- be aware that it does not show up on GPS; type in Toketee Lake and follow signs for ranger station and once you pass that continue for about 1.5 mile until you reach the campground sign
- some tent spots along the river that are nice
- no on-site ranger, no running water in bathrooms
- 10 min drive to Umpqua hot springs & Toketee Falls
Doesn’t get better than Detroit Lake! Campground is in a beautiful spot with easy access to the lake for boating, fishing, swimming, etc. Only complaint is that this campground gets very busy and fills up fast!
Quick access to gorgeous coastal views and beach walks, yurts available, & playground for kids
Stayed on opening night of this season and it was absolutely lovely. Ranger was friendly and helpful, and provided us directions for walking down to the water for a gorgeous morning view. The campground was quiet and tranquil during our stay, and our site was situated in mossy trees with lovely views of sun rays poking through the trees in the morning. I can’t wait to go back to Humbug!
This campground was situated in a great area with short drives to nearby hikes. It was family-friendly and felt very safe. Some of the lower sites had views of the water which was lovely. However, it is situated above train tracks and was therefore very noisy at night so we did not sleep much at all. If noise is a factor for you, I would consider staying elsewhere, or trying to get a site higher up on the loop near the entrance.
