Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Great Weekend Getaway

Awesome first camp of the year. Booked as soon as the state parks opened back up. Place really gave that “middle of nowhere feel”, lake and surrounding area were beautiful. Campsites were simple and bathrooms were nice. Only issue we had was we accidentally booked a site without electric. Could’ve been more clear on website, but also likely a rookie mistake being our first camp in Utah

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Much nicer than beach camping

The campground is spacious, has showers, running water bathrooms, fire pits, cement pads and pavilions. Great place to camp- much better than being on the beach- due to the wind! Yuba beach is always windy and the oasis campground gives some reprieve

    Castle Gate RV Park

    Tranquil!

Beautiful RV Park!! Friendly service! Escorted to our Site# 201 which backed up to the Price River. Site was super level for us. Great space between neighbors on our side of the park. There is a picnic table. However, we took our chairs down to the river bank each evening. So tranquil and relaxing! Laundry room is nice and all machines were in working order. We did not use the restrooms but took a peek in and they are all clean and look new. Beautiful mountain scenery as well. AT&T, T-Mobile Cell Service were excellent. No issues with their WiFI. So many cable channels! If there was one Con, it was that the dog park/run area was muddy. Looks like they are watering the area to maybe get more grass to grow. However, there are plenty of other grassy spots with Dog Waste Stations and bags to walk your dog. Street traffic noise can be heard. We do have a white noise machine and it did not interrupt our sleep. Enjoyed our relaxing stay here! Highly recommend!

    Orange Olsen

    Great cabins for the cost.

I really want to give a poor review so no one else will take my future reservations.  However, they really are in a great location and easily accessible.  The Dwelling is large enough to hold a really big family or two couples with small children.  The cabin is pretty small but large enough for a family of four.  Both have showers, toilet, with running water.  The lake is about a mile down the road. The nearest open boat dock is on the other side of the lake (~3 miles).  The ATV trails are endless and right out the driveway is access to Skyline Drive AKA God's Country.  Fishing is good at Joe's spring and fall. Summer time is better for swimming and wake boarding.  The smaller lakes and ponds are better suited for summertime fishing.  Luckily the are short drives.  Not much of a rock climber but I know the only reason my in-laws come is to go drag themselves up a rock while I wet a fly.  Overall a pretty laid back place to spend a few days relaxing.

    Castle Gate RV Park

    Very nice park

I travel in either a van or a fifth wheel and would be happy to bring with one to this lovely park! It has lovely amenities, nice spaces and quite the view. I think it’s new. The private restrooms are better than home! A nice big shower, toilet and sink, a chair, hooks and nicely lit. They have convenient lights over the door on the outside of the of the building. Red is occupied, green is available. The laundry facility is new, clean and comfy; it’s right off the office and mini store. Speaking of the office, the staff are kind and helpful. The grounds are spotless and a river runs next to the park. The only drawback could be the railroad tracks nearby, but I love trains and they went by slowly and infrequently.

    Castle Gate RV Park

    Nice site

This site is nice. It's not over the top in any way. It's right by the main road to get here and also by a train track. There is a river flowing by it with a small and short trail but that's about it. The wifi is great and the water pressure is great. The cable is also pretty good. The site we were in is narrow. Literally the size of our travel trailer but you get a decent area for hanging out under the awning and picnic table. There's enough to space to fit our truck between our RV and picnic table (for reference).

There is a splash area for the kids to beat the heat and a place to play horseshoe.

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Nice facilities, well-maintained

Spent a night here. Nice facilities, with covered picnic tables at each RV spot, water, and most with electric. Nearby dump station. Some grass and green areas for dogs. Adequate shower facilities. Pretty scenery, and several miles away from the interstate so very quiet. There was an algae bloom that made lake hazardous, so we kept dogs away from the water.

    Springville / Provo KOA Holiday

    Nicely run, just too cramped

This KOA is very nicely run. It's clean and we'll kept. The backdrop of mountains and colors are gorgeous. It's just very cramped. Your door opens right to the neighbors hookups. There are strips of grass between but they hold half of a picnic table.

This is a good spot to hook up and top off for a night or two, or if you're planning on staying inside, or if you're going to head up into the mountains for hiking and leave the rig behind.

Can't comment on the cabins but they seem nice and the amenities areas are very nice as well. I just prefer a little space when I'm camping.

Guide to Spring City

Cabin options around Spring City, Utah are located at elevations between 5,000-8,000 feet in the Manti-La Sal National Forest region. The area experiences cold winters with significant snowfall and warm, dry summers with temperatures typically ranging from 70-85°F during peak camping season. Most camping cabins near Spring City remain open from late April through October, with limited winter availability.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: At Palisade State Park Campground, visitors can fish directly from the shoreline or use rental boats. "Great rec area including a playground. Bathrooms well maintained and pedal boat and other boat rentals. Plenty of fish to catch off the shore or in a boat," notes Matt L.

ATV trail access: Pleasant Creek Ranch Camperworld offers direct access to regional trails. "We were able to ride our side by side from this location right onto the Arapeen trail. The main office will give you a simple map on how to get there and they also sell the trail maps for $10.50," shares Alisa P.

Mountain biking: The trails near camping cabins around Spring City provide routes for various skill levels. "We found a new favorite place to avoid some of the Moab crowd," states Aaron about Castle Gate RV Park, who visited specifically for mountain biking in the area.

Lake activities: Beyond fishing, water recreation includes paddleboarding and swimming. "We've been coming here for several years now, and it hasn't disappointed! We really love the lake and all the little trails we could mountain bike on!" explains Brittley A. about her family's experiences at Palisade State Park.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Heritage Grove Campground receives praise for its maintenance standards. "Had very clean restrooms and showers. Lots of amenities like a playground and volleyball net. Campgrounds face the main area where cars drive so they're not very private, but that wasn't a problem for us," mentions Rayna D.

River access: Some cabin camping options feature water access that enhances the experience. "Site was super level for us. Great space between neighbors on our side of the park. There is a picnic table. However, we took our chairs down to the river bank each evening. So tranquil and relaxing!" shares Jody J. about Castle Gate RV Park.

Location convenience: Many cabin accommodations serve as excellent base camps. "We stayed here a weekend to get in some mountain biking in nearby Price. Everything in the park is immaculate, and very well maintained," notes Aaron about the strategic location of their lodging for outdoor activities.

Privacy options: While cabin density varies between locations, some provide more seclusion than others. "The sites are close together so you don't get a whole lot of privacy. The staff were steady busy leveling off the gravel in each site and mowing the lawns," Steven M. explains about Pleasant Creek Ranch Camperworld.

What you should know

Reservation timing: Peak season fills quickly, especially at the more popular cabin locations. "We come here often. The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 star is because the campsites are too close together and our best kept secret is no longer a secret and it is crowded all the time," Karin W. notes about Palisade State Park Campground.

Site differences: Cabin sizes and amenities vary significantly between locations and price points. "I stayed at the lake cabin, had an amazing time, the place was so great, view from the porch was truly spectacular!" says Corby E. about Mammoth Cabin in Ephraim.

Noise considerations: Some cabin locations experience more ambient noise than others. "If you're looking for solitude, drive up a canyon road and skip Palisade State Park. It's loud and busy most days of the week in the summer," advises Madison G.

Seasonal variations: Weather impacts cabin camping experiences throughout the year. "Family comes here every year around Mother's Day. This year we went May 17th and it was still cold. The water was very high," Makenzie R. shares about spring conditions at Palisade.

Tips for camping with families

Recreational options: Multiple cabin sites offer family-friendly activities on-site. "Clean restrooms and showers. Great swimming pool. Beautiful camp sites. Easy to find. Quick drive to small town eats and even a drive inn movie theater," Curtis H. mentions about Pleasant Creek Ranch Camperworld.

Group accommodations: Several locations can accommodate larger family gatherings. "Great for groups. I really enjoyed this place," says Becky J. about Orange Olsen, which offers both cabin and group site options.

Kid-friendly amenities: Look for cabins with nearby playgrounds and splash areas. "There is a really cool rail yard across the street where you can watch slow moving locomotives move railcars. There is a little splash zone for the kiddos and plenty of grassy areas," explains Steven M. about family features at Castle Gate RV Park.

Cabin sizing: Choose cabin size based on your family needs. "The Dwelling is large enough to hold a really big family or two couples with small children. The cabin is pretty small but large enough for a family of four," advises Steven G. about Orange Olsen's options.

Tips from RVers

RV site considerations: For those bringing both RVs and using cabins, site details matter. "This place is new and they are still adding sites. Between high cliffs on the Price River. I was worried about the train noise...TOTALLY UNFOUNDED worries. I heard the train around 10 pm and then again in the morning," reports Michael C. about Castle Gate RV Park.

Utility quality: Water and electrical services vary between cabin camping locations. "Their water pressure is outstanding in fact they recommend a pressure regulator on the supply line. The park WiFi was beyond excellent," notes Michael C. about infrastructure quality.

Weather preparation: Cabin campers should prepare for temperature variations. "It was 25 degrees overnight so we were grateful to have the electric hook up! Road was well maintained getting there and not too far off the interstate that it made for a good stop over!" shares Hailey about her experience at Oasis Campground at Yuba State Park.

Extended stay amenities: For longer cabin stays, note available services. "Laundry room is nice and all machines were in working order. We did not use the restrooms but took a peek in and they are all clean and look new. Beautiful mountain scenery as well. AT&T, T-Mobile Cell Service were excellent," Jody J. reports.
