Three Island Crossing State Park Campground
Nice cabin, but not much to do after 5 pm and too expensive
We knew it would be hot when we visited this campground, so sprang ($55) for one of the few cabins with air conditioning. It was clean, small, and just fine. But there wasn't too much to do after 5 pm when the visitor center closed. No playground we could find, and the water isn't safe to swim in. Once the visitor center opened up in the morning though, that was an absolute gem. Would probably stay here again but just get a regular camp site. The cabin wasn't really worth it.

Miracle Hot Springs
Not for RVs or for people concerned about Covid
We stayed at Miracle as Banbury was fully booked for RVs sites. However, it was great to be steps away from the river.

No sewage but had electric and water (that leaked; rented spot 4 that many ppl thought was a drive through lane).

No one in their hot springs (including staff) were wearing masks or setting suicidal distant rules. No Verizon reception until you drive up the hill a little bit. Oh, and you'll have a great breeze of manure all day long.

Rock Creek RV Park
Love this park! First come, first served
OVERVIEW: The RV park is part of the county park- beautiful walking/bike path with the creek flowing through. Our back in site was nearby our neighbors, but felt spacious because it's an end site directly across from the camp host. Easy to navigate the concreted roads and the space was easy to back in to.

Hard to beat $20 for W&E hookups. It's a quiet campground. Trashcans all around the park conveniently. The area as you drive up seems a bit run down, but as soon as you get into the park, it's great.

There is a free public dump station 1 mile away in town since there is not a dump station on site.

The park has unisex toilets around the grounds that are vault toilets so nothing fancy. Picnic tables, lots of green space around and the trail goes for at least 2 miles round trip.

CELL SERVICE: We work remote- We used out AT&T hotspot and had an awesome connection. Reliable for video calls all week. Gradely harshly, giving 4 out 5, only because they don't have wifi and also ideally would have been nice to have sanitizer(especially this year) in the bathrooms. Everything was was lovely.

GUEST SERVICES: Camphost was super friendly. We came in around 8:30pm on a Monday night with fingers crossed we would find a spot.. and we did with no problem. If it looks full as you enter, keep going past the camphost and you will find the pull thru options. The camp host came over on his gator and shined his lights to help us as we set up. He was very kind.

NEARBY: Close to downtown Twin Falls with some cute coffee shops and breweries. Also about 50 mins away there is a place called Mammoth Cave that might be the most interesting cave experience you ever experience. I highly encourage it.

Listen to the sounds of highway cars and trains all night
We originally planned to camp at Three Island state park, based on the positive Dyrt reviews, but when we arrived there, the posted fee for sites was $34, which we found too expensive for our mere purpose of sleeping and then hitting the road again. We remembered a sign on the way to the park that read "Camping - RV + Tents. Less $$$ than state park." So we figured, heck, let's just go there. We read quickly online that the prices for tent sites are $15. Perfect! We arrive at 11pm, which yes, it's late, BUT the office sign was blinking "OPEN." So we thought no problem. We ring the camp host. He sounds grumpy but arrives a couple minutes later. He is definitely grumpy. He tells me they do accept credit card and it will be $25. I ask for clarification given the listed price online. He says "New policy as of 6 days ago. I'm sick of people arriving late at all hours." Fair enough...but turn off the "Open" sign. I agree to pay it, we're exhausted at this point, and at least the campground has showers.

Some pros: very close to highway

Some cons: very close to the highway and a train track.

The tenting experience: we listening all night to the sound of bug zappers, hourly train whistles, and speeding cars. See the video for reference. The tent sites were flat at least. A basic grill but no picnic table provided. It is probably convenient to have the wifi and laundry on-site, but we wouldn't know because we left as soon as we could after a near sleepless night.

I love getting away with the family here. No phone service.. I plan a trip here 2-3 times a year just for that reason. Nothing better than to put the distractions away for a couple days. One of the most beautiful and quiet places I have ever stayed. Little stream for kayaking or fishing. No power sites but the sites all have a grill and fire pit. Bathrooms but no showers.

Clean, simple and decent priced sites
Tent sites and rv sites available!

Tent sites are on a nice large green patch of grass. Park right next to your tent.

The bathrooms are locked for paying campers only and have a sink, shower and toilet. Very clean and nice.

There is also a locked washroom for paying campers to use as well.

The owners live on site and are very friendly and are happy to help with questions!

Very decently priced when all you need is somewhere to set up your tent for the night and get up and go in the morning. Would also be great for staying longer!

Located in the town of Glenn’s ferry but still far enough away from public so you don’t feel like you’re camping in town.

Restuarants, gas stations and a few convenience stores within a 10 minute drive of the campground.

Interesting history is available to see close to the campground as well. Learn about the Oregon trail!

What a find!
This was the best find of our trip from San Francisco to Yellowstone. It’s a little off the beaten path and seemingly in the middle of nowhere.

Room for about 12-15 camping sites, many having fire pits, a few with tables. All are along a grassy area and river front.

We showed up at 4pm on a Saturday and found a spot for our 30’ RV. It seems like it’s heavily used during the days but most clear out around sunset.

We were able to fish, kayak, hike, have a killer campfire, and check out the stars. Great, free river front camping.
