    Shreveport Bossier City KOA

    Not to sure

Did an extended stay here, 3 months while working in the area. The staff is great and very helpful and friendly. The dog park is nice if you have them. Park is well maintained. There are only 2 reasons I couldn’t give them more than 3 stars, 1) on monthly rate they charge for electric which I get but it continued to go up even though outside temps continued to drop so no need for my A/C units. 2) During the last 4 nights of my stay there were multiple times I heard multiple gun fire in the area.

Lots of in and out traffic. I would recommend if your passing through the area and need to stop for a night or two but not long term.

    Johnson Creek Camp

Beautiful place on Lake 'O the Pines, but crowded campsites

I stayed here for five nights in mid-March. The campground is a mix of tent/RV loops and has multiple boat ramps into Johnson Creek which feeds into Lake 'O the Pines. I was in site E210 (RV area 2). Place was packed over the weekend, cleared out quite a bit during the week. I check out all four RV loops, and it's one of the most crowded COE campgrounds I've seen (and I've seen a lot). Site spacing in pretty close, but slightly better than commercial parks. I lucked out on E210, it was a pull-through that perched overlooking the lake. It was among the more private sites. Fairly level sites in loops, some asphalt, some concrete. Water/Elec, picnic pad and table and fire rings at all sites. I would definitely recommend and go back but pick your sites carefully if you want privacy - think Google satellite view or Google Earth. Pretty decent cell signal for Verizon, so-so for ATT.

House of Prayer - Church and Campground

    Nice Family Atmosphere

This is a quiet place. There's about 10 full hook up, level, pull through sites. Pretty surroundings. Kyle and Sarah keep it clean and family friendly. There's a laundry room. No Bathhouse. They're building a pond, which will be lovely once it's done in 2022. There are small houses nearby. Nice folks living in them. Kyle is really nice, not pushy with religion. Close to Center, Tx. I suggest Darrel's or Chaps for Bbq!

    We RV Champions

    Cool name, cool stay!

The name drew us in, the convenience, friendly staff, large spaces and the usual amenities will bring us back.

A very convenient location for a base if you are looking to go to Canton Trade Days, Edom's many art festivals, Moore's Store in Ben Wheeler to see a show, shopping in Tyler or any of your East Texas adventures.

Although near the highway and the Tyler Pounds Field Regional Airport, this rv park is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. An older park, well maintained with mature trees lining the property. A good portion of long term stay residents with smiles and waves and neat spaces.

    Buffalo Bayou RV Park

    Not what we expected

Made a reservation via telephone for two days a month in advance, but was not given a site number. When we pulled up to the office there was a note with a telephone number to call, but no answer. I saw a gentleman walking around and it appeared he saw us. After waiting about 10 minutes, I decide to driver further into the park. The gentleman I saw earlier was one of the owners/ managers, I would would have expected him to go to the office to meet the newly arriving guests. I will say that he was friendly enough and later, his wife stopped by to collect the fee and she too was friendly. The park itself has full hook ups and is on the banks of the bayou. The campground require you to sign a waiver because of the water moccasins from the bayou and because of the potential of falling tree limbs. The. Campground is pretty sandy so leveling may be problematic for big rigs. The do allow long term guests to store all kinds of equipment and gear, the site next to us look like a junk yard. Our fellow campers seemed friendly enough with the gentleman on the other side from the junk yard introducing himself.

    TravelCenters of America RV Park

    EASY OFF INTERSTATE ACCESS

We came here for a quick over night stay. Right off interstate by gas stations and food. We were in a pull through spot, which was level, but barely long enough for our truck and 30 ft camper. Full hookups (bring extra long electric cord!), picnic table, showers, cable, dog park, and extra parking area noted. No fires allowed. With Good Sam our spot was 34.00 which was quite reasonable.

    Buckhorn Creek

    Popular Campground

We arrived about 3:30 PM and check in was quick and easy. We proceeded to back-in site E139 with water& 50/30 AMP. The signage to our area had a R in front of the site numbers but all the site numbers on the posts have an E in front of them, so be aware of this discrepancy if coming in late. Back-in was easy on to the narrow pad that was long enough for our 39’ 5th wheel and F-450 truck parked in front, but not by much. There was a very nice deck with the fire pit/bbq nicely placed right off the deck. Site 140 next to us with the other deck is actually a pull through double site. Longest sites in this area of the CG are 109- 113. Other sites had short pads so be sure to check the length when you reserve. All of the pads in the CG looked fairly level. We got 2 bars on Verizon and a handful of OTA channels. With the amount of trees in the CG satellite could be iffy. Water pressure was okay at around 35 psi. The CG also had a separate and very nice tent area near the playground. They were remodeling the main restroom/shower so it was closed during our stay, but there was another facility in each RV area(100 and 200) that had toilets and a shower but were older and in need of updating. We stayed over the weekend and the CG was very busy. We enjoyed the great water view from the deck on our site during our 4 night’s stay.

    Buckhorn Creek

    Love this place

Spur of moment trip to just get away. Fwel lucky to find. Nice, clean, friendly, concrete backin spaces, big, shady, quite, wildlife roaming, friendly staff, no sewage but dump station, showers dated but hot water and clean. Swimming, gated, need pass, boating, playground. Close to historic , I'm in love with that part of the town , Jefferson Texas. Gonna make a post regarding a Jefferson 5x boondocking parking lot with or without hookups, free over night, or $12 hookup to electric. Don't know why everyone complains so much. Yes its a parking lot across street from police station. Laid back town, step back in time. Obviously they only see parking lot but this area is awesome. Just spent whole day hunting bigfoot, eating ice cream from old timey parlor, many, things to do and see in walking distance.
Back to this camp ground. It's surounded by beautiful Lake of the pines. Would and will definately be baci real soon.

Guide to Easton

RV campgrounds near Easton, Texas primarily serve travelers on Interstate 20, offering convenient stopover locations for those journeying across East Texas. The surrounding Piney Woods region has average summer temperatures exceeding 90°F, with winter lows rarely dropping below freezing. Cell service can vary substantially between campgrounds, with Verizon typically providing the most reliable coverage throughout rural sections of the area.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Stillwater RV Resort maintains a stocked pond where fish are actively biting. "Small lake with lots of floating things for kids to climb on" notes one camper, making it suitable for both serious anglers and families.

Antiquing excursions: Gladewater, located 15 miles from some RV parks, serves as the antique capital of Texas. A reviewer at Antique Capital RV Park confirms that "Gladewater has many, many, many antique shops" and calls it a "great spot if you love antiquing!"

Golfing access: Several campgrounds border local golf courses, providing convenient access for players. One reviewer mentioned that Shallow Creek RV Park is "on a golf course for you golfers," making it possible to camp and play without additional travel.

What campers like

Concrete pad quality: Many sites feature level concrete pads that eliminate setup frustration. A camper at Carthage RV campground noted that "sites are perfectly level and concrete," though they also advised that "sites toward the front seem pretty close together, but sites further from the road are spread out more."

Clean facilities: Consistently maintained bathhouses receive positive mentions. "Bathrooms and laundry clean," reports one reviewer, while another states, "Restroom/shower/laundry facilities were perfect."

Swimming amenities: Shallow Creek RV Park offers multiple swimming options including "2 pools, hot tub, splash park," which proves particularly valuable during hot Texas summers. One camper called it "exceptionally clean and friendly" with "good lighting."

What you should know

Hookup configurations: Some parks have unusual utility placement requiring extra equipment. One camper at Carthage RV Campground warned: "If in class A with a tow, will have to unhook if you don't have 25-30 foot long hoses."

Leveling requirements: While concrete pads are common, many still require adjustment. A reviewer at Marshall Meadows RV & Tiny Home Village described it as offering "country style living with an onsite pond," creating a peaceful rural atmosphere.

Pool usage policies: Some resorts restrict outside food and drinks in pool areas. At Stillwater RV Resort, a visitor observed: "They don't allow outside food or drinks, which I get that they don't want people bringing in alcohol, but it would have been nice to have our own bottles of water with it being over 90 degrees."

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Schedule around organized events at larger resorts. "They had a bunch of activities for the holiday weekend which were fun! Duck races on two days, firework show (very good and free), bingo, chalk contest, find the flags, etc!" noted one family at Stillwater.

Playground access: Laguna Vista RV Park offers a "small dog park" and has amenities suitable for families. One reviewer mentioned "The small pond was great to walk around and chat by," providing a natural gathering space.

Shade considerations: Many parks have limited tree cover, making summer visits challenging without preparation. A visitor noted: "There isn't a lot of seating or shade. I did see people bring camp chairs and just setting up where they could."

Tips from RVers

Extension planning: Pack extra sewer hose for unpredictably positioned hookups. "Make sure you bring a lot of sewer hose! We had our 20ft and had to go to Walmart to get an extension," advised one RVer.

Site selection: Request spots away from early-departing work campers when possible. A reviewer at Laguna Vista noted: "Some noise early in the morning when workers left, but other than that ... hidden gem for a quick one night stay!"

Budget management: Consider membership discounts to offset costs. "Passport America site... I paid a total of $19.24 for the night" reported one camper, highlighting the substantial savings available through discount programs.
