Lots of birds and alligators to see. The tent camping sites are pretty small and close together. Each pad has its own water spigot though, and it’s a short walk to the swimming area. Only two pit toilets available in tent area.

Hosts are friendly and helpful. Campground is well maintained and offers good amenities for the price. Bathhouse is clean, well stocked and functional. Campground had a mix of families and fishermen. The tent only sites feel a little sterile compared to other places I've tent camped but the RV sites are nice and shaded. Facilities are wheel chair accessible. Will definitely stay here again

Basic tent camping not far from water on Lake Okatibbee in Lauderdale Co, MS. This place is no reservations, first come first served. There are no showers but there is a pit toilet. The grounds are kept up pretty good there is a picnic grill and a fire ring. It is only 10$ and uses the honor system.

Great stay! Beautiful park with many amenities. Have premium sites with 50/30 amp sewer and water. Have lake front sites, pavilions, cabins, and “glamping” tent sites. There is also two roped off swimming areas in lake, playgrounds, and boat ramp. Facilities are well maintained. Very impressed and will stay again.

Pretty campground with 2 great tent sites right on the river. Amazing sunsets. It was pretty cold so the mosquitoes were quiet but I imagine they get bad in warmer weather due to the adjacent swamp. I'm pretty sure we heard gators in the swamp at night. Awesome. Only complaint was a lack of enforcement of quiet hours. There was a hootenanny at one of the nearby campers that cussed and drank until midnight.
LegendFirst impressions are everything right! Well the camp immediately seemed well cared for, maintained, clean. It is pretty cheap 6$ for a tent site. There are only 7 sites and they are pretty close together. that is about the only con about this place. we had the site fairly to ourselves in april which i shocked about. if your into fishing, swimming, cheap, well maintained campground this is the place for you. We inflated the SUP and caused around a little. Well worth the 6$ Stayed for 2 nights. Lots of swimming fishing and paddle boarding.

Located between Collins & Laurel MS. Camped here in a camper van while visiting relatives in Laurel. Most sites accommodate big rigs, but there are a few tent sites as well. Popular campground; recommend reservations. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to camp in site 18. Most sites are large with good separation between them. Wooded, but almost no privacy between sites. Quiet, secure. Good folks running it. We'll maintained grounds. The restroom/shower house was clean. There is a laundry room. Beach at lake. Folks fishing at lake. AT&T service okay. T-Mobile weaker.

RV campgrounds on Lake Okatibbee in Lauderdale County, MS. The pads are asphalt and have electric, water, and sewer connections. They also have picnic table in good shape and a steel picnic grill. This is not a fancy park, but it is decent. It has a bath house- restroom and showers. It also has washer and dryers. The bath house is in pretty good shape- they keep it fairly clean. The staff is very nice. Most of the pads are in the woods with a few pads overlooking the water- none are on the water. We tent camp, but there are no primitive sites here. There are a few cabins that are closer to the water. This is a place we will come back and stay.
TravelerI tent-camped at site 15, located at the very end of the campground. Site 15 and 16 are on a peninsula. They are the quietest and most isolated sites at Service Campground. Site 16 has a bit more space and is closer to the parking spots. Site 15 has a small pathway leading down to the water for easy fishing. The site already had firewood, but the hosts pointed out a pile near the bathhouse that campers were free to take. The sun rises right in front of both spots and disappears behind trees by 3pm. The mosquitos weren't as bad as I suspected, but the other creepy critters come out in numbers to explore after sunset. That's to be expected being surrounded by water. Owning a boat would be a major plus here! It was a great trip and I'd definitely return!

Home of the longest water slide in Mississippi, this KOA is a great place to stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and the facilities are clean and updated. Camp sites are relatively spread out, especially the sites for smaller campers and tents. Great place for kids, with the pool, slide, game room and very small playground. There supplies store but it doesn’t have much in it. There weren’t many people staying when we did, so was a nice quiet stay.
Check in time is 2pm, check out noon. The slide is only open Saturday and Sunday from 2pm-6pm. Pool is open daily from 10am- 8pm.

The camp is very relaxing along the Tombigbee River. Camp has latrine and rustic campsites. Several spots with river view and have picnic tables, and flat gravel and dirt areas for campers, tents or other vehicles. Boat ramp, back on spots for larger campers or RVs. Roads paved all the way to camp. Also 4-5 Sites not as close to river, but near boat ramp. Great Sun Rises and viewing 3-5 barges pass each day, very relaxing camp.

Chose to do primitive camping for $15 plus tax, but they offer other options too. -dispersed camping -some sites near lake -mediocre fire pits -picnic table -quiet aside from other campers -other campers seem like they get kind of rowdy there, but this was also a holiday weekend -the sites aren’t numbered and are hard to find in the dark because the fire pits and picnic tables are randomly placed throughout the woods. It was like a treasure hunt to find them. -the amenities were far away which is why we’re giving it 4 stars.

Camping area is about five tables and grills scattered on edge of property. No real sites (no tent pads, no fire rings). Surprisingly little regulation: fires allowed anywhere, swimming “not recommended.” The friendly camp hosts actually encouraged me to camp in the day use/picnic area, since it is closer to the flush restrooms. Water spigots scattered around but most don’t work. Gate to park locks at 5pm (key provided at check in) which is nice for security. Clean area. Close to a highway but few cars traveling at night. I was the only person camping on a weekday.
$15/night. Not bad considering the locking gate and restrooms with water. The historical structures are neat, as is the waterfall. The whole park can be explored in less than an hour, so I can’t imagine staying multiple nights.
GuideWe stayed in site 4 as a one night pull through for our class A. We typically don’t unhook our Jeep tow for one night, but so glad we did here! The staff told us about a great restaurant to check out just a few minutes away in the downtown area, Weidmann’s. It was delicious! Apparently it’s the oldest restaurant in Mississippi and one of the oldest in the US. Downtown is super cute! Definitely go check it out.
The site was great too! We enjoyed a quiet night’s sleep and were nice & level. It was also super convenient to have propane on site right when you pull up for checkin. Would definitely stay here again.

Campground is definitely not the most maintained when I compared the other national forests I have been through. Everything feels most fun down. Bathrooms are falling apart but there is a shower with hot water if you dare.
It's a cheap place to stop. $13 with an Access pass for electric, water, dump station. Lake view. There is a trail around the lake which is a little under two miles around.

GuideFor the price(free) it's not too bad. The primitive toilet definitely doesn't feel like home and it seems the litter bugs abound but it's super quiet and peaceful. Campsites right on the rivers bluff. Laying in my hammock I can look out over the water while listening to the sounds of nature. Small boat launch seems pretty active. The trash bins are full and would benefit from being emptied more often. About half a dozen usable primitive sights that seem to be free and first come first served. No employees, attendants, or camp host have been discovered. There seem to be several campsites that are missing amenities. The usable sites have a parking space, gravel tent pad, picnic table, fire ring and lantern hook. None of the water fountains appear functional so there does not seem to be any running water. There is a nice hammock station installed by Troop 44 which is quite nice. Can't wait to see the sunrise over the Tom Bigbee river in the morning.

GuideThis 12 acre lake is one of our favorite camping spots. They have a group of volunteers who have put a lot of work into making this a nice state park, and the people that work here are the best. We have a pull through facing the lake. Beautiful view. It is close to the swimming spot for the campers so can be a little noisy during the day, but we didn’t mind. Love the lake for kayaks and fishing. We find ourselves coming back here again and again.

GuideHaven’t been to Clarkco in years, but we used to have our family reunion here every year in October. The cabins were large and pretty nice. Always had lots and lots of fun here.
GuideWe met our camper (and her prior owner) here at ClarkCo State Park. A perfect place to be introduced to her, complete our purchase and get oriented to our new (to us) camper. Lake side, lots of tree coverage has helped the August 95degree MS temps. Friendly neighboring campers, lots of kids swimming and kayaking. We even took the time to walk a trail or two. Dog friendly, easy hook ups. Prefect first camping experience so far.
