The park offers full hookup RV sites with water, sewer, and 50-amp electric connections. Pets are welcome in both RV and tent camping areas, though sites are noted for being relatively close together with limited privacy between neighbors. Country Corners Campground & RV Park and Boise Riverside RV Park also accommodate pets, with the latter providing direct access to the Boise River Greenbelt for dog walking. Amenities at these parks include clean shower facilities, picnic tables, and trash service. The sites are generally well-maintained with clean facilities that remain open 24 hours for camper convenience.

The Boise River Greenbelt provides an excellent 19-mile trail system for dog walking, connecting directly to several pet-friendly campgrounds in the area. Leashed pets can join their owners for hiking, biking, and exploring along this scenic pathway that runs from the campgrounds to Lucky Peak Reservoir. Local RV parks enforce standard pet policies requiring owners to clean up after their animals and keep them leashed when not in designated off-leash areas. Several campgrounds in the Eagle area maintain year-round operations, allowing for pet-friendly camping regardless of season. Visitors note that while the sites may be somewhat close together, the friendly atmosphere and well-kept grounds make these locations suitable for travelers with pets seeking convenient access to Boise and surrounding attractions.

      Swan Falls - Idaho Power

      Not terrible

A little bit misleading in the description. There are some established camp spots and then there is some “dispersed” camping. In reality the dispersed camping is more like established camping on BLM land.
It can be a little bit confusing when you arrive but you take a right turn away from the welcome sign. You’ll travel by a boat launch on your left and some construction type equipment on your right as you travel down a dirt road. The mile or so is the established camping in Idaho Power property. It’ll be on your left as your drive. About 2ish miles in you’ll see a beat up sign marking the beginning of BLM land. After that there are turnouts for the “dispersed” camping. There are permanent fire pits and even some pit toilets so not exactly dispersed in the overland sense, but more like camping in the 80’s if you are old enough to remember that.
You won’t need a 4WD rig. A front wheel drive sedan can do this drive, but the road is bumpy. It was dry when I went to maybe if it’s muddy it would be more treacherous.
All in not a terrible camping spot. You’re right on the river and the bugs are too.
Remember, kids, only trash leaves trash and don’t be the weirdos “out in nature” with your Bluetooth speaker blaring music.

      Hi-Valley RV Park

      Excellent and quiet

The only thing I can say is it would be nice if there was more room between RVs. Other than that, excellent facilities, crew, pool, spa, off leash dog park, laundry, showers, garbage pick up(wow right!), Good power, good water pressure, stores nearby, just a great stop!

      Ambassador RV Resort

      Great for Telecommute and Streaming

I was here alone with my two dogs during the heatwave of June 2021 (104°+). The dogs and I didn't leave the RV much due to the heat. But we were parked next to the pool, it's small and busy late afternoon early evening. The little dog park was nice although we only used it a couple times since one of my dogs does not always get along well with other dogs.

5G and 2G wifi were excellent. Towers throughout property for access points. Never a week signal. I was able to telecommute and stream without any issues and never used my Hotspot or cell data.

I would have given 5 stars except for closeness of RVs, it's difficult to reserve a site, and because of the heat and my dogs, I didn't use any of the amenities or visit any destination.

I do prefer dispersed RV sites, however this site came through in a pinch for the heat wave.

      Boise-Meridian KOA

Way too close to be comfortable

This is an urban rv part. The sites are packed in very tightly so they can squeeze in as many people as possible. Shower and bathroom were ok. There is a pool, hot tub and small dog park. Not much else to do here. We stayed one night on our was to Craters of the Moon Np.

      Boise Riverside RV Park

      Nothing special

Glorified parking lot. Sewer connection isn’t threaded, instead they provide you with a rock to place on top of your line so it doesn’t blow out everywhere. Pets are allowed but the only grassy area in the whole park dogs aren’t allowed in. The entire front of the dumpsters had broken glass scattered all over the ground mixed in with the dirt and rocks. And my last complaint BEES!Hornets and wasps were surrounding our outdoor area. The laundry building was clean and maintained. Overall it worked for the 3 nights we stayed but I wouldn’t want to stay longer.

Country Corners Campground & RV Park

      Very very nice park

Well managed, clean, beautiful landscaping, level sites, clean restrooms, plenty of showers, supply store, full hookups, pet friendly, wifi in most of the park, excellent prices.

      Exit 3 RV Park

      Parking Lot off the interstate

This is pretty much a parking lot behind a gas station near the Idaho/Oregon border.

      Herrick Reservoir Access

      Just ok

Camping is free, limit of 10 days. Not really any designated sites and surrounded by private land with aggressive signage. Not all roads around the reservoir are public, so be prepared to turn around and back up at dead ends. We came to an orange gate that said "private property", and stopped. While trying to turn around, we noticed a white truck sitting behind us. When we turned around and passed him, he motioned to roll down the window, and then berated us and called us idiots, even though we had not even entered the private land, nor did we want to. We felt threatened. In the end we chose a site on the upper road of the reservoir. The view was nice but not close to the pit toilet. No fire ring. No table. A no frills place. Like many lakes in Idaho, the reservoir is mostly dry. Not a huge deal but not the prettiest to look at. There is only one single pit toilet for the whole reservoir and someone was set up right next to it like it was their own. People ride off-road vehicles here. In an area with slim pickings for free camping, I guess you have to take what you can get.

      Boise Riverside RV Park

Management is Nice Enough, But the Place is a Dump

Like most (it seems) campgrounds, this place is badly in need of maintenance. When it rains, the "roads" (term used loosely) are mud puddles. Your site is too, unfortunately. Most of the park is long-term scum campers, junk all over the sites, loud trucks, loud music.

To top it off, many of these hobos take pleasure in putting dog food bowls of duck food out, so you can count on duck crap all over the place, on your rig, on your vehicle. The constant quacking makes you think you're on an island in the river. It will drive your dog nuts too.

      The Greenbelt:

Pretty, but VERY overcrowded. If you're looking for some peace walking by the river, forget it. Spandex wearing cycle maggots, too self-important to even bother to say "on your left" or ring a bell, come ripping up behind you, inches away, as if they despise you "being in the way". Most are wearing mirror shades so they don't have to smile at anyone.

All in all, there are much better places to spend time in Idaho. Try Idaho Falls, or Twin Falls. Stanley and Coeur d'Alene are both gorgeous. Boise is basically California, including the the corresponding batch of jerks just like you find in California.

Originally planned to stay here three months, left after a few weeks. Obviously, won't be returning.

    Guide to Eagle

RV parks near Eagle provide electric, water and sewer connections with sites spaced 20-30 feet apart on average. Most campgrounds in the area sit at elevations between 2,300-2,800 feet, with summer temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F from July through August. Proximity to both the Boise River and the foothills creates camping options with varying terrain and access to outdoor recreation.

    What to do

River recreation access: At Boise Riverside RV Park, campers enjoy direct access to the Greenbelt trail. "There is a greenbelt that runs from the campground all the way to Lucky Peak Reservoir, a distance of 19 miles," notes Mike H., who appreciates the riverside location for walking and biking.

Speedway entertainment: Some travelers plan their stays around local racing events. The KOA Boise Meridian RV Resort provides a convenient base for racing enthusiasts. "We love staying here and going to the meridian speedway!! The campsites are always clean and hosts are great," writes Kathe M., who specifically chooses this location for race events.

Fishing opportunities: Several campgrounds offer on-site fishing access without needing to travel. "Clean well maintained. Backs onto the Boise green belt so it is an easy bike ride into town, breweries, museums etc.," reports Bruce G. about the riverside location that allows for both urban exploration and fishing opportunities in the same trip.

    What campers like

Clean facilities: Cleanliness ranks high in camper satisfaction. Visitors to Hi-Valley RV Park consistently mention the well-maintained grounds. "The only thing I can say is it would be nice if there was more room between RVs. Other than that, excellent facilities, crew, pool, spa, off leash dog park, laundry, showers, garbage pick up(wow right!)," shares Matthew M.

Swimming options: Several dog friendly campgrounds near Eagle feature pools for cooling off during hot summers. "It's got very nice access to a lot of plazas that are really RV friendly. The sites are well maintained and the site itself is quite beautiful," Justin R. notes about his experience at the KOA Boise Meridian property.

Social spaces: Many campgrounds design common areas for interaction. "Everything you need is here, pool, market, open space!" writes Amy S. about Hi-Valley RV Park, highlighting the community-oriented design that facilitates meeting other campers.

    What you should know

Site spacing limitations: Most RV parks in the Eagle area feature relatively close spacing. "The sites are pretty close, and the wifi is not great. Those are my only reasons for the 4 star," explains Sarina at KOA Boise Meridian, echoing a common observation about site proximity at regional campgrounds.

Noise considerations: Highway and airport noise affects some properties. "This RV park is clean and very well maintained. There are many full-time RV residents here. There are also spots for short stays. The location is near the the central part of Meridian, there is no open land, rivers or other natural attractions within walking distance," Amy S. shares about the urban setting.

Year-round availability: Ambassador RV Resort and other parks operate continuously throughout the year. "Huge spaces. Level, clean, well run. No complaints. Laundry has 6 washers at $1.50. Really nice spaces. We are coming back next month. Great place to stay anytime you are travelling on 84," notes Coddiwompling F. about their consistent experience.

    Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly activities: Some campgrounds offer dedicated children's areas. At Caldwell Campground and RV Park, families enjoy lakeside recreation. "We pulled in after the office closed. We didn't receive a packet, which we have become accustomed to, but we had a site map and found our camp space. We were right next to the lake #69... Family and dog friendly. Great bike paths and lake fishing," explains Jenna M.

Budget considerations: Tent camping options exist at select facilities, providing more affordable alternatives to RV sites. "This is primarily an RV park, with monthly rates. It is very well manicured and maintained. There is however a nice tenting area with plenty of shade and grass. This is separate from the RVs and you might be the only one in the tent area," Daniel L. explains about Country Corners.

Safety features: Parents appreciate secure facilities for children. "I have lived here full-time for over 3 years. It is beautiful, quiet, calm, and very safe for children and families," reports Chelann L., highlighting the family-friendly atmosphere at campgrounds in the area.

    Tips from RVers

Directional guidance: Some RV parks have challenging access points. "Kinda confusing getting off the interstate," warns Michael C. about Abundant Life RV Park, suggesting newcomers should carefully review directions before arrival.

Site selection strategy: Back-in sites near natural features often provide the best experience. "Try to get a back in site to the green belt if you can," recommends Jenny W., who discovered this advantageous position during her stay at Boise Riverside RV Park.

Utility reliability: Power connections vary in quality and capacity between parks. "Hookup is easy and all in good shape," reports Mark S. about Ambassador RV Resort, noting consistent electric service even during peak summer cooling demand when temperatures exceed 90°F.
