Toketee Lake Campground — Umpqua National Forest

We stopped for the night. Found a spot without reservations. We got half off with our national park senior pass. $8.

Beautiful forest camp near a lake.

Our family go to yearly camp spot! We love it so much it has been out l family tradition to camp at every year ever since I was 8!

Wonderful campground in a great location. Only a couple miles off the main highway so no car noise. There is a beautiful lake there but mosquitoes can be awful. The sites are spacious but not very long so large trailers would struggle to fit. The road was a bit rough. Vault toilets are clean enough. A small river runs through the campground. Good reception with Verizon. Only $10 a night.

North umpqua trail runs through this campground. Beautiful lake/river. Toketee Falls is a short hike as well. Crater Lake National Park was about an hour. We stayed in the large group spot as the rest of the campground was full. Rustic campground without water.

Toketee campground is one of my favorites. It’s usually reserved through summer but if you drive up you’re usually lucky enough to get a space! The bathrooms are vault toilets but don’t smell and are pretty clean with toilet paper stocked. There hasn’t been a camp host in for a few years. Lots of mosquitos!

Do you like techno music? The campground is nice, but maybe it's the proximity to Eugene and the hot springs that makes this a party place. 3 different groups blasting their music during the day and into the late evening. Two people had fires despite the no fires signs all over the place. Okay, now the campground. Nice, spacious sites, clean pit toilets, garbage bins. The river is cold but refreshing. The lake itself isn't very nice. No great access where you'd really want to park for the day. There is a nice picnic spot at the very front of the campground with a nice river access to cool off. The N Umpqua trail is BEAUTIFUL. Just an amazing hike. Toketee falls is IMO the prettiest in Oregon. The hot springs are great too. It's just too bad other campers can't be considerate of others. Soured the camping experience. Thankfully the trail, waterfall, and hot springs made up for it. BRING EARPLUGS.

Sites were pretty spacious. Nice running creek background sound at most sites. Toketee Falls and Umpqua Hot springs (open when we went mid July) hikes are awesomely nearby. Would recommend!

There were tons of bugs and mosquitoes when I went so I'd recommend applying bug spray everywhere!

A lake, a waterfall, and a hot spring all within hiking distance, what more could you want from a campground? And the lake is next to the campground! There are two reservable loops here. Check the dates on the reserved hang tags carefully as there are a LOT of dates listed for this popular campground. Basic vault toilets that are about ready to be emptied. Every site is about equal with large parking pads, lots of trees, nice solid picnic tables, and good fire pits. The road will be very dusty when dry, so drive slowly here! The only down side was a couple who were digging through the trash for recycling, yelling and screaming at each other. Later they were up at the hot spring as well, still screaming, still digging for cans and bottles. 

Be sure to hike to the waterfall and to the hot springs!

Nice campground. Decent spacing. No bad spots. Lake access isn’t great we tried to hike to the falls from the campground but count get to it by foot. N.umpqua trail DOES NOT lead you to toketee falls. Drive back down the road for access to the falls. You can hike to the hot springs but it’s about 3.5 miles. There were some loud neighbors partying til 2am both fri/sat nights but that’s to be expected in southern Oregon.

Big complaint- the rec.gov reservation site map has the A and B loops reversed. I made a reservation well in advanced and should have been riverside but B10 ended up being highway side and A 10 was the site I thought I was getting. Kind of ruined the trip for me as the river side sites are primo. A1-A9 are river side.

We were walk-ins at Toketee Lake, surprised to find not just a campsite on a summer weekend, but an amazing campsite right on the river with lots of hammock hanging options. Slept right between the trees to the sound of the river.

In the evening before sunset we hiked up to the Umpqua Hot Springs - this is the closest legal camping to the hotsprings TH. 

Each site had a table and fire ring. Loved all the trees.

• be aware that it does not show up on GPS; type in Toketee Lake and follow signs for ranger station and once you pass that continue for about 1.5 mile until you reach the campground sign
• some tent spots along the river that are nice
• no on-site ranger, no running water in bathrooms
• 10 min drive to Umpqua hot springs & Toketee Falls

This campground is reminiscent of days gone by. Located along the banks of the beautiful upper North Umpqua River, and the North Umpqua trail campers can enjoy nature. The local area is home to the Toketee Ranger Station, and a unique Historic hydroelectric power generation system. Toketee Lake is well suited to canoe and pontoon fishing. The lake is cold and German Brown trout can be caught on loot or fly. This campground is with in 2 miles of the beautiful Toketee Falls and 5 miles of the stunning Watson Falls. In addition to the North Umpqua Trail the Clearwater trail provides cascading aqua clear waters and cool temps on hot summer days. The area hot springs are disappearing and potentially unsafe. Local residents reported problems with car break ins and in sanitary conditions from over use.

Great campsite for many activities in the area or a stop before Crater Lake. Very close to the Umpqua Hot Springs as well as, I’ve heard, awesome mountain bike single track. the campsites are fairly spacious with a nice fire pit and tables. However, there isn’t much privacy between sights. The bathrooms are typical NFS pit toilets and were very clean.

Great place to camp within close driving distance of Umpqua Hot Springs and Toketee Falls. Popular in summertime, water front sites fill up fast. Beware of mosquitos in summer months.

When you find this place uncrowded it’s a great place to be right along the river. No hook ups. A few pull through sites and bathrooms are clean. Umpqua Hot Springs are a few miles down the road. Enjoy!

I enjoyed the Toketee camp ground because was away from everything and the employees and people were very kind. Our camp spot was very nice, quite, and relaxing. The camp ground wasn't very full and there were plenty of activities around the area to enjoy.

Thoroughly enjoyed camping here. Lots to explore! Enjoyed hiking the Umpqua trail up to the hot springs. Also explored the lake near the campground. Loved the sort hike toToketee Falls.
