WHERE THE FRONTIER IS AT YOUR DOORSTEP While New Frontier RV Park wasn’t around when Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid robbed the First National Bank of Winnemucca on September 19, 1900, we are sure they would have found a way to stay with us, enjoy the great outdoors and maybe they would have decided not to rob the bank on the way to becoming infamous outlaws. Make your reservations today and see if you can solve the controversy over whether or not it really was the “Wild Bunch.”

Excellent RV park with good facilities

I stayed here at the last minute and was welcomed by the staff upon arriving. Good sites with decent room, the bathroom and shower facilities were excellent and everything was very clean. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area!

          Rye Patch State Recreation Area

As noted in other reviews good stopover on long drive

Stayed a night in June, then a night in September.

NV State Park that was not taking reservations at time we visited, and was 1st come/1st serve (might be different now). June: Picked out a nice spot on W side with shade, but neighbor had obnoxious generator going constantly so we moved to site 2, which was quite nice with shade, access to bathrooms, showers, a water tap on site. $20/night for dry camp for out-of-staters, many have a shade structure over the picnic tables and most appear fairly level.

For an extra $10 there are a few sites with electric on a bluff above the campground, which is below the dam, on the south side but NO shade or trees, basically on gravel.

Water in reservoir quite low, so no boats apparent but some rafters. Wild turkeys strutting around the campsite, including one Tom in full fluff. Cell service was one bar and supposed LTE in campground, but unable to pick anything up. Was able to get/send texts from parking lot at put in with Sprint/T-Mobile but limited access in actual campground.

Plan to check out west side campground later. September: Stayed again on way to Lake Tahoe. No one at attendant booth, just drive in and pay at credit card kiosk or with traditional cash and envelopes. Stayed in site#14 which was quite shady and next to bathrooms, although neighbor showed up late and his truck was parked very close and we heard their talking much of the night. Spotted a great basin gopher snake right next to our trashcan which was startling but it was gone by next day. Campground was initially pretty sparce (arrrived around 2p) but filled up pretty by end of day.

          Good spot

Just a short distance off the interstate. Was just passing through, quick overnight stop. Stayed in the upper level campground, did not go to the lower level with all the RVs and tents as I was planning on leaving super early in the morning. $20 for out of state, $15 for in state residents

          Great Spot By the Water

It was Mormon Cricket season, so that was weird. They were everywhere, but they were chill. The deer were fun to watch, as well as the cows across the street. The road is a little busy (off road vehicles whizzing by) but there are lots of places to pull off with picnic tables and fire pits by the water.

          A Welcome Oasis

I camped here for two one-night stopovers. It is a great spot for breaking up long drives. Easy to navigate, spacious sites, pretty scenery. The only thing I didn’t like was the bright light at the charging stations above the lower campground. Try to get a southern spot to avoid that.

This wonderful 10 large spot free camp has a 9 hole disk course. The course has legit "tee pads" and manicured "greens" around each basket. But. .. the rest of the course is wild rough, I had to shoot for the 4' wide trail to avoid loosing my disks

Great Free Site In the trees along a stream

10 sites well separated along the dirt road. Most will fit 25' rvs, a few will take larger rigs. Pit toilets, picnic tables, fire pits, BBQ grills, vault toilets and trash pick up! And did I mention it's free! AND. A Legit 9 hole disk golf course. Way to much rough, you'll spend a bit of time looking for disks unless your very good.

          Private

Roughly 30 minutes from the main highway, tucked away in a canyon past some quarry work and ranch land. Roads in the campsite are slightly overgrown as of 5 june 2021, but 4wd should not be needed(should consider high clearance). No service with Verizon, but the canyon was quite and will get you through the night in private.

Easy to access off the highway

Car camped here for the night on our cross country road trip. Easy to access off the highway. Surprisingly not noisy for how close it is to the highway. Lots of wildlife, including bugs (Lots of Mormon Crickets), and cow poop. However, beautiful views and only saw one other car on the road. Easy place to rest your head for the night. Spot is off the main dirt road towards the reservoir and has a homeade rock fire pit.

          BLM perfection!

We loved our overnight here, we got here on a Tuesday afternoon around 5pm and were able to get a good, spacious site for our 28 foot TT without detaching it, win-win! Site 7 that was, by the river (20ish steps away). Peace and quiet plus the river sound! Also saw a deer jumping through the bushes near our site, quite marvelous.

          Quiet, clean and convenient

Located just around the corner from a full service (Def pumps) Maverick truck stop, this quiet RV Park is a convenient stop along I80. Pull into an open spot in the overnight section and then walk over to the office to fill out an envelope, deposit cash or a credit card slip (4% fee) and then hook up for the night.

The sewer, water, electricity and cable TV hookups are all in great working order in all the sites we saw. Wasn't busy the night we were here.

Great place to spend the night. Very clean & well maintained. Level gravel sites. Gorgeous laundry facility! Directions to get here off the exit were incorrect. Just look for the Maverick gas station. Only negative was you had to pay for the showers - but the bathrooms were big & extremely clean.

          Beautiful place

We boondocked here for one night on our way home from a 12 day camping trip. It was a little hard to figure out where to camp at first; just follow the road up past the day use area which has a pavilion, parking and pit toilet. A little bit after that the sites begin. The sites are spread along the road, sometimes a single camp site and sometimes a couple of sites next to each other. It was dusk when we arrived and we actually didn't see the first couple of sites - we realized the next day on our way out that we'd driven right by. Then we saw some that were occupied. We ended up at site 8. It's large but quite uneven. It took us a bit to level out our A-frame pop up camper. It was gorgeous there. Surrounded by hills, Birch trees, and the stream running behind. Our site had a picnic table, fire pit, and BBQ area. The pit toilet and large garbage were just across from sites 8/9. The pit toilet is ADA, very clean, and didn't smell bad.

We would happily have spent a couple of more days here if we hadn't had to return home.
