Off Highway 389 about five miles south of Pipe Springs National Monument, Toroweap Road BLM provides free dispersed camping on Bureau of Land Management property. The washboard dirt road requires careful navigation past multiple cattle guards, with camping permitted only between the third and fourth cattle guard on designated BLM land.
Finding suitable sites proves challenging due to rocky ground that limits options for larger RVs, though car camping and small campers can manage. Cell service remains spotty throughout the area. Off-road vehicle traffic and passing cars create noise during daylight hours, though the area becomes quieter farther from the main road. The campground serves as a base for visiting nearby Pipe Springs National Monument and offers camping near Fredonia for those exploring the Arizona Strip region.
