Silver Lake Park provides rustic cabins near the water with picnic tables and fire pits, making them suitable for family getaways. Mt. Baker Lodging manages numerous cabin properties throughout the area, ranging from simple accommodations to deluxe options with hot tubs and full kitchens. Most cabins include basic amenities like toilets and showers, while the more upscale options feature additional comforts such as fireplaces, BBQ grills, and WiFi. "The cleanest restrooms and showers that I have ever experienced camping. We have been here three times now. Beautiful woods and hiking available as well," notes one regular visitor to Silver Lake Park.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. Mt. Baker Lodging cabins sleep anywhere from 2 to 26 people, with many accommodating 4-8 guests comfortably. Most cabins are pet-friendly, allowing families to bring their dogs along. Colonial Creek South Campground — Ross Lake National Recreation Area

    07.09.16

Get there early on a summer weekend. We arrived to the campsite Saturday around 11AM ($10/night). Each site had its own table and fire pit - ours was tucked into a nice private spot. Some of the sites had bear lockers and there were bathrooms nearby with running water and large trash bins throughout.

Hidden Village RV Park & Campground

Great price, very nice manager lady.

I rented a long term space here for over 2 years while working in Washington. Price was by far the best around. It's a very good sized place with spaces to accommodate even the largest trailers. Even when full there's room to maneuver.Full hookups, wifi, bathrooms, shower, laundry room, swimming pool. Has seperate parking for boats, utility trailers etc. Lots of big trees around for a fair amount of shade. Is pet friendly. Manager lady is very nice. Has a separate non power section for tents or dry camping. It's not the fanciest but for the price is great.

    Deception Pass State Park Campground

    Cozy campsites !

There were SO MANY available campsites when we got there. About mid afternoon. The ranger was super friendly and welcoming! The bathrooms were nice and had showers that require tokens that you can buy with your site at check in. The sites vary in size and shape but most of them are decently private/ spaced apart. The site next to us never got booked, probably because it was small, but it was nice for us because it was only a few bushes away. Sites include a picnic table and fire ring with grill grate . There was a trail to the beach not far from us and it was super nice. Although there are plenty of signs that require dogs to be on leashes most people did not adhere to those rules, so keep an eye out if you're bringing the doggos. Very family friendly, very cozy, very nice stay!

    Howard Miller Steelhead County Park

    Stayed two nights

What a lovely campground! There’s a day use area with a bathroom and picnic tables right before entering into the campground. This place allows you to pay to park in the lots for $15/night if you are occupying it which is nice when the campground is full. There’s trash bins located throughout the campground as well as restrooms and shower houses (quarters needed). Dump station is $5. Several free options to pick from based on your setup. If you are paying to overnight park in the parking lot, you technically are not supposed to be using any of the amenities within the campground itself including the shower. If you speak with the Office and allow to pay them directly. They are very accommodating to allow you the bathroom code for the showers. They ask you only stay one night in the parking lot but you can ask for an extra night but get approval.

There’s a bar and grill across the road with pizza and dog friendly. There’s trails around the campground to walk. Very pretty views of the water at half the sites. Camp hosts were very kind and came around at night to check to make sure everyone paid to stay so make sure you do if you are in the parking lot! Had fantastic ATT service and was able to work well. Varied from 3-4 bars of 5G. Only 30 minutes from NC NP entrance. Definitely would stay here again!

Mt. Baker Lodging - Cabin #95 - Hot Tub, BBQ, Fireplace, WiFi, Pets Ok, Sleeps-4!

Perfect Basecamp for a ski weekend

I booked this cabin through Mt. Baker lodgings which has about 100 properties in this area to choose from. It was the perfect spot to access and ski Mt. Baker for 3 days while on vacation.

The check-in process and finding the cabin was super easy just make sure you know where to check-in prior to leaving a cell service area as service is basically non-existent when you get there.

The cabin had everything we needed from kitchen utensils to linens, to a washer and dryer not to mention some added perks like the grill, hot tub, and fireplace. This cabin has 2 full-size queen beds, a foldout futon in the living room, and 2 bathrooms. It was super spacious!

The cabin was near Glacier, WA which is the closest town to Mt. Baker and has a small assortment of stores although I would recommend you buy the bulk of your groceries beforehand as a selection in the area is limited.

All in all, this was the perfect spot for a few days of skiing at Mt. Baker. It was so easy to access the ski area and the cabin was the ideal getaway in the mossy forests of Northern Washington. It was tucked away in a thickly forested neighborhood full of similar houses which were great for walking. The nearby river also was a great spot for a short hike.  I will definitely be staying here again!

Hiking forest trails: Several short trails wind through Silver Lake Park's wooded areas. "Beautiful woods and hiking available as well," notes a camper at Silver Lake Park, who describes it as a "really beautiful setting very clean and my idea of camping! Nice really big lake with plenty of fish! Nice little park for the kiddos, trail's nice camp sites!"

What campers like

Farm experiences: Some properties offer unique agricultural experiences. At Oostema Farmstead, "Lisa gave us a tour and let our children pet/feed the cows, goat, and pig. The kids loved it!! We like that there isn't rows of RVs and Trailers stacked on top of each other, you have space to wonder and spread out."

Tips from RVers

Site selection: Choose locations based on specific needs and privacy preferences. An RV camper at Oostema Farmstead shared, "Most of the campsites are nice and grassy with trees, but fairly close together. Ours was gravel and apart from the others, but did not have a sewer hookup."

Technology access: Cell coverage and internet vary by location. "AT&T coverage good, ranging from 3-4 Bars of 5G with speeds up to 18 MB/s. Their WiFi was respectable with speeds up to 1 MB/s, but we did have to reconnect a couple of times when the service stopped working."

Utility connections: Check specific hookup availability before booking. At Oostema Farmstead, "The sites are on grass, and each has a fire ring and picnic table... Water and electricity for 30amp and 50amp. Close to grocery, gas and restaurants, if you want."
