Very beautiful here. If you want to walk your dog on the beach, just travel out of the park about 5 miles. St. George allows dogs to walk on the beach on the leash of course.

Very nice and quiet camp site. Each site is very private, and the camp is very secluded. After entering the park, it's a four mile drive. The closest large town is about one hundred miles away.

The beach is walking distance, but no pets are allowed on the State Park Beaches, but pets are allowed on the public beaches outside the park.

There's not much shade for tent campers.

This camp ground is hard to get into, so it's best to book early.

Lastly, although the camp ground have electric outlets at each site, 20, 30, and 50 amps, the closest high speed EV charger is 56 miles away in Mexico Beach, about one and a half hours drive.

This campground was really enjoyable. Sites are a decent size, close to each other but the trees and shrubbery provide enough privacy. The bathhouses were pretty nice as well. Spacious showers and hot water. The only downside to this location was the bugs— definitely recommend mosquito nets and a thermacell. We only stayed one night, but the management did spray for bugs around sunset.

The activities on the island are amazing too. There were a couple boat ramps to launch kayaks from, lots of wildlife, a beautiful beach, and the stargazing was phenomenal.

The campground is easy to access with mostly level sites. Some sites have shade from overgrown brush/trees, enjoyed having the divide between sites. Easy access to the beach. BUT, the bathhouses need a lot more attention. Stayed a whole week, and the cleaning done was very minimal. It wasn't because campers were being destructive after a cleaning, it was clear it just wasn't being cleaned daily. My main complaint is, to no fault of the campground, was the amount of mosquitoes and other biting insects were unbearable. Insect repellent didn't work. Be careful of fire ant hills, they are everywhere. Bring all necessities because options are limited for shopping in the area and considerably more expensive than normal.

Short and sweet this park wasn’t for us. Aside from the overly friendly wildlife.. the large over 5ft rattle snake taking up residence in the space next to ours(which I know we are in the wild) made it a no go. The park is dated and not very spacious. Very small sites, bathroom was horrible and we got a refund minus a cancellation fee and called it a day. Never even set up our gear. Ymmv but for us this was a no go and the first state park in Florida we just left without staying. Sad on Mother’s Day but we did enjoy our local favorite.. blue parrot.

Site 13 is smallish but perfect for our 20ft travel trailer. We love the closeness of walking to the beach and the nearby Gap Trail.

Clean sites, hot showers.

Nice campground. Camp host very nice. The bathrooms are clean and have nice hot water. Short walk to beach. Make sure you are stocked up on food and drinks. Very small grocery about 10 miles away. No laundry. No Wi-Fi but AT&T streaming works.

Everything was amazing there. The sunset the sunrise - we had the beach to ourselves most of the times. It’s that kind of place where you really relax. Bathhouse clean and well maintained. Friendly rangers, stunning beach and Picknick areas.

Wow. The rest is for you to discover on your own.

This is a great place to camp. The campground is well maintained and has all the amenities, and you are so close to both the gulf and the bay beaches.

There are two bath houses with free hot showers. One little free library. The only recycling is aluminum cans and the green propane canisters, which I rarely see so that was cool.

No sewer hookups on site, there's a dump station.

Only one trash dumpster by dump station, there are no trash cans throughout campground.

Clean, quiet, fun place to stay.

We went to the end of the island on the trail that runs down the center, and walked / biked back via the gulf beach. Sand on the beach is hard packed enough that we were able to ride our bikes right on the beach. The trail had a lot of washed out areas and we were constantly getting on and off the bikes, so the beach route is maybe better if you're going to bike.

A lot of day users and fisher people on the beach, lots of activity and people.

This is my favorite campground so far. The bathrooms are modern and super clean. We turned a 2 night stay into 14

Had a nice time, campground surroundings were beautiful. Only complaint was sites are pretty close with little privacy . Not made for real big rigs.

Highly recommended, the campsites are fairly small but lots of privacy in an oak and pine hammock across from the beach. Not many tent campers when I went there, I think I was the only person with a rooftop tent. Almost everybody else was in RVs.

Electric and water at each site, nice facilities including showers. Make sure you get there before sundown so you can register and get your code for the gate. Luckily a nice camper let me in since I arrived after 7:30 p.m.

Absolutely gorgeous beach, very nice campsite.

St. George Island State Park is gorgeous. The drive over the bridge is breathtaking. The lighthouse stand at the end of the bridge. Take a right to drive along the Gulf Coast to the park's entrance. Beautiful beaches and day use areas were open. Some areas were closed for hurricane damage repair.

The RV campsite is nice. Some of the spaces are maybe a little crowded. I opted for a primitive campsite at the end of a 5 mile hiking trail. Trail was alternately hard-packed and ankle-deep soft sand. Very difficult to pull my cart (which was not the right choice for this task). I struggled with the cart which blew a tire .5 miles into the hike. I'm too stubborn to turn back. 

Very difficult getting to the campsite, but once there if was awesome. I had the community campsite to my self. The sunset was amazing.

Had trek back the next morning with a limping cart. Lessons learned, get a better sand cart and for goodness sakes, take less stuff.

Small tranquil campground, sites are kinda tight, very well maintained. Sandy rv pads that were pretty level,Bath house centrally located and very very clean, camp host exceptionally nice, Electric and water no sewer. Went very first week of July 2020 and it was HOT, sand knats were bad. The beach here was better than Destin, absolutely amazing, the bay was great for fishing and kayaking. Very short trip to the beach. Definitely a return trip coming soon

Have waited six months into our RV life to start reviews for fair comparisons. Stayed 3 nights in 35 foot RV+tow car at$29/night. This stop was not ever part of our plan but when the winter weather forecast for TX came in we decided to extend our Florida stay before heading west as planned. We absolutely LOVED this campground and wish we could have stayed longer. There aren’t many trails, but the ones that are there are miles long in a gorgeous setting. Even saw a Great Horned Owl one evening. And of course the (empty) beach truly is a“forgotten coast” that was lovely. Had gloomy cold rainy weather almost the entire time while there but that could not put a damper on how much we loved it.

We stayed in site 12 in early January. This site had great separation from the neighboring sites and felt private. We took the trail to the “bay” (as the ranger called it) and it was an easy walk with beautiful views of the water at the end. Unfortunately it rained the rest of our stay so we didn’t get to enjoy the other beaches or stargazing. Important to note though, even at the beginning of January, we had hundreds of mosquitoes in our RV by the morning (even with limited door opening). The 3-4 mile drive from the entrance to the campground is beautiful! Looking forward to returning to this park in the future.

We loved this campsite! Only complaint: sites could have more privacy, but I always say that ;) Some sites were more private than others or went back further. The most private site seemed at the very tip opposite of the entrance/exit. Mostly RVs and adventure vans when we were there, saw a handful of camps and hammocks.

• really clean, updated bathrooms. Score for the shower stalls with a bench and hooks!
• nice layout! There’s two bathhouses for 50 slots so every spot is close to a bathroom.
• five minute walk to the beach :)
• good stargazing
• buffered well from the wind

Stop at Lynn’s quality oysters for some local (albeit now farmed) oysters and smoked mahi mahi dip! Also, the island has two seafood trucks where you can buy local fish, shrimp and other non local seafood!

We family camped here for three nights. The campground is clean, quiet, and has friendly hosts and rangers. Bathrooms were clean and well lit. It's about a ten minute walk to the beach access and there is also parking for cars. From the entrance of the park to the campground is roughly three miles of unspoiled dunes and trees. The views are beautiful with little light pollution at night. The sand is sugar white and clean, minus some seaweed. We saw a few dolphins from a distance and collected some neat shells. It was foggy while we were there, but normally the views on the beach are long range.

This is such a nice campground. There isn't a bad site, they all have privacy. Big pines mixed with palms and lovely breeze to keep it comfortable. You can walk to the beach it's about .5 miles. The bathrooms are super clean and the entire campground itself is very well kept. There's ok cell service and each site has water and electric. A dump station is available. Loved our 2 night stay over the weekend, highly recommend!

We found a spot last minute after covid-19 hit on April and I am so glad we did. I read about the beautiful white sand beach at St George Island and pictures can’t capture the reality. The campground is very well maintained, restroom including showers are impeccable as well as all surrounding areas. The amazing stars in the skies during the nights are just breathtaking and wild life such a owls howling was unique. The protected dunes are really unique and the sites are good size and easy to back in. They sell ice bags as well as lighter wood if you forgot yours and the path to the beaches are very nice. Great area to go fishing cycling and swimming in the great warm ocean waters at least on September. Never have experimented this temperature on waters, not even in the Caribbean beaches which I come from. The ranger are very informative and friendly.

The campground is located at the end of an island away from city lights and is perfect for night photography of the stars. The sites are located about 3 miles from the ranger station and because of this there is almost no cell phone reception. There are two campground hosts on duty in case of an emergency. The sites are large and well kept however because of the site fill used (oyster shells) we do not recommend camping with dogs. These types of shells can easily slice feet and paws. The campground has 60 campsites, a playground, electricity, water hookups and dump station. Be sure to ask the rangers about the local wildlife! There's an alligator that lives in one of the two freshwater lakes at the entrance to the campground.

We had been coming to St George Island for years, but this was the first time we had stayed at the state park campground. We already have reservations for next year! It's a beautiful island with white beaches and little commercialism. The state park is a strip of land between the Bay of Apalachicola and the gulf. So many places to explore on foot, by bike, or by kayak. It's a perfect location for bird or dolphin watching, fishing, sunbathing, or beach walking. The campsites are spacious, secluded, and relatively hard to come by. This is one of the state parks in Florida that books up very quickly. The Island is fun to explore. There are a few restaurants and some stores- you can get groceries at one of two small grocery stores near the entrance to the Island. There are two breweries in the area- one in Eastpoint and another in Apalachicola. Apalachicola also has several restaurants and many small stores.

The beaches are like sugar (miles) and the campground is cozy with clean bathhouses. The park is not manned after sunset so if you're a campground guest make sure you call before 5:00 PM to make arrangements to get to your reserved spot because entry/exit into the park is only available by a coded gate after hours. Dogs are prohibited to roam the state park beaches however are allowed on the public beaches just a few miles away.

The sand is so solid and white, the sea shells are amazing and the water is deep, deep blue.

Beautiful State Park. The beaches are gorgeous. Great for fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

The campground is at the east point of St George Island, FL. Most sites have privacy vegetation but not all. Our site was 26 and at the far end of the entrance. Best thing about it was location to the trail head unfortunately closer to the playground. Many kids in the campground even when school is in session. Staff was pleasant. Bathrooms are dated and somewhat clean. We are one of only a few Floridians here this week. Water and electric, no sewer but they do have a dump station. Trails are wonderful and the beach is beautiful and empty. They are working to repair the Michael damage and really had little effect on our stay.

Very nice park. Lots of places to explore. Fishing is great. They have some very good restaurants in town. And there is a lighthouse you can climb.
