Nothing special

The good: large, spacious, private sites that are all fairly level and all about the same size. Beautiful pool with 2 water slides, arcade, and cafe that wasn’t opened during the week but will be starting July 1. Clean facilities. Store was fairly well stocked with things you might’ve forgot to pack. Staff was nice.
The not so good: lots of rules and charges for every little thing, our walkie talkies picked up on staff conversations and we heard they wanted to charge a family a guest fee for a delivery driver if he was on site more than 15 minutes, Showers cost money at $0.25 per 4 minutes, no wifi at all and poor cell reception, pool is NOT heated as they state all over their website, trash is not picked up, no activities or anything to do other than swim. Far from downtown Lake George and no trolley service, charges for early arrival regardless of whether sites is available or not and you can’t sit in their parking arrival area and wait. I would not choose this campground again. It wasn’t horrible. There is so much more they could offer for their resort prices that they charge. Drove through Lake George RV resort on Rt. 149 and I think I’d choose that campground next time. Check out the boats you ride on Lake George! The Adirondack is dog friendly! Get the coupon at the arcade for $3 off the $25 cost. Frontier Town gift shop on Rt 9 with the big teepee out front had great selection of stuff for good prices. Northway Brewing was fun with good beer!

Great Sites and Pool, lacking in other areas

Just returned from a week trip with two other families. We were all very excited to go here, it's been on our radar for a couple years now. Overall I would rate our stay there a 3.8 out of 5.

Pro's - site size and privacy. For a private campground the sites are large and well spaced out. We stayed on a premium site which is larger than their standard.

Cleanliness - all parts of the park were very cleaning. Bath houses were well kept.

The Pool- this is their best feature and is basis of most of their marketing material. Kids absolutely loved it and we spent several days poolside.

Cons- lack of activities, outside of the swimming pool there was not much going on during the day. For the price of this place we expected a packed schedule of activities. They had some stuff, but mostly just one thing in the morning and then something in the evening.

Not very kid bike friendly- Maybe the loop we were in just wasn't the best for kids. The hill was steep along with a loose gravel surface made it tough for younger riders to enjoy themselves.

Office staff could use a few courses in customer service. The last thing a customer that just spent $2500- for a week of camping with extras, (plus camping with two other families) wants to hear is a regurgitation of policy over a single $20- wristband for the pool. Ultimately, a manger did rectify our concern as the pool closed due to thunder about 30 min after the pass was purchased. We asked to get the pass for the next day instead and it was huge issue. It wasn't even about the money, more a matter of principle and how the request was handled by the staff there. This incident alone put a sour taste in our mouth.

In the end it was an overall decent trip, although l will likely not return to a Moose Hillock location again.

Big Rig Friendly

This is a difficult review. Huge park and kid friendly but very expensive for what you get. Level sites and very large. We arrived 18 minutes early. Had to pay $100 for early arrival!!! I ask I if could sit in the parking lot for 18 minutes, clerk advised I would have to leave the property!!! You don’t just drive around town with a 45’ motor coach with a toad. We will not be back. Not for us.

Spacious Sites…at a cost

This campsite is certainly worth visiting. The sites are spacious, employees are friendly, and pool is amazing with clean facilities. The campground labels itself as a resort however the small amounts of amenities make it difficult for me to agree, especially when I have to drop my own trash at the dumpster near the front gate as they don’t offer trash pickup. This is one of the only campgrounds I’ve been do that didn’t offer this service.

We didn’t pay the $125 site lock fee so was given the second to last spot in the campground even when many of the spots went un-rented for the weekend. The golf cart rentals are VERY expensive at $100/“day”, meaning 3pm-11am. This means you only get about 5 hours a day to use assuming you are going to get a normal nights sleep.

We were excited to have access to the cafe located next to the pool, unfortunately it was closed the entire weekend as the employees scheduled to work it ended up calling out as they had other priorities.

The campground does offer bundles of wood for sale at their store however it’s twice as expensive as most other campgrounds we’ve visited coming in at $10/bundle. There are several residential homes next to the campground that offers 2-3 bundles for only $5 so be sure to grab before you enter.

All in all, we did have a good time and the kids were happy which is ultimately all that matters. Worth a trip however will likely give another resort a try down the road next year.

Spacious private sites

What makes the place outstanding are the very spacious and relatively private sites. And there’s a large heated pool with a real resort feel. It’s pricey, but worth the cost.

Really nice private sites

It’s been said before in other reviews but the sites are all so private it was a fantastic upgrade from other campgrounds which just feel like a parking lot. The campground as a whole is really big and it was a bit of a hike to get to the pool/store from my site so if you don’t like to walk definitely rent a golf cart. Because the sites were so private, noise was not an issue at all. I didn’t have any problems with loud kids or teens. I didn’t actually go in the pool but it looked really nice. They also had lots of fun events going on for Memorial Day weekend. Overall will definitely be staying here again!

Nice Campground

The sites are roomy and semi-private which is nice. The pool is very cool, my kids really enjoyed it, but it was crowded and you are constantly dodging footballs & other balls that are constantly whizzing by your head. The pool is a little less crowded at night & lit up nicely.

Overall it wasn't bad, but there are just better campgrounds in the Lake George area. We wanted to try it, and we are glad that we did, but it just didn't make our list for campgrounds that we would return to.

Huge Sites!

The sites at this park are huge. You could have parked three RVs in our site. Added bonus is that there is nice separation between sites with trees and shrubs that block out your neighbors and provide lots of privacy. Pretty much all the sites are the same except that a dozen or so don’t have as many large trees around them and are pretty open. The angled sites and wide roads make backing in very easy.

There are closer campgrounds to the town of Lake George but none of them are as nice and the sites are so much closer together you feel like you are camping with your neighbor. The large pool(a.k.a.“Aloha Beach Tropical Swimming Pool”) is the major attraction for this park. It is touted as the largest heated campground swimming pool in the northeast and features caves, waterfalls, waterslides, led lights, swim-in theater for nighttime movies, and cabana rentals. It was closed while we visited due to the Corona Virus but I’m sure it can get quite busy in the summer. Attached to the pool is also a café serving lunch and dinner which is convenient for being at the pool all day(but it was also closed during our stay). If you want internet, bring your own because there in none at campsites. I was able to use my Verizon hotspot which worked fine. There is a cable hook-up at each site. I was able to use my roof-mounted satellite dish and get reception but that would not be true for all sites. The bathrooms and laundry were clean but laundry costs were high at $3.50 for a wash and $3.00 for a dry. The park is very large so if you want to be near the pool/entertainment area or nearby bathrooms, pick your site accordingly. The park has a nice camp store with everything from t-shirts to RV supplies to food. You are allowed to bring a golf cart or rent one from the campground so watch out for the flurry of golf carts driving around(especially those operated by teenagers). If you need propane, there is a very convenient fill-up as you enter the campground.

Nearby is good hiking in Adirondack Park where trails range from easy to difficult and have some great views of the lake and surrounding area. The Inman Pond Trail(about 15 minutes north of the campground) is a nice easy walk in the woods which takes you to a pretty pond good for fishing and a great place for my dog to swim. Others like Pinnacle Trail and Buck Mountain have great views of the lake and surrounding area. This campground does come with a high price tag. It was $66/night during the first part of our stay but them jumped up to in-season rates that were $99/night plus $20/night because it was a holiday weekend(and they consider the Thursday before Memorial Day part of the holiday). We did get a 20% Covid-19 discount because many activities were cancelled and the pool was closed but that is still pretty steep.  Their price for firewood is $9 for an average size bundle but there are plenty of places along Route 149 with better prices.

Huge sites, love the privacy!

Stayed before peak season in the days leading up to Memorial Day weekend. Very quiet and park was almost empty as they had just opened for the season 2 days prior. Covid 19 I'm sure was part of the reason. As a result the playground and pool was closed. Still loved it there. Golf cart rentals (4 and 6 person) were expensive so we just walked the park multiple days. Each site is gigantic and well thought out and can easily say there is not a bad site in the place. Best sites are along the outer perimeter as they provide more privacy. We stayed in site 137 and had woods and some flat grassy areas behind us. A family could easily set up badminton or play catch back there. It's a short drive to Lake George Village, Great Escape and the Erie Canal system and southern end of Lake Champlain. Great ice cream and mini golf located walking distance from the park. We will definitely be back!

Large sites, planned activities, minutes from lake George

Campground has large full hook up campsites and plenty of them. Each site is mostly level and seems private with having greenery around each site. There are planned activities each day like limbo, scavenger hunts, movie night at the pool( in summer months) and a great pool to swim in with two water slides. At $96/ night it is pricey, but still less expensive than staying at a hotel resort. Bonus is you camp in July, there are raspberry bushes throughout the park!!

Great campsite, great pool. Cafe service is horrendous. Preachy.

The goods:

Campsites are the largest and most private I've ever seen. Fantastic. Good privacy.

Dunno why others are complaining about the 3 rocks as a fire pit. Plenty functional and directs the heat out towards the seating area.

The pool is as good as it looks in the pictures. Your kids will be here every day and love it. The deepest the pool gets is around 4 feet. There are 2 slides and they are pretty well monitored.

The check in staff and the store staff are great. Very helpful. The camp store is pretty well stocked.

The needs improvement:

The café staff are completely incompetent. I went through 3 people to find someone that spoke English. A very basic order of 2 slushies took over 20 minutes and they were both wrong. I watched the same thing happen to the next 4-5 families while my kids drank their slushies. It has a ton of potential but terrible execution. I tried again a day or two later and bought some lunch, it took an hour and the order was wrong.

The playlist at the pool area seems to alternate between Jimmy buffett / Bob marley (great!) and a 5 year old's sunday school religious kid songs (wth??). Super annoying. Combine that with the pamphlets handed out at check-in, it's a little preachy. Save that for church, I'm here to camp, Thank you.

Me and my family go here at least twice a year. Its our favorite getaway spot. The campsites are nice and secluded but extremely spacious which is a very rare combination. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Great location within a short driving distance from Lake George.

Nice large spacious sites

Attended the Adderondack Baloon festival, stayed here for 3 nights, it was off season so the pool was closed. Pretty much every site was nice & private. Some friends came for a 2 hour visit & had to pay a $12/per person visiting fee. Wicked UNREASONABLE , we've camped a lot I've never seen the fee so high especially for off season, there's nothing to do so why such a high fee, I don't get it.

Great place to stay

Sites are massive. Even though this is a private campground, each site is like it’s own private oasis with plenty of trees to make you feel like you are camping at most state campgrounds. You are not on top of your neighbor and can actually have some privacy. Great pool (actually boasts the largest heated pool in the Northeast US) and activities. super clean bathrooms and laundry. My only “knock” against is the fire pits. 3 haphazardly arranged rocks does not constitute a legitimate fire area.

Great Family Campground. Big sites

Sites are huge. Plenty of room for our RV, and small tent. Private. Can’t say enough about the pool. We had multi-generations camping. From the great grandmother to 2 1/2 yr toddler we all enjoyed the pool. Walk in style, large, heated, slides. Loved it. Nice playground. Came a bit pre-season last year for weekend. Downside.. had to wait till 2wks prior to book since we are under the 4 night minimum in season. pricing is for 2 adults, 3 kids. our family is mainly adults now so it really jumps the price. We camp with our 2 adult kids & my Mother plus my grandson. So we have to pay for 3 adults an extra $12.00 a night each! Adds up fast
