Awesome quiet campground

Honestly this is easily one of my favorite campgrounds, the lake is awesome for fishing. The campground is well taken care of and the water taps are strategically spaced out between campsites. We went and had the majority of the campground to ourselves, it was awesome to have the campsites be so close to trails.

Love the campsite!

This hidden campsite is great, remote camp sites, covered in trees, extremely quite. There is no cell phone service and the closest town is 35 minutes. Bring your own wood, they do not sell wood. Running fresh spring water, but no dish washing station. Be prepared. Also no showers. Even though this is a little bit of a damper, the views make up for all of it. They have a trail that takes you to a look out in the top of the mountain. Absolutely breathtaking view. Hike is moderate, with a pretty steep incline up. Also have a pond with fishing and non motorized boats allowed. I highly recommend you pick site 15 for it’s really private and the most elevated campsite. This campground is truly a hidden gem. Will definitely return! 🌞

Hurry! The secret is getting out!

One of the most scenic campgrounds in the Western United States. And excellent trout fishing, too! The eight acre Posey Lake is perfect for quiet kayak fishing among the pines and aspens. The campground has state-of-the-art toilets that are kept immaculate and oder-free. Potable water spickets are strategically placed throughout the campsites. Docile deer are common in the early mornings and the Milky Way makes its appearance after sunset. In the summer, look for the Big Dipper to descend over the north end of the lake. Campsites No’s. 11, 12, 13, and 14 have trail access to the lake (No. 12 is best). If you want seclusion, reserve campsite No. 16, although it is furthest from the lake. All sites come with a fire pit, barbecue grill “on a stick,” picnic table, and bear-proof food locker. The trail to the fire look-out is adjacent to Campground No. 14. It’s an moderately easy hike with some inclines and switchbacks.

Best Trout Fishing

Excellent uncrowded trout lake. Eight acres among the pines. Good sized rainbows and brooks. Occasional arctic greylings. Modern designed toilets. Potable water provided. Non motorized boats allowed on lake. Perfect for kayak fishing amongst the mountain paradise. Good base camp to explore Boulder Mountain, Escalante Grand Staircase, and Lake Powell at Hole in the Rock. But PLEASE don’t tell anyone! Let’s keep this gem a secret!
