Best RV Parks & Resorts near Midland, GA

Midland offers several RV accommodation options for travelers seeking full-hookup sites in west-central Georgia. Lake Pines RV Park & Campground in Midland provides full hookup sites with water, electric, and sewer connections, along with shower facilities and dump stations. Pine Mountain RV Resort, located about 30 minutes north, features spacious RV sites with full hookups, cable TV, and amenities including a swimming pool. Camp David RV Resort, positioned south of Midland, offers full hookup sites in a developing landscape with easy access to Columbus and nearby fishing opportunities. Sites throughout these parks accommodate various RV sizes, though gravel surfaces at some locations can present leveling challenges. "Large gravel on road and sites making leveling difficult. Sites are fairly close together but better than some. Landscape is in its early stage so grass is sparse," noted one visitor about Camp David.

Most RV parks in the region remain open year-round with varied reservation requirements. Cell service quality fluctuates between properties, with Verizon typically providing the most reliable coverage. Pet policies generally allow dogs with standard leash requirements, though pet waste compliance varies between parks. Several campgrounds position RV sites near water features, including lakes and ponds, providing scenic views despite occasional railroad noise at certain properties. Proximity to shopping is convenient, with larger communities like Columbus and Pine Mountain offering supplies within 15-30 minutes of most parks. During football season, campgrounds near Auburn fill quickly as game weekends attract significant RV traffic to the area. Laundry facilities are available at select locations, though amenities vary considerably between budget-oriented and resort-style properties.

    3 Creeks Campground

    Quiet for the most part

I stayed at 3 Creeks for a week as a dry run with a new Class A motorhome. The sites were not too close together, so that is a plus. A lot of full time residents, but mostly a quiet in-the-woods location. They have a mini water park, so expect some playtime noises during operation hours. Full hookups with 50 amp service and friendly hosts. Pet friendly, though most people do not clean up after their fur children.

    R. Shaefer Heard Campground

    Great Lakeside Camping

This park is located on the southern end of West Point lake near the town of West Point, GA. This is a wonderful park with 117 sites all located water front or water view, the sites are equipped with water, 30 or 50 amp electrical, table and fire ring. For this trip we stayed in site 115 which was level and paved, there was also a concrete pad with picnic table and an additional dirt and gravel tent pad area. We brought a canoe which was launched direct from our site which made this very convenient for morning and evening paddle trips. We also had bicycles, the park has good paved roads that are great for low impact bike riding.

There was good over the air TV reception as well as Verizon cell service and LTE data coverage. There’s ample shopping for supplies within 3.5 miles of the park in the towns of West Point and LaGrange.

The only negative for this park is the bathroom. There are two bath houses provided and several toilet only facilities, all are functional but in need of renovation. As as others have said, the park gates lock at 10:00 PM and there is no gate code to allow access after hours.

This is a great COE park with sites that provide views seldom found, we stayed here in a 20’ travel trailer.

    Chewacla State Park Campground

Great little state park just outside Auburn.

Traveling back east, we found Chewacla State Park campground on The Dyrt. Due to heavy rain, did not make it as far as we wanted, so this was a last minute same day reservation, which we made online.

Total fees were $42 for a full hookup site. We got site 34 which is an 80' long back in spot. Super easy to back in, even in super dark conditions with heavy cloud cover and no street lights of any kind.

Water pressure is awesome and they have both 30 & 50 amp electric. Sewage is nicely placed in a low spot so you won't need a hose lifter (a rarity in our experience).

Out spot is across from the bath house, but also the dump station. No smells, but I would imagine mornings might be a bit congested and noisy as other campers are leaving and dumping.

Also directly across from the site is a large picnic shelter. Sites are decently spaced apart, though site 35 is a pull through, and though unoccupied on our nights stay, might make it feel a bit more cramped.

Our site had a fire ring and picnic table. And even though it's close to the highway, no noticeable traffic noise. Only thing we could hear were some kids playing across the campground.

It's about 5 minutes off the interstate and very easy access (just watch out for the staggered speed bumps at the campground entrance...it's narrow, too.

No wi-fi in the park. But Verizon 4G was 3 out of 5 bars on my Samsung S20+.

Overall a great spot and easy to reserver online for those looking for a calm and peaceful overnight. Looking forward to getting a run on the trails in the morning!

    Camp David RV Resort

Beautiful area near lake and river walk

This is a new RV park with full hookups. WiFi is available for long term guests through Mediacom. Daily, weekly and monthly rates with up charge on electric after 800 kWh.

On the outskirts of Columbus. Fishing, Paved river walk for walking and biking, near Ft Benning and golf course. Pleasant owner with big plans to make this a great park. Assisted us with getting to and in our site at dark. Camp host is very helpful.

Cons: large gravel on road and sites making leveling difficult. Sites are fairly close together but better than some. Landscape is in its early stage so grass is sparse. Beautiful trees surround the area but none on sites.

    Lakepoint Resort State Park Campground

    Great stay in winter

We stayed at this campground in a pull through site in February on our cross-country adventure. Plenty of room for big rigs. Easy to navigate roads. Safe for kids to ride around on bikes for hours. Site are big and the one we were at backed up on woods. Great view of the lake and sunset.  Lots of beautiful space to explore in the park, even in the chilly weather. Will definitely have to come back in the Spring!

    Great State park and camping

We were on site 213 and 214. Beautiful wooded site lots of space between sites in this loop. Very short walk to lake. Loop 1 sites are lake front and lake view but more close together than we like. Sites pretty level and gravel. Concrete picnic table, fire ring and light pole with lots of room fir our dogs. Bathroom facilities were very clean, with showers and laundry. Placed well around the campground. Playground but not opened at this time. Lots of hiking trails, pool, can rent canoes and paddle boats on the lake. Dog friendly. Close to Calloway Gardens and little town of Pine Mountain.

Guide to Midland

The Midland area features a mix of developed and primitive camping options spread across west-central Georgia's rolling piedmont terrain. Most campgrounds sit between 500-700 feet elevation with humid subtropical conditions that create mild winters and hot summers. Rainfall averages 50 inches annually, distributed evenly throughout the year, making spring and fall the most comfortable camping seasons.

What to do

River recreation access: The Chattahoochee River offers fishing and paddling opportunities near Camp David RV Resort. "Beautiful paved path leading to dog park, playground, golf course and river walk. Recommend screen shelter as there is no shade and it can get hot and buggy," notes a camper who visited this newer property south of Midland.

Wildlife viewing: Pine Mountain RV Resort positions campers near Wild Animal Safari park. "Very close to Calloway Gardens, FDR State Park, and Animal Safari! Nice quiet and clean sites," reports one visitor about this well-maintained campground located approximately 30 minutes from Midland.

Strawberry picking: Seasonal fruit harvesting at Lone Oak RV Flower Farm creates a unique camping experience. "Visit in the month of April & May so you can pick strawberries & blueberries," suggests a reviewer about this small property offering sites under pecan trees.

What campers like

Clean bathroom facilities: Pine Mountain RV Resort earns praise for well-maintained restrooms. "The restrooms near 185 were large and very clean. They were up to date and comfortable to shower in, etc. campground was the cleanest we'd ever been to and extremely easy to navigate," comments one family who appreciated these amenities.

Spacious sites: Bar-W RV Park offers unusually large camping areas. "Each site is quite large, I've never seen such large campsites before. There is a bathhouse and two laundry rooms. It's on a cow farm, and sometimes the cows get lose but are sweet and generally stay right by the fence anyway," describes a camper who enjoyed the rural setting.

Pool amenities: Auburn RV Park at Leisure Time Campground provides swimming options. "There was a shower room, restrooms, laundry facilities available and all were clean. A huge beautiful pool and a children's pool, all were kept up nicely," mentions a visitor who appreciated these recreational facilities despite highway noise.

What you should know

Train noise considerations: Lake Pines RV Park & Campground in Midland experiences periodic railroad disturbances. "Quiet except for the train that rumbled by at 3AM. Not a lot of solitude," notes one camper about this otherwise convenient location offering various accommodation options.

Cancellation policies: Several rv sites near Midland, Georgia implement strict booking rules. "There is only one thing I find as a negative. There new policy of full (non-refundable) payment is now required when you make your reservation. Unless you want to pay an up charge for your nightly rate," explains a visitor to Pine Mountain RV Resort.

Site leveling challenges: Camp David RV Resort presents terrain difficulties for some RVers. "Large gravel on road and sites making leveling difficult. Sites are fairly close together but better than some. Landscape is in its early stage so grass is sparse," explains a camper about this developing property located south of Midland.

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly space selection: Request specific sites that accommodate children's play areas. "We stayed in site 185. While it was one of the more expensive sites in the park it was well worth it. The nice lady that answered the phone made the recommendation when I told her I'd like somewhere for my kids to run. They're 5 and 3," shares a visitor to Pine Mountain RV Resort.

Water features for recreation: Several campgrounds near Midland offer swimming options for families. "The pool area has a kids pool and hot tub along with the regular inground pool. There are not many trees in the campground for shade but if you have an awning it shouldn't make to much of a difference," notes a camper at Pine Mountain.

Farm experiences: Ramsey RV Park provides a different camping atmosphere with rustic charm. "Owner and office (Mike & rhonda) are very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Full hookups, salt h2o sparkling pool. Over 55. Bath house - dated but clean. Laundry facilities," reports a visitor about this property located near Warm Springs.

Tips from RVers

Game day planning: Auburn football weekends impact availability at regional RV parks. "This is a popular RV campground for football fans coming to Auburn Games in the fall. There is very little shade and it is on a busy highway but up off the road a bit. Football fans are notoriously rowdy but this is a more civilized group," explains a reviewer about Auburn RV Park.

Electrical service limitations: Check amperage before booking rv sites near Midland, Georgia. "30 amp circuit was not adequate. The breaker continually tripped while using small kitchen appliances," warns a camper at Pine Mountain RV Resort, highlighting infrastructure considerations for larger rigs with multiple appliances.

Supply proximity: Dollar General stores provide convenient resupply options. "Other than that we had a great time and really appreciated the trash pickup twice a day and the Dollar General that was only a 1/4 mile down the road," mentions a visitor to Pine Mountain, noting this practical amenity for extended stays.
