The sites are quite wooded with plenty of space in between. We stayed in a 30 ft. motorhome, and the roads within the campground were kind of tight to get through with trees and curves. The gorge trail is a MUST," notes Laura L.
Finger Lakes wine exploration: Ferenbaugh Campground provides easy access to local wineries. "Nice place. Has plenty of close by attractions. Kids enjoyed the the big playground and mini arcade. Has a large pool for swimming and fun activities," explains Nick O. The campground's location makes it ideal for day trips to nearby vineyards.
Swimming in natural settings: Robert H. Treman State Park Campground offers a unique swimming experience. "You can swim in the waterfall area here. Need I say more? Actually, it can be VERY busy in the summer time in the swimming area, making it difficult to find your own 'space.' However, the hiking trails are awesome," shares Matt G.

Private wooded sites: Watkins Glen State Park receives high marks for site privacy. "Tent camping is nice here. The sites are good sized, they offer cabins as well. The bathhouses are clean and well lit at night. This is definitely a large family area. Expect to hear your neighbors once and a while," explains Deb S.
Clean bathroom facilities: Hills Creek State Park Campground maintains excellent facilities. "The shower and bathroom facilities looks brand new. Everywhere you look there is green space. What you should know
Water quality issues: Some campgrounds report water concerns. "Make sure you use a water filter, there was a lot of sediment in the water when we were there. See pictures of 4 days on a new cartridge," advises Michael H. about Ferenbaugh Campground.
Pet restrictions: Check trail policies before bringing dogs. "Dogs are allowed but they are not allowed on the gorge trail. I'm ok with this I just wish I had know before we got there," notes Lindsay C. about Watkins Glen State Park Campground.
Site drainage: Heavy rainfall can affect camping conditions. "The one negative was the time we were there it rained heavily and the ground was quite saturated and roadway was somewhat flooded," reports Cheryl W. about Clute Park and Campground.
