Best RV Parks & Resorts near Exeter, CA

Bottom line....Make sure if you are following your gps, you key in Sequoia RV Park and not the one with RV resort. There are many ways to arrive here, but the most direct and easiest is on California State Highway 180. The park is open, but the office is not, so it’s find a spot and check yourself in. The manager Carlos stopped by a few hours after we were set up. The park staff is super friendly. Will be stopping by here again if we are over this way again. The views from the park are postcard beautiful

This campground/RV park saved us when all of Sequoia was either full or closed due to COVID. The host was nice and helpful. It’s accurately described in other reviews — basically providing a dirt parking lot and toilet/shower facilities. No privacy, but still much more than most RV shared landing pads. We were in the tent section at the site closest to the water. There were trees on one side. We LOVED the little dammed up swimming hole in the river. We did not love that several huge trailers were parked in the other site flanking the water entrance. They didn’t belong in the tent area and they ran generators through most of the day. Seemed like long-term or permanent residents. Oh well, we came for Sequoia National Park. It was a real bummer to lose so much time just driving in and out of the park (as opposed to camping in the center of it), but we were grateful to find this one and only available option in July with no reservation.

December trailer camping. Great park. Stayed by the river. Beautiful view. Will be going back again.

If you have a long fifth wheel or RV this place is perfect pull through parking full hook up. The front desk lady is so nice he has a small store there for incidentals that you might’ve forgot. Clean quiet. Great family place

Love the pull thru sites. We have a 34 foot 5th wheel and it was easy to get into these spots. Some spots don't have full hookups so look before you book your spot. All these pictures I took are in full hook up areas. When we checked in we got a mug and candy which was nice. The lady that checked us in was really nice and helpful. It was nice just to get away and camp anywhere. The rec room has a pool table and games, coffee, popcorn. They also have military discounts here.

I am so disappointed and feel cheated with this campground. We drove 4.5 hours to find that this campsite is dead, totally different place than the one in the website and pictures. Everything was dried up, 5-6 campsites were out of order due to electrical problems, Wifi does not work, and pond is dry ! When we got there they said just park any open site, so basically they don’t reserve you a campsite online so its all a surprise until you get there. They were holding spots for people that just reserved that same day. We felt so frustrated and cheated. This campground is more for long term living RV’ers. or for overnight stays. Luz was very nice lady in charge but I would definitely not stay here again.

Once again we heard about this campground from friends. We had been to the 3 rivers area before to camp but had stayed at another campground. This campground is our go to if we’re camping in Three Rivers. There are creek side full hookup pull through sites, pull through full hook site, back in full hook up and tent sites with raised wooden foundation for a tent. I would recommend this campground. Also the little town of Three Rivers is pretty cool to check out. Also there are a few places to fish and swim in the nearby Kaweah River. The campground is also a good place to stay if you plan on going up to Kings Canyon National park.

Nice place to get away for the week. There are only two sites that have full hook ups. Site 4 is not one of them. The restrooms were not very clean and the cleaning crew really needs to be replaced. Camp sights were busy with one day visitors. Weekend camping was busy with lots of noise, but the weekdays were quiet. Pine Flat Lake is really low with a long walk down to the lake. Drove over to the group camp sites and they have volleyball, corn hole and large covered picnic areas with extra large fire rings and bbq area. Water was available no power but they did have restrooms for both sites.

Stayed 4 nights the first two dry camping in spot 14 in the Oak Grove, nice and spacious with a little deck picnic table and fire pit. The last two nights in spot 26 (pictured) which was spacious on the small river (probably larger later in spring) and full hook up. Pretty mountain views from both sites. Turkeys and lots of birds roaming. We did see a bear too (in Sequoia not at the campground).

A lot of the other sites looked a little tight but not bad. Bath houses were okay not great. Showers use quarters. The place was completely full for our entire stay (Easter week).

The greatest part was the proximity to Sequoia/Kings Canyon (8 miles to the entrance). Would definitely stay again should we visit the parks in the future.

This place is REALLY out there. Seriously. While it is technically in Sequoia, it is very far off the beaten path and usually the roads to get there are super shitty and super winding (not recommended at night unless you're used to those conditions). But that's what keeps this place a secret!

If your camper/trailer is more than 17-18ft, do NOT attempt to come here, you'll probably get stuck on the way. You can get to the Scenic Byway by taking one of the forest routes as a shortcut (I wouldn't recommend it for vehicles that aren't either trucks or 4x4 SUVs…you will bottom-out in anything else, bc the road isn't maintained). I'm not sure how long it takes to get to the main pard via the regular routes.

There are several resident bears in the area, so you MUST take it seriously. Our site was visited nightly but bc we didn't leave food out it was fine. They come for the wild berry patches nearby. The toilets are fine (standard vault toilets) and there is running water. No showers or anything else.

I had planned to stay at the KOA near Sequoia as we had been there before.  But I didn't anticipate that we were going to be arriving on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and waited too long to make my reservation and the KOA was full.

I started searchingi for something else close to Sequoia and found Lemon Cove.  They were charging $117 for Sunday and $107 for Monday. 

I could not find anything else available and read the good reviews, so I went ahead and made the reservation.

I have NEVER paid that much for an RV spot, and was not happy about it.  I thought it must be a really spectacular park.  It was not!

We were traveling from Bakersfield which is only about an hour and a half away.  Lemon Cove has a 3PM check in time.  I have never been to a park that has a 3PM check in time.  This is not a hotel.  The office was closed from 1-2, so we waited for it to open.

When they opened it up, she said that she was not going to charge us the $25 early check in fee.  Which I thought was absurd to begin with.  She said she was feeling generous.

The spot we had was very uneven & the sewer is pretty much on an uphill slant from the trailer, which was an issue for dumping. 

Being Memorial Day weekend the park was full.  There was a huge group there (which don't get me wrong I have no issue with families camping together and having fun) and it was very noisy and crowded.

I would not have felt bad about paying for this ridiculously overpriced park if it had been a really nice resort type park.  But it most definitely is NOT.

This was just price gouging at its best.

Fantastic secluded campground with all amenities you need. Clean, quiet and convenient access to Sequoia National Park. With lovely staff who were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating, I would highly recommend these grounds for both tent camping and/or RV camping.

Advertised at $35 on The Dyrt, it was $63 with a discount. Closest bath house was mediocre, and no WiFi! Nice registration person offered her personal hotspot. As my 5th rv camping experience, I’m learning what to ask for up front.

It's not great, it's not horrible. There's two main sites. The main one is full hookups. It's nearly always full so you need to reserve as early as possible. The second site is on the back of base. Its dry camping only. And while much cheaper, the only dump site on base is in a really terrible spot. Difficult to get your rig into and out of. It's by the car wash so it's not far but not close either. Second site is 300 a month also. With some easy changes it could be great but I doubt they will.
