Mammoth Cabin, located near Ephraim, received praise for its views, with one camper stating it had "view from the porch was truly spectacular." On-site markets are available at several locations including Springville/Provo KOA and Mountain Valley RV Resort, offering basic provisions and firewood. Immaculately maintained campground

We stayed for only one night, but I would come back here in a heartbeat! Big, clean bathrooms with running water, mirrors, flushing toilets, & hot showers. Gorgeous view of the lake - you can walk right down to the water from your site. Super friendly staff. Tent pads are all level and maintained after each camper. Has all the other essentials- clean picnic table, big clean fire pit, and a charcoal grill.

Pine Creek Campground — Wasatch Mountain State Park

      Stayed in yurt

The yurt was a great experience during the winter. The entire campground was closed, except for the yurt and the couple cabins on site. It was super quiet. It had 2 electric fireplaces which kept the yurt nice and toasty. It has a bunk bed with queen size mattresses which were comfy. There was a refrigerator and microwave. There is access to potable water right outside the yurt. You do have to walk about 500 yards to the yurt from the parking space, but the privacy is worth it. Rate was $75 per night during the week and $100 per night during the weekend. I will definitely be returning.

      Mountain Valley RV Resort

      Mountain Valley RV Resort, Utah

One of our all time favorite RV parks. Located in beautiful Heber City, Utah. We felt at home as soon as we arrived and were greeted by a nice man on a golf cart who lead us to where we’d be staying. There is an adult only section if you’re looking for peace and quiet away from kids. The concrete was level and spacious, each with its own picnic table.

They have two dog parks, one of which is the nicest and largest one we’ve seen thus far. The laundry room was sparkling clean and located adjacent to the pickle ball courts and outdoor fire pits. They have an on-site RV wash available and allowed us to borrow an adaptor from them at no charge. We enjoyed an evening in their hot tub/spa. They also have a large pool area near the bathrooms that were the most well maintained bathrooms we’ve ever used on the road. To top it all off, they have a gorgeous fitness center with weights, a treadmill and elliptical available to all guests.

Overall we were extremely impressed with all amenities and the customer service provided at Mountain Valley RV Resort and would recommend it highly to anyone visiting the area.

      Tanners Flat

Good location for exploring Wasatch Mountains and Salt Lake City

You really need to know this: No dogs are allowed because this campground is in the Salt Lake City watershed.

And this: As inviting as the water running through the campground may look, you are not allowed to swim, wade or wash in it.

One more thing: Gate closes at 10 pm although that didn't stop some partiers at the next site in from us. They partied and left around 11 or so. There was no payment tag on the post. The exit is open but has tire shredders if you enter over them.

A pleasant surprise at a Forest Service campground: 10 lbs of ice for $2! (There was also the usual bundle of firewood for $6.)

An unpleasant surprise: Old, dirty bathrooms. I've seen cleaner vault toilets elsewhere than these flush toilets.

There is no water for now (July 2018) in bathroom sinks or at spigots. The host said something about a pipe issue and water needing to be tested. That covers the amenities other than dumpsters.

What about the sites? We arrived on a Sunday morning when the host was putting up signs indictating which sites were reserved. We had 3 possible sites among 1 through 19 and grabbed #9, a pull through site with a buffer between the road in the parking/small RV area.

Sites in the other area (higher numbers) were becoming available, but that area's host said many of the sites were only appropriate for tents.

Our site #9: There are a few steps down to the picnic table, fire ring and grill plus a separate area to the left for a tent. See photos.

      General site info:

      • Some sites have a concrete pad for the picnic table, etc.

      • Many sites have an area for the tent that is away from the picnic table and concealed from the road.

      Mountain Valley RV Resort

      Clean and Cozy

We only stayed at Mountain View for one night while passing through, but we enjoyed our stay. The office staff was super friendly. Mark came out on a cart to usher us to our site. He was helpful and provided wonderful advice for the rest of our trip in Utah (Moab). The sites are a bit close, but the campground was quiet and clean.

Our girls enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The laundry facilities were nice and even had a designated machine for pet laundry. The restrooms and showers were private and clean. The water pressure was high and temp was hot. There was a beautiful fire pit near the pool along with pickle ball and basketball courts.

This facility is near the highway but the road noise wasn’t a problem for us.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

      Great camping spot!

The state park was great! The campsite was great! Very clean and well kept! Also dog friendly,, so that was good, they had a doggy poop bag station by the the people bathroom! We stayed in D Loop close to the water! Our spot had a cement pad with a picnic table, a fire ring, a grill! The tent pad was nice! The bathrooms were close and very well kept! They were cleaned every day! The showers were nice and there were several of them! The only negative thing was it was close to the highway so we could hear the cars driving at night!

      Springville / Provo KOA Holiday

      Perfect getaway spot

This place has it all. Clean bathrooms, hot showers, washers n dryers, basketball court, playground, fenced in dog park, a clubhouse building that has arcade games, pool tables, full kitchen, skee ball, dart boards, recliners so comfy you won't wanna get up, all set up around a huge tv screen similar to being at a movie theater, BOWLING, yes bowling, an outdoor swimming pool, awesome friendly happy helpful staff and matience, green sites with power water sewer, pull thru and back in sites, picnic tables, BBQ grills, very family friendly there! And they seem to do cute things throughout the week inviting everyone to join, like free hotdogs and hangout at main pavilion, movie nights, game nights, like they actually care about you as people and not just a payment! Its a nice park for sure!

      Great Weekend Getaway

Awesome first camp of the year. Booked as soon as the state parks opened back up. Place really gave that “middle of nowhere feel”, lake and surrounding area were beautiful. Campsites were simple and bathrooms were nice. Only issue we had was we accidentally booked a site without electric. Could’ve been more clear on website, but also likely a rookie mistake being our first camp in Utah

    What campers like

    What you should know

Seasonal restrictions: Some cabin facilities have limited operating seasons. The Upper Fisher Campground at Jordanelle operates from "May 1 to September 15," while others remain open year-round.

Varying amenities: Cabin options range from primitive to fully equipped. At Springville / Provo KOA Holiday, accommodations provide standardized amenities. A visitor described it as "A nice KOA. The setup is generally the same at a lot of KOA. This well kept KOA has lots of amenities, but sites have zero privacy."

Clean bathrooms, has warm showers, power at your picnic tables and water at each site."

    Tips from RVers

Leveling issues: Some cabin and RV sites require leveling equipment. At Pleasant Creek Ranch, one RVer mentioned, "The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because some of the sites aren't level and are pretty close to each other. I had to use 3 yellow square leveling blocks on the left side."

Water pressure awareness: Some locations have unusually high water pressure. A camper at Jordanelle noted, "Be careful hooking up your RV to water. Very high pressure."

Site selection strategy: For cabin rental guests with RVs, site selection matters. At River's Edge at Heber Valley, a visitor explained, "Not all spots have trees but there are a lot of trees. The spots are small gravel and rather level. We are happy with the size of our spot. Each spot has a fire pit and picnic table."
