Excellent Campground

As mentioned in other reviews, the road in can be a little sketchy, but I think it adds to the adventure and once you are there, wow. Owner meets you at the gate, very nice guy to talk to. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Tons of stuff to do with the kids. They loved the lake and…

Great tent camping!

This is a lovely campground! The spots are spacious and tree covered. Many loops are great for tents (our favorite!) It’s full, but doesn’t feel crowded and the guests were quiet. The RV loop has gravel pads and some have enough room to squeeze in a tent. It’s gravely though so be prepared if…

Nice quiet campground

We stayed for 2 nights while we visited Fallingwater and the Flight 93 Memorial. We should have stayed another night so we could visit Fort Necessity NP just down the road but ran out of time. Park was well kept. Staff working hard getting things ready for the upcoming Memorial Day crush.…

Rain and Mud

We have a camper van 20 ft long. Our first site was way too short and along a road. Second site was better much more private but very un-level. They limited where you could walk your dogs only on a certain loop. It was pouring rain and mud was everywhere. Deep woods sites.

Nice little state park

Most lots are gravel with the exception of the handicapped spots. Tomlinson Run has added a few 50amp spots this year 2021. Sites are electric only 30amp with a few 50amp. Plenty of hiking, fishing, paddle boating, mini golf, and swimming in the public pool.

  • pets are welcome
  • nice spots spaced apart

Nice little campground

Our first visit to this campground and we actually found from using this website! We wanted a secluded site and close to Pittsburgh.

We arrived around 7pm and there was no check in, we drove around for a while trying to find a spot with a fire ring per some helpful campers. There are two…

  • Beautiful sunset!
  • Be mindful if you plan a hike how long it will take you, these trails are harder!
  • Map in the bathroom, didn’t see until morning! Not all sites were open yet.

Fun camp spot of the Gap trail

Free bike-in camp site with water access along the Youghiogheny River. Access from the Allegheny Gap trail. There were a few shelters, nice campsite. It’s close to an old cemetery which is useful in telling ghosts stories around the campfire

Quiet and well maintained

Spent one night here midweek in late May. Most campsites were unoccupied, so very quiet. Site 172 is right along a babbling brook. Showers were hot and free. Everything was very well maintained. The nearby small lake has a large sandy beach and beautiful views. Would have been nice for paddling…

Primitive Camping is a MUST DO

We loved our stay! We definitely lucked out with one of the best campsites; we were right next to the creek, it was super spacious and super private. There’s rough terrain so typically these sites are walk in but there wasn’t many people so they allowed us to take our truck which was very…

Great option very near Pittsburgh

This was a lovely camp ground with very nice people. Lots of type of site options. Mix of seasonal and weekend camping. We stayed early in the season so many of the amenities were not open yet. We did watch kids fishing and pulling fish out as soon as they put their line in!! So much fun for them.…

No sleep.

Pool was very nice. Playground area extremely sketchy and needs an upgrade. “Dj night” turned into an “all nighter” and my three children were woken repeatedly.
