    Serendipity Resort

    different, in a good way

I enjoyed my 3 nights. I had a great view of a pond and a row of A-frames but the sites on my passenger (viewing) side were not occupied or I would have been billboarded. The  sites are very close together but the season is apparently over. Very little traffic even on thanksgiving. The roads are narrow and the trees get close. Th signage could be better but the host left me a text when I arrived and found me while I was waiting outside the office. Very quiet, no road noise or trains or planes. Just a little longer drive off the main highway

Small but clean. Very friendly staff. There are plenty of trees for shade. Nice pool, bathrooms and rec room. The laundry room is large and air conditioned. There is a dog park, horseshoes and cornhole. They offer daily breakfast and lunch and will deliver site made pizza to your camper. They also have a community garden.Very close to Memphis. The only downside is it has quite a bit of road traffic noise and a strange side road entrance.1

The laundry and camper kitchen were great amenities. The pool was clean and a great way to cool off. They have a Cafe that serves breakfast and dinner. Dinner is delivered to your site. We will definitely be staying here again.

    Memphis KOA

Great place to stay as you transit the Memphis area

We spent the night while driving north past Memphis. The staff was super helpful. Our site (and the whole campground) was covered in snow and in was cold. Other that that, we had a great experience.

4 stars because it is next to an interstate highway so there is inevitable noise and not much interesting in the way of scenery. Other than that, this is a 5 star place.

We will definitely stay here again.

Good Camp ground 20 minutes from Memphis

First time at a KOA, and it was a good experience. Our stay was for 3 nights. Easy check-in and staff were very helpful. They also have a cafe that serves breakfast from Thursday - to Sunday ( due to staffing shortage). Enjoyed Beale Street and of course, toured Elvis's house and complex.

Sites were close together, our pad was part concrete and part gravel, but we were able to level our 5th wheel just fine.

Close to Memphis, across the river. It's a great campground. The scenery is not spectacular but that's not their fault. Surprisingly quiet for being right on hwy 40. Place is well taken care of an breakfast was awesome!

Warning to Blue Oval Families& Traveling Workers– AVOID Serendipity RV Park

We were long-term tenants at Serendipity RV Park for over two years, paying$950/month. My husband works for Blue Oval, and we want to warn others: this park does not respect or value loyal tenants. On July 8, 2025, a Serendipity employee ran a mower into our RV, damaging our slide-out. Instead of taking responsibility, they brought in Ralph’s Mobile RV Repair—a contractor who showed up without notice and“repaired” it using silicone instead of 2 sided adhesive, it look horrible, he smearing silicone everywhere, and bent up parts of the trim that had not even were not even originally damaged. We documented everything, expressed our concerns immediately. Ralph returned later, didn’t even remove the old silicone, and caked more on top. When we pushed back, he became aggressive and confrontational—at one point suggesting he could“meet” my husband somewhere. Serendipity never inspected the work. Edward, who’s on-site daily, never once came to speak to us. Instead, we got a dismissive text saying they were“satisfied” with the work and that we should“file it on our insurance.” The damage was caused by their own employee—yet they refuse to make it right. On top of that:• They’ve overcharged our card multiple occasions and add illegal card processing fees.• in addition to the$950/monthly space rent, they have installed meters to charge electric ON TOP of the$950(they want MORE money but do not even maintain our lawns properly)• The park is poorly maintained. Grass gets a foot tall before it’s mowed, and employees recklessly use riding mowers near RVs. We were respectful, always paid on time, and expected to be treated fairly. Instead, we’ve dealt with poor repairs, price gouging, and total disregard. If you’re a Blue Oval worker or traveling family, do yourself a favor—avoid Serendipity and Ralph’s RV Repair. You deserve better.

Guide to Henning

Glamping near Henning, Tennessee offers travelers a mix of traditional and luxury camping experiences within driving distance of this rural town located in western Tennessee. The region sits at approximately 400 feet elevation with relatively flat terrain characterized by agricultural land and small stands of mature hardwood trees. Summer temperatures frequently exceed 90°F with high humidity, making access to water features particularly valuable for visitors during peak season.

What to do

Water activities on-site: At Serendipity Resort, guests can access paddleboards, kayaks, and john boats without additional rental fees beyond initial admission. "There is paddle boarding, kayaking, and a small John boat included with the park. There is also a very nice spacious pool that is included as well," noted Nathan B. The resort's established recreation options provide convenient on-property adventure options.

Climbing opportunities: Serendipity Resort features an observation tower that provides sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. "There's plenty of room to walk around and a fire tower to climb. You can see some great views up there," according to visitor feedback. This activity offers a physical challenge while providing perspective on the local landscape.

Community gardening: Memphis KOA in Marion maintains a community garden where guests can participate in seasonal planting and harvesting activities. "They also have a community garden," mentions Melisa J. This interactive feature allows visitors to connect with the agricultural heritage of the region while providing educational opportunities for all ages.

What campers like

Spacious pool facilities: The large swimming pool at Serendipity Resort stands out for its notable depth. "The pool is 11ft deep so there's no issues with using the diving board," writes Nathan B. This unusual depth makes the facility particularly appealing to stronger swimmers and diving enthusiasts who find many campground pools too shallow for these activities.

Site delivery service: Memphis KOA offers convenient meal delivery directly to camping sites. "Very impressed they have breakfast and dinner + they deliver right to ur site!" reports Kari K. Another visitor confirms, "They offer daily breakfast and lunch and will deliver site made pizza to your camper." This service eliminates meal preparation time for guests focused on relaxation or sightseeing.

Quiet rural setting: For travelers seeking peace away from urban environments, Shearins RV Park provides a tranquil agricultural setting. "Located in flat farm land a few miles from Blytheville. There is no pool or playground," notes reviewer N.I. The rural location offers relief from city noise and light pollution for stargazing opportunities and undisturbed rest.

What you should know

Seasonal operation differences: Some facilities experience significant changes in occupancy patterns throughout the year. A November visitor to Serendipity Resort noted, "The sites are very close together but the season is apparently over. Very little traffic even on thanksgiving." This timing consideration affects the overall camping experience and privacy between sites.

Site layouts and spacing: Proximity between camping spots varies considerably between properties. At Serendipity Resort, "The sites are quite close together," according to Nathan B. Site selection may impact privacy and noise levels from neighboring campers.

Road noise considerations: Highway proximity affects sound levels at some locations. The Memphis KOA experiences "quite a bit of road traffic noise" according to Melisa J., while another visitor notes it's "surprisingly quiet for being right on hwy 40." Noise-sensitive campers should request sites furthest from highways when possible.

Service variability: Management changes can significantly impact visitor experiences. Recent visitor Sherry P. observed at Serendipity Resort: "The girls in the office have smart mouths and zero customer service skills. The grounds look awful, grown up grass everywhere. It appears they only mow about 25%." This indicates inconsistency in maintenance and customer service standards.

Tips for camping with families

Pet-friendly accommodations: Memphis KOA provides specific amenities for travelers with animals. "The staff greeted us and our pups with smiles, cozies, and treats for the dogs," reports Zack L. The property also features a designated dog park that receives positive reviews from pet owners.

Insect preparation: Be prepared for significant insect activity, particularly mosquitoes, during warm months. One camper at Memphis KOA shared that "the mosquitoes were unbearable. Very few people were spending any time outside due to the bugs." Pack appropriate repellents and screened shelter options for outdoor relaxation.

Pool temperature considerations: Swimming facilities provide welcome relief during hot summer months. "The pool was clean and a great way to cool off," notes Zack L. about the Memphis KOA facility. Morning swimming often provides more comfortable water temperatures before afternoon sun exposure.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling expectations: Memphis KOA receives praise for exceptionally level parking areas. "The most Level site in our 6k mile trip," according to Kathy F. This reduces setup time and eliminates the need for extensive leveling equipment.

Access route awareness: Navigation to some properties requires careful attention. Memphis KOA has a "strange side road entrance" according to Melisa J. First-time visitors should verify turn-by-turn directions rather than relying solely on GPS navigation which may not account for specific campground entrances.

Power reliability concerns: Utility interruptions occasionally occur without advance notice. One Memphis KOA visitor reported: "They knew they had no power and didn't give us a heads up before showing up. We paid for FHU which means full hook up." Contact properties directly before arrival to confirm current utility status, especially following severe weather events.
