This campground has a friendly vibe, with staff who go out of their way to help you settle in and make the most of your stay. Description

Kaibab Camper Village offers the ultimate camping experience at the Grand Canyon North Rim. We're the only campground on the North Rim with full RV hookups, and we can even accommodate big rigs over 40 feet. We also have tent sites and one cabin-style room. The North Rim is off the beaten path, quiet and secluded. From Kaibab Camper Village it is only a 40 mile drive along the beautiful North Rim Parkway (State Route 67) to the Canyon rim. Our campground is nestled in tall pines, surrounded by the Kaibab National Forest and adjacent to Jacob Lake and a beautiful meadow. Unfortunately, Jacob Lake is actually a pond, and there is no swimming or fishing allowed. The nearby forest and Grand Canyon have great hiking and nature trails, and horseback riding is also available in the area. To learn more about the North Rim, you may want to attend the Forest Service's interpretive programs in their newly restored historic ranger cabin and stop by the Kaibab National Forest Visitor Information Center. Rates vary depending on site.

Small spaces, not dog friendly!

We requested an available space on the map when making reservation. Even though it was vacant, we were squeezed into a smaller space with our picnic table seated next to our neighbors sewer drain hose.. yuck!!

Our dog (labradoodle-on a leash), got excited and barked a bit when the very close neighbors arrived at their trailer after being gone. We immediately began calming, and quieting her. We realize nobody enjoys a barking dog. The man camp host ran over to our site, and started yelling at us to get that barking dog inside our trailer.. what? We told him we were taking care of it, but his aggressiveness now really had our dog barking, because we all felt threatened. We took her inside, and left a day early, even though we had already paid for this anything but relaxing experience. We won’t be back!

Fabulous!

I'm here now and loving it. It's 111° in Vegas and in the high 80s here, maybe dropping the 40s tonight!!! Beautiful trees. Wonderful ppl to greet you ... and to help guide you backing up :-) Spaces are very close together but they're pretty deep. So far, I don't care at all. Do NOT use Google Maps to get here, it's very problematic! Waze, however, works like a charm!

Very nice campground and staff

Like most others as it would seem, we ended up here as a last resort from other campgrounds filling up, but it was honestly much better than what we had hoped. The bathrooms are port-o-potties with outdoor sinks, and everything was super clean. We paid $25 for a tent spot, and had our pick of the lot since very few others were there. The office staff was super friendly, and let us buy quarters for the coin showers with a debit card (in rolls of $10). From what we could tell there were only 2 showers, but we never had to wait and they were super clean, plus had full lockable rooms enclosing them. It was $2.25 for 5 minutes. If we were staying in the area longer, we probably would’ve remained at this campground, it had more than enough amenities to satisfy any camper’s needs.

Campsite #4

People; nice Location; easy to find Bathrooms; not good at all for size of this campground. 2 that are in so much need of work. Water everywhere when use handicap one ( which is only flushable toilet) porta pots otherwise with outdoor sinks. (Had to pay to sue showers) Place was full so no reason not to upgrade. Would not recommend due to this. Laundry room; didn’t use but others has issues. Campsite; good

Nice shady campground

This private RV campground is a short distance away from the GS campground. 1/4 mile gravel road to access. Nice shady spots in the pine trees. Showers and laundry are available to other customers not registered...quarters required. About 50 full hookup sites and an area for those that do not need hookups and for tent folks.

Quiet RV campground

The staff/hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. Very clean campground and quiet in the evenings. About 1 hour from the Grand Canyon North Rim. Electrical, water, and hookups worked easily.

Great campground for exploring the North Rim

We only stayed in this campground 1 night and it was the only one with RV hookups in the area from which you could commute to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon easily.  The sites are adequate, Ours was wedged between two other sites at an angle which made it a little tricky to back in but the hosts helped guide us in between other trailers and trees.  We did not have a full hookup (no black/grey tank hookup) but only really needed water and electricity.

I would recommend this campground for those wanting to visit this area.  The facilities appeared to be good although we did not use anything other than the dump station on the way out.

Adequate as a base station

For visiting the area. This is not a resort and is not ment to be. Sites are fairly level and dirt/gravel. Hosts are very helpful. Laundry is clean. It is about 40 miles from the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Supplies are available. FHU sites as well as dry sites. If the park is full, very good, level BLM camping is nearby. If you chose to dry camp here, generators are only allowed from 10am until 2pm. There is no limit to genset usage in the BLM area. Would definitely stay here again.

Last minute find

The campground we were hoping for was full but they mentioned this one was nearby and luckily they had openings! Long dirt road in and the staff was super friendly! There’s a tent spot that’s pretty private, we picked that one and I’m very glad we did! Other spots were pretty close and this one was ideal. Bathrooms are a short walk to ports potties with a running water sink which was nice. Overall a great stay!

Plan B

We waited too long to plan our Grand Canyon North Rim trip so this place was the only option for full hooks up on the North Rim. It’s a good back up option If the National Park sites are all booked. The North Rim only receives about 10% of the overall visitors to the GCNP, so its way less crowded and worth the trip. If you’re looking to ride your dirt bike/ATV, this might be the perfect site. We didn’t bring ours, but we wished he had since there are trails near by the site.

On the drive into the park you can see deer (lots at twilight) and bison.

Pros: lots of trees, toilets, sinks and fire pits. Market onsite with essentials. Access to off road trails for ATVs/dirt bikes.

Cons: The sites are very small and cramped. 45 minute drive to the rim. “Jacob Lake” is a pond- set your expectations accordingly. You have to pay for showers.

Good back up

Look, it's a nice campground, but the spaces are right on top of each other, which for me is undesirable.... but, if everything else is full, you'll welcome the spot!

Clean, fairly crowded with many RV's

It was $18/night for a tent site with access to pit toilet bathrooms and showers (though if you want to shower you have to pay an extra $5). There was a large group there at the same time that I was, which made for a less peaceful experience. Offers full hook-ups for RV's, which made it popular with big rigs. The best part about it was the proximity to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which is said to get only 10% of the crowds compared to the much more crowded South Rim.
