Pure perfection!

Wow, this place is something special! It's so amazing that part of me wants to keep it a secret...

First off, paddle boarding here is an absolute dream. We brought our own SUPs, and I'm so glad we did because the water is just perfect. The beach is fantastic for lounging around and soaking up the sun. There was even a group that brought a net for sand volleyball!

The trail that goes around Turquoise Lake is also perfect for mountain biking or a nice nature walk. The views are spectacular, and it's a great way to explore the area. We stayed at campsite 5, and it was amazing. Being a mere 50 steps from the water was pure bliss. Honestly, this campsite was perfection. I can't wait to come back again and again.

BEST OF COLORADO

One of Colorado's best campgrounds in my opinion. It is beautiful and on the beach of Turquoise Lake.

First come first serve, $24/night, $7 for each car after the first two. 20ish sites and they are all under a huge spread out pine glade. Well shaded during the day and keeps it cool as well as blocks the lakefront wind.

Water on site and great clean bathrooms. Trash dumpsters as well. No bear boxes but they recommend you put food in your car at night.

Short walk to the beach, unless you are lucky to get one of the beach front sites. Easy to get burned here so bring shade and sunscreen if you plan to spend the day by the lake. Lots of kayaks, SUPs, etc.

Very friendly and relaxed hosts. Dogs allowed, on leash, but hosts were chill with dogs off leash to get wiggles off..esp if your dog is obedient.

The campground is next to another campground with RVs and the generators get annoying as well as the folks who play movies on a projector right at "quiet time".

Only recommendation is to stay longer than you first planned to. You'll want to stay for quite a while once you are there.

Tent only and WORTH it

This is the best campground at Turquoise lake for tent campers. mostly because it is a tent only campground. There are two loops that you can camp in and the spaces are really far apart.

The loops are right on a beautiful beach with lots of space for hanging out on the sand or swimming.

The sites are large and have tons of space for multiple tents. It is quiet and serene with beautiful large open spaces for tents and could be a great spot for a group to reserve an entire loop.

The parking is in the loop with multiple parking spots per site but they are right next to each other. No Rv’s are allowed to camp here.

Busy but socially distant!

Even though I thought this campsite was pretty well spaced out they closed every other site to maintain social distancing. Beautiful trail along Turquoise lake and only a short drive to Leadville. Beautiful!!!

Incredible tent campground

Tent only campground with sites on the lake. The camp host and her husband are awesome folks and full of knowledge about the area. Had a beautiful site among the lodge pole pines steps from the water.
