This campsite is certainly worth visiting. The sites are spacious, employees are friendly, and pool is amazing with clean facilities. The campground labels itself as a resort however the small amounts of amenities make it difficult for me to agree, especially when I have to drop my own trash at the dumpster near the front gate as they don’t offer trash pickup. This is one of the only campgrounds I’ve been do that didn’t offer this service.
We didn’t pay the $125 site lock fee so was given the second to last spot in the campground even when many of the spots went un-rented for the weekend. The golf cart rentals are VERY expensive at $100/“day”, meaning 3pm-11am. This means you only get about 5 hours a day to use assuming you are going to get a normal nights sleep.
We were excited to have access to the cafe located next to the pool, unfortunately it was closed the entire weekend as the employees scheduled to work it ended up calling out as they had other priorities.
The campground does offer bundles of wood for sale at their store however it’s twice as expensive as most other campgrounds we’ve visited coming in at $10/bundle. There are several residential homes next to the campground that offers 2-3 bundles for only $5 so be sure to grab before you enter.
All in all, we did have a good time and the kids were happy which is ultimately all that matters. Worth a trip however will likely give another resort a try down the road next year.
My family and I have stayed at a KOA in Mystic, CT multiple times as a last resort. The service was terrible, grounds were terrible, and the amount of noise day and night were brutal. Naturally we had a bad taste in our mouth when a spot became available at Quechee KOA for memorial day weekend but didn't have another option. From the second we pulled into this campground we were greeted with 5 star service and friendly staff. A woman met us at my truck and checked us in and we were then guided to our site by a gentleman in a light utility vehicle who then marshaled us into our spot. Workers were scattered around tending to the mulch beds and planting new flowers. Within the hour we were sent a text asking if we needed any supplies such as firewood and ice. Our firewood order arrived within minutes with a big smile and even took a few minutes to chat with my young son. At one point over the weekend I sent a text to order firewood over two hours past the office closure. We received a text that the office was closed, bummer! Lo and behold a gentleman STILL showed up with our wood! Overall we were very happy with our stay and have already reserved our spot for next Memorial Day Weekend.
We've stayed here twice due to its proximity to Mystic. The grounds are ok at best with most of the activities closed. Staff is very rude. A good example; "How can I get change for the laundry facilities?" to which the staff member at the front office replied "ummmm ask?". Due to its proximity to I-95 you hear traffic all day and all night. I recently stayed at a KOA in Vermont and had a bad taste in my mouth because of Mystic. I was absolutely shocked at the difference in service between the locations and will likely stay somewhere else when in the Mystic area again.
