Cache/Box Elder

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available at Cache/Box Elder, a National Forest campground in places to camp near Mantua that runs from mid-May through mid-October. RVs up to 35 feet can access the sites on a drive-in road, and the campground sits close enough to Brigham City that resupply runs are straightforward. Camp hosts are on-site during the season and firewood is available for purchase.

Sites are heavily shaded by trees, and a small creek runs through the property. Reviewers note the spots can feel tight in some loops, so larger rigs should factor that in when choosing a site. The main bathhouse has sustained damage and is currently closed, but porta-potties have been kept clean. NikNak L. sums up the general layout as "lots of trees, clean bathrooms, little creek running through."

Road noise is worth knowing about before you book. Truck traffic on the nearby highway is audible through the night, particularly at sites closer to the old campground 12 area. Bugs can also be active after dark. The campground has drinking water, picnic tables, fire rings, a dump station, and ADA-accessible facilities, and pets are permitted throughout.

Nearby alternatives include Mantua Waterfront RV Resort and Box Elder Campground for campers who want to compare options in the same corridor. Reservations are a smart move for summer weekends.

1 Night Wonder!

We were here for one night as a stopover for a longer trip out to Idaho. We stayed in #13 which is right by the temp? bathrooms (porta potties) in what used to be campground #12. Looks like the bathhouse had a fire or something and has been closed. The road noise especially from large trucks was audible ALL night, plus we were by the bathrooms that people would slam at all hours. Very shady and nice, a little buggy at night, but a nice picnic table and fire ring if you want it.

Cute!

What a cute spot! Lots of trees, clean bathrooms, little creek running through. The spots can be a little tight, I stayed in loop A, so I’m not sure what the other loops look like. Looked like the main bathroom had a roof cave in, but the portapotties were spectacularly clean. Camp hosts were very nice. Firewood available to purchase.

Nice place

Scott and Stevie are the best. Always helpful. Lots of shady sites. Easy access. 5 minutes to the lake and 10 minutes to Walmart in Brigham for whatever you need. First visit I came with a tent this time with the RV. Both were great visits. I’ll be back.

Okay Campground

Our visit was pretty good. If you're looking for a decent campground in a decent place then this is the one for you. It's not bad but it's not great.
