"This small campground (about 40 sites) is well off the beaten path, but still easy to access by road. This is the perfect campground to get back to nature."
"My site has a path right out to the lake. My 2p tent could easily fit on this lakeside spot but it is sadly much too windy on the lake today."
"Has a boat access, with a beautiful lake. You can go through little canals to get to other parts of the lake. Sites have perfect amount of shade. Defiantly will be going back"

"Really enjoy the secluded sites and the lake. It’s a small campground but it’s clean and quiet. Most sites don’t have water hookups but they do have electric."
"Tucked away in NW Ohio, close to the Michigan & Indiana border. We were in the north campground. Sites are all level, many very spacious which is unusual for Ohio SPs."

"Helpful if you’re staying at one of the nearby state parks that don’t have a dump station."
"We had lots of rain so we didn’t get outside as much as we wanted. The sites were grassy and mostly level. Trees added shade throughout."
"We brought down 2 30’ campers and we had 4 adults 3 children and two dogs and stay right next to the craft barn. It is a really nice camp ground with lots and lots for the kids to do."
"You might just step out of your camper and look straight at your neighbors. Starting to think all Jellystones are like this. 5 pools! water slides cost extra. Food prices are reasonable."
"A great campground with its own private lake for fishing and kayaking. Has an impressive indoor gym and climbing wall with many weekend activities for the family."

We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Delivered our firewood right to our site. Lots of shade trees, beautiful well groomed trails for walking. Even a dog park, which our Golden Retriever really enjoyed.
I stayed at this place when it was B&B and it is now a KOA. Several new sites were added and the park appears to be much cleaner. The restrooms are nice and the camp personnel are friendly. There is a dog park for walking the dog but with so much driveway I just walk the dog around the park. They have several dog bag stations around the park to make clean up easy. There are 3 playgrounds and boat area on the lake. I believe you can rent boats to fish even though I never have. I will definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed the stay at this campground. They have all of the KOA amenities pool, lazy river, jump pillow, playground and dog park. Entire campground was clean and well maintained. This campground also sits on the shores of Hogback Lake which is an all sports lake. Many things to do in the area Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve, Pokagon State Park(hiking, biking and horseback riding), Amish communities close by, Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, Angola, IN many shopping and dining experiences.
Nice Park Nice park for full timers. Large spots to accommodate big rigs and kids. Full hook ups. Cell service great with Verizon hotspot(22u, 20d, 38ms and AT&T cell(27d, 20u, 27ms). Playgrounds everywhere for the kids. Giant dog park and ponds. Pool was closed. Just needs more grass. Our spot was really patchy and resulted in a lot of mud. Great campground with polite and helpful staff. Don’t pass this one up.

We have been here a few times. Really enjoy the secluded sites and the lake. It’s a small campground but it’s clean and quiet. Most sites don’t have water hookups but they do have electric. There isn’t much to do outside of the campground but there is a nice lake with canoe and kayak rentals. Very pet friendly and even has a dog beach.
29 campsites pretty close together with old growth trees interspersed around the campground. Fishing pier and boating, playground area, and beach. No longer has primitive camping. Some hiking trails...short. is next to a busy road, so traffic all night. Staff was great! Showers and bathrooms cleaned multiple times a day. Pet friendly. Would stay here again!
Pet friendly. Great camp store. Clean campground. Nice beach. Beautiful!!
Pet-friendly camping near Hillsdale, Michigan offers diverse options with sites located throughout Branch, Lenawee, and Jackson counties. The region features rolling hills with elevations between 1,000-1,200 feet and warm summers with average highs of 82°F in July. Winter camping is available at select locations where temperatures regularly drop below freezing from December through February.
Water activities at Lake Hudson Recreation Area: Lake Hudson spans over 500 acres with numerous inlets and curving shorelines for fishing, kayaking, and swimming. "The lake was much bigger than we thought and lots of campers with boats. We didn't get to see most of the place due to rain, but the lake was impressive," notes Steven S. from Lake Hudson Recreation Area.
Stargazing opportunities: Lake Hudson is designated as a dark sky preserve with minimal light pollution. "The best part of this campground is the stars at night! This is a dark sky preserve campground and the stars are the show. We stayed here at the end of the perseid meteor showers and saw several of falling meteors," shares Michelle M.
River exploration on the Kalamazoo: Rental equipment is available for paddling excursions. "We went for a 2 night get away in August 8th of 2020. And we wound up staying a week. They rent out kayaks and canoos. I personally would recommend the kayaks," says Helen C. from Twin Pines Campground & Canoe Livery.
Private, wooded sites: Many campsites in the region offer natural separation between neighbors. "The sites are huge and private with tree growth separating each site. We brought our kayaks and went out on the lake which is big and quiet," mentions Michelle M.
Family-focused amenities: Activities for children are plentiful at some campgrounds. "They have a lot for the kids here: Pool 3ft-5ft, Air pillow, Large playground (very clean), Half basketball court, Sand Volleyball net, Rec room, Crafts on weekends, Corn hole boards, Horse shoe pits," lists Melissa M. from Gateway Park Campground.
Rustic camping opportunities: For those seeking a more primitive experience with electrical access. "This campground is semi modern with all sites being electric but there are no flush toilets or showers. The only place to get water is a hand pump right when you enter the campground," explains Michelle M.
Water conditions vary by location: Not all swimming areas offer the same experience. "Swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, sand beaches & more on a good size lake with tons of inlets & curvy shorelines," reports Cheryl M.
Facility differences between campgrounds: Bathroom and shower availability differs significantly. "The facilities are rustic. The facilities are port a potty type with wooden walls and cement floor. No showers. A hand pump well for water," says Marg B. from Lake Hudson Recreation Area.
Limited water hookups: Some campgrounds require preparation for water needs. "You do have access to drinking water, and there is non-flushing toilet (like a port-o-potty). There are also 30 amp electrical boxes if you want to plug something in," advises Meghan R.
Weather considerations: "November and 74 degrees Fahrenheit! Finally, I got a side booked at Lake Hudson Campground. It is very well sought after, and I tried it earlier in October, but weekends are full. Not so in November!" shares Birgit H.
Book well in advance for summer weekends: Popular campgrounds fill quickly during peak season. "This is a lovely recreation area. My site is HUGE. It is private! You will need the long cord if you plan on using electricity," advises Jennie S.
Look for campgrounds with recreational variety: Some locations offer multiple activities within walking distance. "This is a beautiful, quiet campground with very friendly owners! The bathrooms have showers (newly renovated), and there are both electric & rural campsites! The river was a joy to kayak," reports Kyla T. from Twin Pines Campground & Canoe Livery.
Check water access details: Not all waterfront sites have easy swimming access. "I visited this campground last summer! It was a smaller campground, but very woodsy (just how I like it)! The only thing that wasn't pleasant was the beach area (too small and muddy), and the fact that my boyfriend's mother had to pull off leeches various different times after being in the water!" warns Kyla T.
Plan for hookup limitations: Many campgrounds offer electric but limited water or sewer connections. "Our camper is self contained so this campground was a test of just how well all the systems work. The lake was much bigger than we thought and lots of campers with boats," explains Steven S.
Bring extension cords: Some electrical connections may not be conveniently located. "Extension or long electrical cords may be needed, as boxes are at back end and halfway to next site over," notes Cheryl M.
Check dump station locations: Some campgrounds lack on-site dump facilities. "They don't sell firewood there but a short drive gets you deal from the local farmer, the campground has no dump station so we had to drive to the next State campground, about a 30 minute drive, to dump the tanks," advises Steven S. from Quincy-Marble Lake Campground.
