1 one camping getaway

This place is actually not bad to camp. If you look well you can find nice spots. Went there for a night only just to check out the place. Will definitely go back when the river has water!!!

Horse camp blessing

Was able to score a site that fit our 28’ trailer- joke was on us... there was NO way it could’ve worked, not to mention there was not a single other trailer, only tents. Headed back to the ranger and they gave us an open disabled spot (we have a placard) in the horse camp. It was AMAZING. Large…

Trailer camping

Lovely place. Feels much further away than it actually was, which is great when you’re traveling with young kids! Awesome playground only a short walk from our trailer camp spot (#16 which had a huge tree that made parking a little tricky) that had a great little secluded table/fire ring spot! Good…

  • challenging for my less than able-bodied one. was also windy. but great view. there is an easy or challenge route that you can go up and back instead of looping

Another good desert camp

Gets hot early in the year so as always bring extra water. It was walking distance from a hike that leads to a little oasis which I definitely recommend going to, to beat the heat! Sunsets and star views are incredible. Nice large camp spaces.

Nice KOA with an amazing resort-style pool!

This is one of our favorite KOAs! The sites are good, grassy in most places, and lots of trees. The best part though is the new resort-style pool with two hot tubs, rentable cabanas, huge fire pit, clean restrooms, and a cafe with local craft beer and good food.

Yaqui Wash/Valley vs. Yaqui Well

Yaqui wash (valley) is nothing more than a big flat parking lot off the road in the desert. Not much there really. Yaqui Well on the other hand is very nice-real desert camping with a variety of vegetation and terrain. Night and day difference! Two really nice well documented hikes near Yaqui Well,…

Hiking trail itself was breathtaking

Spontaneously went here to camp for the weekend. We arrived late Friday night and still found a spot for three cars. There were four other groups, but by morning they were gone. As expected it was very hot during the day and windy at night, but the small, one-mile hike was very much worth it.…

Surprise tucked just out of the way

Found this spot after being turned away from lake Moreno campgrounds. Plenty of room for our trailer and enough space between sites to feel like we were alone out here.

Great Car/Tent campground

Beautiful location. Quiet and picturesque. Easy to find. Great place for base camp with several trail heads. Campsites are spacious with plenty of shade. Secluded from you neighbors. Clean bathrooms and showers.

Go on the weekend

We stayed two nights but never could get on the lake. It opens Friday at 3pm (after checkout). I’m sure this is posted prior to reservation, but it’s surprising when visiting. We could reach the shore at the campground while camping WITHOUT our dog. Beautiful, grandiose views. Some sites need…
