This Bass Pro Shop in Gurnee offers a large, EZ-to-navigate lot with plenty of room to stretch out, mostly level pavement, and a surprisingly calm atmosphere for such a popular retailer, though you will hear occasional highway noise coming from nearby I94 and the soft shuffle of late-night arrivals settling in. We parked along the far northern edge where things felt quieter and more relaxed, then delighted the boys by picking up a couple of fishing poles inside, which instantly turned the evening into a mini adventure. For dinner, we strolled over to the nearby Shake Shack and enjoyed juicy burgers and crispy fries inside of what looked like an old-school soda jerk and a perfect family-friendly treat spot that felt special without any fuss. Our favorite moment was watching the boys proudly inspect their new fishing gear like seasoned little anglers before bedtime. I’d happily recommend this stop for families thanks to the spacious lot, an EZ overnight vibe and the fun combination of gear shopping along with a great nearby bite to eat.
