean facilities approximately 30 minutes south. Campers should pack all pet supplies as the nearest shopping is at least 30 minutes away from these rural campgrounds.
